Dr Dabber Switch (Induction Vaporizer)

This should not harm the unit, but it may not get the capsule hot enough to vaporize your materials.

Yes, all inserts are compatible with any Ti cup.

Okay, just tried and I can confirm it definitely does not work. Dr Dabber should look into something like that concept for the Switch. I don’t use mine for herb because it’s a hassle and a mess, just like many herb vaporizers - no offense to anyone here. The capsules clean up the mess and allow you to schedule the hassle for when you’re not getting high.

Hi - bit of a Switch noob question (I've been using a RDX and dnail desktop setup). Got my Switch 3 weeks ago, for a reason unknown to me I cannot get it to produce clouds. Shatter, butter, different types - only the slightest cloud production.

Hits me good - don't get me wrong - I've tried all of the default oil temps and the advanced mode too. Certainly a thicker 'whisp' of vapor at the extreme high temps in advance mode - but - a little harsh - and not what I would call clouds.

The ball perc attachment is see through (transparent) while I draw - all the time. Watching vids and reading comments here, I've seen and read of what I would call normal cloud production. I am stumped on why I am not seeing clouds.

I should note the same product and quantity produces great clouds on my desktop rig.

Any thoughts?

Make sure to use all the included silicone seals. You want the induction/heating chamber to be completely airtight while in use. You will also want to put slight downward pressure on the carb cap while in use. You may have the older style carb cap seal. We improved the standard carb cap seal to improve vapor production with the standard car cap and upgraded caps as well. Here are a couple quick videos for reference:

Standard carp Cap

Bubble and Directional Carb Caps

If you need the upgraded silicone seal, shoot me a DM with your email address and I will get one sent your way ASAP.

Let me know if these tips help.

Thanks for the response. I've got the silicone seals on and I'mm using the mini decanter carb cap.
One thing I haven't tried is the original carb cap. I'll re-seat the silicone seals and try the original carb cap tonight. I'll shoot some vids as well.

Again thanks for the response - much appreciated.

No problem. Videos will definitely help me fully diagnose the problem for you.

I also recommend heading in to advanced mode and setting the temp around 520 (2 Cyan/Light Blue LED's) for best results. This is a good temp for clouds and flavor.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

I sent you a PM with a link to a couple videos. I also swapped out the glass and tried the original - same result. Again kicking the temp up a couple more levels ( 2 green, in advance mode) makes a difference - but just wisps of vapor

Cheers in advance for any thoughts.

I just sent you a reply. Make sure to use Crystal Mode with all inserts (Smooth Ceramic, Quartz, Sapphire, SIC) for best results. I sent you a few links and videos as well. Happy Dabbing!

Thanks alot! I had not even thought of trying Crystal mode

It has been a lot of fun troubleshooting

I'll report back with confirmation - thanks again!

The manual says the stock ceramic oil and flower inserts are interchangeable - that means you can use a black cup with oil in oil mode, right?

You totally can. The colours of the 2 cups are just to help you distinguish. Personally when I first got mine the white cup was for sativa and the black cup was for indica concentrate.

^ This!!! The standard cups are exactly the same except for the colors. Feel free to use these cups with whatever material you want.

We have heard that Moon Rocks work great in the standard cups too :)

Just unboxed my Switch last night, the stock glass attachment came with a huge crack(s) where the air tube meets with the ground joint.

But damn, besides the cracks in the stock bubbler.. i haven't been this happy with a vape in forever!! Got the sic insert, one noob question, can you record your own hold time in Crystal mode? Manuals says you must be in advanced mode but does it carry over to crystal?

As far as I know you can train the hold time in crystal mode and also do it any time to make the hit go longer than the 30 second limit.

Does anyone know the best way to clean the silicone plunger seal? Will it get ruined from repeated iso soaks?

Thank you for the feedback. I am reaching out to you now with assistance.

You may train the hold time in advanced and crystal modes. This hold time will be remembered in both of these modes until you train it again. The longest possible hold time is 30 seconds.

