18650 would be awesome!

And two 21700’s would be even more awesome!

That’s the type in many electric cars, like over 6,000. Why not choose the best available battery technology available at the time? Not sure who NV is consulting with, but couldn’t believe I read “25650” was in discussion...
Full disclosure, I already have a DCup setup, so no horse in this race...

I'm thinking more in the neighborhood of 8-12 21700's for an extended session away from home would be nice.

Though 18650s seem to be less expensive and more available.

I hate to say it, but for a commercial product, a BIG lipo pack, leaving room in the base in case of lipo expansion. You see a lot of the DIY induction heater makers for Dynavap switching to Lipo, safer chemistry, though not cheap either and a little harder to find. The only reason I like 18650’s is because I have so dam many, and I don’t need to worry about balance charging, and proper chargers for lipo. My favorites are my 21700’s like T40, etc, with real 35amp capacity are state of the art till ... tomorrow.

I don’t know the power requirements for a “portable” Tsunami, but assuming while portable you didn’t run it constantly, I guess it could be decent. But there are already small, light, battery operated dabbers on the market, like the Puffco Peak, while overpriced, they are less then what I presume the Tsunami portable may sell for. I hope it works out.

what the oracle google says?
What is the difference between 18650 and 21700?
21700, 18650, 20700 and others simply refer to the physical size of the lithium-ion cell. For 18650, it's an 18 mm diameter x 65 mm length. 21700 is 21 mm x 70 mm. While the explanation is simple, the difference is profound.

I'm no battery expert. This dialogue is most important to me. So the internal electronics will need to be converted to DC. Which maxvapor says won't be a problem. What are your thoughts on a battery interface like my dji phantom
uses.

As a very happy owner of a T-Bucket, it would take a fair bit for me to ditch my standing rigs. However, the idea of an e-rig has been very appealing, I just don't find the materials and designs currently on the market to be good enough. So I've held off and stick to enails, and certain 510 atomizers when I really need portability.

But these developments with integrating a maxVaporNail have me really interested. Pair that with a battery?? I was pumped for an internal battery, but a removable lipo like the dji has would be a dream. Plus I have multiple vapexhale tubes, so your new adapter for hydrotubes gives me more reason to invest. This tsunami is becoming a serious rig! The only things that could even be added are mainly just an extra coil port. Less so, inserts from someone like fadespace. Don't get me wrong, I have had a great experience with my sic insert, but I, like many, like variety.

I think you guys are on a really good track with this. I understand a Mvnail and battery being integrated will drive up the already high cost, but if I can carry this thing around then I'd be saving my pennies. I would rather buy this monster, than any erig on the market. I may be biased as I think all erigs are at-home-portables. At least I wouldn't be taking them on the go, but the larger size of the tsunami isn't much an issue for just taking it to the porch. Or on a vacation. I wonder with how much people spend on their peak inserts, carb caps, and custom bubblers, how much cheaper would it really be? Maybe the tsunami won't be expensive enough to matter for the heady boys on instagram. Hopefully you can amass an army of customers submitting quality content like Hollow.Im.Highs content. Would rather see more serious rigs, like tsunamis, than the army of peaks/cartas. At the very least, you'll have sold me haha.

Removable battery, maxvapornail tsunami, paired with sic and sapphire inserts, for easy ready use with hydrotubes, sold. I imagine my hydrotubes will sit only on the the joint, but I'd be even more happy if they were supported on the bottom too. Maybe a mood mat could have a hole cut in it, and placed on the hydrotube adapter, with the post sticking out? With the right thickness mat, the tube would sit on the mat, elevated just enough for a full seal at the joint. I know there will be variance between tubes, so maybe a kit that has a couple thick mats for getting it close, and a couple thin mats for fine tuning? Just spitballing here, as I think this is a good opportunity to work with other popular companies in the space (as you are currently doing). Cross brand recognition and modularity are great strengths for the tsunami.

I love the battery DJII concept. You can plug it in or slap in a battery pack and grab it for a sesh next to the bed. If the Tsunami had the stuff listed below I would want to sell off so much of my glass and e-rig set ups.
-extra D-nailed wired coil port
-swappable battery pack

the LEDs are nice to haves but not required.

watching for the first release of this updated Tsunami (need a name like TsunamiMax or Tsunami Omega).

what are your thoughts on 3d printing your own tsunami housing and parts around your tbucket? no soldering. I'm under the belief what can safely be 3d printed should. This approach could mean a $300 - $500 cost savings. And a flexible desktop vape platform for addressing future updates. Either case all parts still made in metal.

I bet all kinds of glass artists are gonna start making custom pieces for this. This one looks fantastic, love the simple form factor now with the MaxVapor integration, this is really pushing the boundaries on a concentrate vaporizer. There's really nothing at all like it that has that level of software and hardware and glass versatility all combined in a single device. I honestly wasn't sure where this was going when the thread first started but its turned out above and beyond what I think anybody could have really expected. And if it actually has a battery option thats gonna be crazy! Definitely next level

Well, holy shit this has moved ahead quickly. Thats excellent. Im not so keen on the idea of more plastic stuff out there, but if its for permanent use, its quite an amazing development. The open source nature is fucking awesome, shows what an incredible company we have here.

A maxvapor controller is great, a removable battery is the only real choice that makes sense, and an open source printable housing. This is fucking incredible mate @NewVape710 ! Very impressive indeed.

And the hydratubes! I've been hoping for that development since this idea came up. Man, I want a Tsunami now.

Bastards :)

I'm glad you like the new tsunami concept. My real mission here is to determine if 3d printing is a safe and viable production alternative. The maxvapor upgrade in the existing aluminum housing is only a small feat of merging 2 great platforms. It's the idea of leveraging end user self printing that excites me. Allowing customers to continuously upgrade to the latest model or constantly evolve their color scheme to match your mood seems achievable now. There are many different types of 3d printing filament (the spool of material) including wood, and even HEMP. Over the next several weeks I will put this prototype through as much testing as I can. I'll be leaving it powered on for 1-8 hrs intentionally trying to melt what most consider the least durable material standard PLA. Here is the $250 3d printer I own and recommend to my friends. "Ender 3 Pro" found on amazon. I've installed thermal insulated firewall and sleeves to help shield the PLA material. It could be that an aluminum heat shield is the final recommendation. My idea is to offer $10 stl files of our models and printing instructions. Charging a one time fee for the stl file would encourage more models being released. The entire tsunami is based around the tbucket banger and dishes. I also have plans on having metal and 3d printing enail box (with xlr) for the maxtronics. I hope everyone stays safe out there.

@NewVape710 Is there any way to get the screen and encoder on the back, so they're facing you if using the device?

I'm digging the 3D printed idea and curious to see what else you have up your sleeve with that. I think a machined knob for the encoder on the finished version would be sweet, the aluminum one on my MV controller feels good in the hand.

@invertedisdead I'm not seeing any reason why board and controls can't be rotated 90 deg. beauty of 3d printing and discussing here on fc. perfect example for 3d printing as soon as you had purchased one i'd change the location on the next version. Now it might be way to address those types of things. Thanks for the suggestion, & dialogue.

I've been very happy with my v-rod. One of these future iterations of the tsunami is definitely gonna find a home in my dab station within the year. Though I'll probably spring for the machined aluminum base over a 3d printed one. Though a 3d printed hemp version is super intriguing.

I kinda think there should be a dedicated AC model and a dedicated DC model aimed for portability. You could always use an AC-DC power supply to run the portable model off mains power.

ETA: I do really dig the knob on the 3-d printed model. That would be an awesome addition imo to all future iterations
