may I inquire as to why you prefer the showerhead? IMO the vrod is better in several ways. 1) better dabbing surface 2) better heat retention 3) less blowback. The only advantage to the showerhead that I'm aware of is possibly less coil specific..

After i tried both vrod and SH i definitely want the SH.

Will it be possible to buy the bundle on 4\20? only the WE and VROD are there atm :<

why the Showerhead over vrod? Just curious as I’m trying to get more familiar with the options.

How often do you guys do dabs on this? This would be strictly my bedtime rig, the ultimate knockout tool. I’m guessing a dab over flower of a heavy Indica will send me straight to sleep!

I have another question as well, when it comes to oils, do you guys feel like you CAN achieve the same body high, muscle relaxing benefits that come from flower? I have a little experience with dabs but that was when I had a mighty and I can’t recall whether or not I feel the full body sensations that are available with flower. For me just regular vape pens with concentrate never give me a good body high it’s always heady.

Since the Showerhead is older, your best deal could be to find a used one. I've seen them pop-up every now and then in the classifieds here or reddit.

You can get the same effects, if not greater with concentrates. Just like there's a bunch of flower strains with different effects, you'll find the same with concentrates. Head, body, all the highs. Take notes on the strains/terps and effects you like, and try and match it on the concentrate side. Hash rosin is so hot right now. That's what I get to savor on, and then I look for decent bho type concentrates to fill in the time!

Yeah I'm like 90% oil 10% flower so the VROD was by far the best option for me. I have not actually noticed hotspots in my ABV from the VROD, the heating is very even. If you are concerned about even heating, mixing it up between hits will basically take care of the issue.

I definitely agree that the hotspots are very light. I would NOT have even noticed them except that I have both heads so I can easily see the performance differences! It's really gratifying to evenly vape a bowl in 1 hit without stirring. That's why I like the showerhead more, although my VRod still gets tons of use for dabs and double deckers :)

So basically the vrod is if you primarily dab or want to do both at the same time ?

The showerhead is honestly good for double deckers too. Some people don't like dabbing off of titanium though.

I'd say if you do 70%+ dabs go Vrod, if you do 70%+ herb go showerhead. If you do pretty equal amounts then flip a coin. You'll be happy either way.

double deckers :)

This is what it's all about for me. Honestly I almost never use flower only and I love the ability to have a specialized dish for dabs. When I do use flower I turn the heat down a bunch and do multiple hits.

VROD is different because it has interchangeable specialized dab dishes. It is the best option for giving flower and concentrates the ideal surface and environment for vaping each. The other products are good at both but usually don't have separate chambers built for each type of need.

Not at all sure what you are saying here.

The vrod is certainly better for ‘trate because it sports a halo (pick you material).

There is no difference between the “surfaces” of any of them for flower. Flower sits in a bowl on a screen and under whatever heater head you are using.

I believe that the SH and WE are better for flower than the Vrod due to the air flow hole pattern.

And I don’t understand “the other products don’t separate chambers for each type of need.

They all sit on a bowl that provides the separate chamber for flower.

The Vrod and SH both offer fab surfaces on the heater head. SH has to be Ti as it does not accept a halo. Vrod offers the ability to install the halo of your choice, SiC, sapphire, or quartz (any other halo material out there....I think that’s pretty much it)

@murf2010 - you got some good advice above.

If you are all flower, get a SH or WE.

If you are all ’trates, get Dcup, tbucket, or some other banger

If you are mostly or even frequently trates and want one device for both, get a Vrod as you can select from different halo materials.

If you are mostly or frequently flower and want one device for both, get a SH and dab on the Ti.

Least that’s how I see it.

Great points above, how about showerhead vs Weedeater? That’s where I’m stuck at  either way I have to build my own bundle since the WE doesnt have a carb cap and the showerhead bundle isint available

The people that have SH love them. The people who have WE love them. hahaha

Some folks really like the lower mass of the WE.

Me, I like the greater mass of the SH. haha

Some folks don't cap so WE is good for them.

I always cap so that's why I like my SH.

Hard to go wrong either way if buying for flower use.

I believe the Showerhead has longer heat pipes than the Weedeater, thus slightly better heat transfer.

For flower only, the Weedeater has more heated surface area than the VROD in the same size.

I have couple questions and I really appreciate the help that will save me remorse in the future:
  1. I have a coil with 4 wraps, can I strand it and use it with the VRod?
  2. Is it possible to get the safety stand with the brush debowler rather than regular debowler? I don't want to buy both and end up putting the regular debowler in the drawer.
  3. Do you use your flowerpot with dab rigs? I love hard hits but I also like flavorful hits and I wonder if the vapor will be too hot in a small rig.
  4. I'm looking for a whip setup and wonder which kind of tube I should be looking for. Is it silicon? Is it safe? Where can I buy one from?
  5. For heavy hitting hits, I have a 20" bong with many percolators, I'm just curious if I have to raise the temp to a level where the vapor becomes harsh in order to get these milky milky hits. I will get the carb cap as I read it'll help doing that on lower temps. I also wonder if adding a second bong (using a whip) it'll make the vape more tolerable.
Aiming to build my vaping corner, something like the gif, which I find fascinating.

In response to #3, YES - only with dab rigs and usually anhydrous (no water). I'm using the WE at 660-690F.

VROD is best if you use flower + concentrates but don't like owning a bunch of this stuff. I like having one thing hooked up that does both pretty damn well. To each their own.

I'm at 640 on my WE with no water, I find any water forces you to inhale harder, which reduces the effective temperature. I was closer to 700 with water. I find it's not harsh at all without water.

Here's my K wire setup. I feel it's important to be able to fixture the kwire in a stand to eliminate the variable of hand holding. I also feel it's necessary to be able to measure when the dish normalizes this requires holding the probe still for 5 min. This is not easily done by holding the probe by hand. This gauge will log 2 probes and export to csv format.

I’ve posted multiple times my opinion on using K-Type wire bead probes, for measuring large flat surfaces, and why it’s not the ideal choice. Since you don’t publish a direct email to reach you, and I understand you may not want to be bothered, it’s awkward trying to give feedback across multiple threads on a forum. As a NV customer, I certainly have a vested interest in wishing you success.

Maybe you missed the post and subsequent responses here:

I found a terpometer for $75 shipped over at captainedsshoppe.com ...so I'm finally going to bite the bullet. Mostly for my torched bangers, but have always been curious of the SiC on my vrod. Controller is at 680f. I'm setting the over/under at 590f
