Hi there, i have a question and i could not find a answer yet. What do you know about the airpath in the Splinter, is is seperated from the Heater? On all the pictures i found, i just saw the 2 or 4 Holes in the Wood, but no info where the airflow goes. I am so excited, i will get mine on Monday.

So I just purchased a splinter used and it arrived with the wood piece and glass piece separated so that i can see the coil. What is the proper way to re glue the glass? https://imgur.com/a/8soxbb8

The air flows between the glass and the wood, down to the deck, and back up inside the glass where it passes through the RBT HSA heater (an xmas tree of SS gauzes) en route to the screen.

Where would the medical epoxy be? Is it the stuff that almost looks like foam tape in that picture?

I think you can see it on the rim of the glass and the inner ridge of the wooden sleeve in the second pic.

There is no electronics within the Splinter pod. Just the 510 base and the heater.

Yes air only flows through the steel heater, encased in glass with ceramic holding up the steel mesh in shape. No electronics or plastics in airpath or vaporpath, wood only in airpath not vaporpath, and epoxy is outside of airpath as well and away from any heat (it is also rated for very high heat). And yes all electronics are only in the ecig mod box used to power the Splinter.

Hey all! I'm back again. Finally dug my Splinter out of it's box (has a strange rattle since I got it, never fired it up..... wonder what that rattle is...).

Anyway I wanted to let everyone know after several design iterations, I'm quite pleased with my finished RBT Basket Screen Lid! What do ya'll think?

The lid is designed with an opening so the baskets "slide" into place.

I'm personally quite pleased with the finished result, the extra lip helps when removing the baskets without spilling herb everywhere! I find the "pop" as the baskets snap into place quite satisfying

Now I'm thinking about some sort of caddy to hold a bunch of of preloaded baskets for those who like to prepare a day/week of capsules at one time

That rattle is normal in early splinters I believe, nothing to worry about.

It's the mica that's rattling. Nothing to worry about. If it bothers you, you can always send it in to fix this.

I've had a go at converting @HerbieVonVapster 's TFR files for Arctic fox if anyone wants to try

They're a little on the cool side for my mods as I'm having to bump the temp up an extra 30C or so even with the hot one (cleared the resistance memory, read the resistance like a new atomizer and left unlocked) but I'm liking the temp control and rate of increase/decrease as you change temp with the 3 different TFR files.

Save the 8 lines as a CSV file and import via the import button in the coil material edit window
It will overwrite the selected material file when you click save so backup the material file you're going to replace first with a name you'll recognize if you want to revert back and select a material file you won't need for another atomizer if you use the mod for other devices too.

Hi, @Hippie I've got some questions about this if you don't mind. I started experimenting with TCR and so far have found the performance of the Wisemec RX3 Gen 3 dual to be more satisfying, even with basic TCR settings. I'm guessing that variance in draw strength is probably responsible for this - The TCR mode actively manages power based on my draw, but when in wattage mode I would have to manually boost output if I wanted more heat to keep up with a faster draw. So even though this isn't a DNA mod, so far it's been worth the time to play with TCR. Questions are.....

- Do you think the settings above be might be close to the curves of the Splinter Z heater? IE, is this a worthwhile starting point for a material file if I'm using a Z?

- Have you been more satisfied with your TCR experience after using the @HerbieVonVapster conversion?

- Oops, I guess I only have 2 questions! Divergent thinking detected.... defragging recommended.

Thanks! I’ll be setting this up tonight. Your post mentions that you boost your set temp about 30 C to reach the proper temperature when using this material file? Did you find a solution for that?

I have a (maybe) last question. I think i bought the v1 Version, and i found out that v1 is useing Mica in the Heater. Isn‘t Mica a Healthrisk? I googled Mica and found some scary things.

Some V1 (like V1+) have ceramic I believe, but the mica is safe in its use here. All previous RBT products were mica, Milaana Zion Splinters, only those manufactured in China have been ceramic, no one has ever had any issues from it as far as I know... Mica is an insulator here to hold large steel heater shape in place, so I don't believe it gets too hot, and I do think it is all pre baked to ensure material integrity and safety. Ultimately this is for you to decide though, materials can be a personal choice, there are some universally accepted as pure, but even those some people find their own issues with (some here don't even trust glass for example)

Would this work on mine ? I have the Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 DUAL 230W Box Mod. Currently using ArcticFox on it.

Also, most important question to any one here, is it normal for me to see small spark go through the device? like the spark just appears and i feel like it could be combusting the weed. is it healthy and is that normal?

i need the proper settings on how to use this for the Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 DUAL 230W Box Mod.

the spark ticks me off.

Only differences I'm seeing now are .....
I run with the Resistance unlocked
Brightness - 25%
On the Advanced tab > RTC mode - LIRC (altho I can't say I've changed that myself)
And I've enabled the 2A charging, in the advanced tab too.

I'm no expert but I don't think there is or was a DNA166
The Lost Vape Therion has a DNA250 chip
(altho some people list it as a DNA166 as it's a DNA250 chip setup to deliver a max of 166W from 2 batteries)