ISO soaks are the best way to clean this item. Repeated soaks should not impact this ring in a negative way. Just make sure to only soak it for about 20-30 minutes for best results.

Silicone will not be damaged by iso. It may swell a bit depending on how long it soaks for but it will shrink back down.

Glad you're enjoying your Switch! Bummer about the glass though. I'm sure you're aware but definitely check out the thread where the temperatures that various terpenes are vaporized. Sorry I'm on mobile or I'd link it, but it's on this forum. We don't have precise control but you will definately notice more of a sedative effect at higher temperatures. You will also get a real flavourful hit at low temperatures. I've had very woody sappy hits, very citrusy hits etc. But if you skip straight to a higher temperature those flavours might disappear.

I've been struggling getting decent flavor off the sic insert, crystal mode on any of the teal lights. I torched off the sic and the ti cup a few times. I tried the stock oil cup in advanced mode and got way better flavor.
I've been hitting off sic for 3.5 years so I kinda know what to expect, I get way better flavor with my oura modded with a peak coil/sic insert.

Try a much lower temp. I found that I had to drop ~5 temp levels from the equivalent temp that I used for the other cups. You'll get better flavor and it will vaporize as much as other cups that are 5 levels higher.

Yea I figured thats what was happening, the stock cup is pretty good though I usually hate ceramic. Been running the sic lower since it gets so hot.

Ill have the sapphire cup later today to try.

I can't stand cleaning the sapphire cup personally. I've had some people prefer the sapphire and some prefer the SiC.

I'm interesting in hearing your take on it.

What temp ranges do you do for sapphire? Never used any sapphire insert before, ive been cleaning some inserts by putting them on one of the coils on my electric stove and setting it to full power, I think that would be ok for this insert the stove only gets to 950-1000° when it's fully glowing

Ah, I have a gas stove. An iso soak and scrubbing with q-tips is then some mechanical abrasion with a silicone covered tool and it's not bad. But it takes much longer than taking my MAP gas to the Sic and I don't think it ends up as clean as the Sic with that routine. I'm real careful with it though because when I wasn't around someone tried to clean the sapphire insert with a butane torch and now it has a big crack in it. Thankfully it is still water tight but I don't want to break that chunk out.

It depends, usually I start out with lvl 4 or 5 which is in the purple and then and up maybe up to 15 as we take more hits from it. My girlfriend will usually run it 15-20 because she wants it all right now even though it's a lot. If it's smoked out and we're changing concentrate we'll usually then bring it all the way up to 25 and you can sometimes get another hit from it. I also get hit real hard in comparison to a lot of people I know though so it takes a lot less to effect me.

I have found that the first hit with a fresh dab is the most flavourful. If you have it low, below 15 on sapphire or below 10 on Sic then you get a real taste of the plant. After that hit though I don't get much and don't notice a lot of flavour difference between the levels.

What carb cap have you been using? I have found the stock cap to be pretty bad. Right now I have the bubble carb cap and it makes a world of difference. Especially using your finger to as a valve to cause a lower pressure in the chamber. I do also have the original directional carb cap but I don't use it because it sits real proud with with the silicone seals. Using those silicone seals really helps with being able to lower the pressure in the chamber. I do have the new mini decanter directional carb cap coming in so I'm hoping that works well and sits less precariously.

One thing I have been enjoying lately is some ground flower and concentrate mixed. That gets you a lot of flavour over multiple hits. I have not tried a moon rock yet though.

Edit: @DabberChase When are you guys coming out with an electroplated hive ball? ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

Good thing sapphire isn't as expensive lol, when I got my sic nail from dnail 3 years ago I think the sapphires were around 300 for just the dish.

I never even bothered trying to use the stock carb cap, I got the bubble cap(I think it was a complete waste of money) but I got a great deal on a clear oil decanter last week and it completely fixed everything, very nice restricted dab rig pull now. If you have a switch for mainly oil you MUST get the decanter over the ballrig or any other upgrades.

C'mon Dr dabber, release an S-tier switch insert.
