Thank you for the input and noted on the suggestions. That is very true and I do hope that the chamber does come out a similar size with some sort of spacer for smaller doses.

Nice, thanks for sending this over and appreciate these suggestions! We all love water filtration over here. Noted on the mesh pad and concentrate mode. The batteries may be a bit difficult for us but we will do out best here.

We appreciate your time and thought in this post. All of these are great inputs and suggestions. I definitely agree with working on the instructions and will make sure that future instructions are clear and thorough.

Thank you all!
Are you guys still thinking adjustable convection/conduction???

My CF battery only lasts about 10 minutes now. I would like to open up the vape and replace it with a new Sony VTC5D (I believe the original is an LG HE2). I build battery packs for ebikes so I'm comfortable soldering them, but I was wondering if anyone has done this before and could share pitfalls I need to be aware of or any disassembly tricks.

May as well put in a Sony VT6 for a little extra run time, it should not be too hard to pull apart...I have a CF/x so don't know where you would start.
Interested to hear how you go.:)

The original battery is 20-25A rated (depending on the type of cell during the manufacturing run). Considering how hot the CF gets in my hand I'm hesitant to go any lower (like with the VT6 at 15A). I was hoping that the VTC5D would give me some additional thermal overhead with similar runtimes to the HE2 to help improve longevity and safety. I know that current ratings and thermal design are not the same thing, but they do seem to correlate. Also, I have some fresh ones on hand after I recently swapped out my old flashlight cells (30Q, great low-maintenance cells as long as you don't need max brightness 100% of the time).

Since there are no tear down images of the CF (to my knowledge) I'm preparing for this based on the CFX internals. I'm mostly worried about glue (I don't have a glue gun) and reassembly. Worst case is I use copius electrical tape to snug it in. I'll take pics when I'm ready to disassemble.

The best battery to use are the extra you have on hand...they are the right price!
I would leave the electrical tape out as it off-gasses pretty well when heated. I don't think glue as such is used, maybe high temp silicon but I do not know with these (the Tera has been scrutinized pretty well)
I hope you are able to show some shots of your handiwork (I understand if you don't)
I don't think the CFx would draw that much power as a charge lasts a long time, I hope you can run it through a multimeter before you reassemble and find what amps it actually draws.:sherlock:

You could, probably, get it warranted. Is it more than 3 years old???

No, but I modified the air intake so that probably voided it. I think it will be cheaper and faster to just DIY it. The other issue is that the top plastic is beginning to crack when I screw on the WPA. When that breaks completely it'll probably be time to go shopping.

contact Eric! They might warrantee it anyways. They are pretty flexible that way. My friend had one warranted that was falling apart. No worries!!!

I've got an even lazier fix than the 3D printer! You can see where the top has begun cracking, if it falls off it will take half of the plastic that is anchoring the WPA in. So far the zip-tie is holding up well, we'll see how the nylon does with the heat though!

OK, maybe I will point him at this post and see what he says. That'd be great news because I love this vape w/ the modifications.

Hi FC Community,

We appreciate the support from you all throughout these years and will do our best to support this wonderful community starting with the continuation of our old FC thread regarding the CF, CFX, and CF Hybrid models. The CF, CFX, and CF Hybrid focus on a mix of conduction and convection heating for dry herbs and concentrates. This allows for a fast heat-up time and an efficient vaping experience that the user can cater to.

Here is the link to the legacy thread:

We no longer manufacture the CF Hybrid but can still support and honor warranties for those in need. There will also be updates regarding the CFX 2.0 posted to the Upcoming/Unreleased section in the coming months. I look forward to being actively involved in this forum and am open to questions or comments anytime. Feel free to reach out to my email, Eric@bndlstech.com. Thank you all and we look forward to growing with this community!

So I ended up with a new free CFX. I haven't done any mods, but overall I'm not crazy about. It works and I cross the finish line just seems like the clouds are wispy for 430 f. The chamber is fucking huge, I was wondering if tossing some boro balls in there would add a turbo to it then put herb in basket screen or a pod bc half the chamber is plenty for me.

@iDRINKBLEACH , I love the design of the CFX but I find the draw resistance horrible. It's so tight that I have to puff on it like a tobacco pipe. I think I lose more vapor that I inhale. I waiting for puffitup to restock the wpa as I hear that the CFX works well through water. I am very much looking forward to the CFX 2 which is supposed to have a mouthpiece with (hopefully, much) less draw resistance along with other upgrades.

The draw doesn't bother me. My other vape atm is the pax 3 n soon in a few days I should have the tera, any ways the pax has quite a bit of resistance after a sesh or two w.o. Cleaning it especially with a wpa. I just feel like my clouds are a bit wispy. I'm real excited for my tera

I'm expecting my first vaporizer to be delivered either today or tomorrow and it's the CFX.
I am quite naive when it comes to vapes[only ever used a friend's unit a couple of times yrs ago] so i need some advice. What temperature should i set the unit to, to start vaping?
Is there a guide to using a vaporizer for the inexperienced?
Thanks.

What temperature range is best for vaping? 185C - 210C?
Try temp stepping start low and work your way up to find your sweet spot. Me personally I put my temp 400f + and always have a water pipe attachment *wpa*

I'm not getting any cloud so far, well only very, very, slightly anyway.

The first few puffs produce a nice taste. After a little while it tastes kinda toasty, and that's when i get a little bit of cloud so i'm guessing that's when the dope is overdone? Am i supposed to stop when the toasty taste happens?

I imagine there isn't a valve within the mouthpiece, so vapour obviously gets lost?

Stop when it begins to taste bad to you - it's what they call 'popcorn' taste.

Try around 392° F & make adjustments up & down from there. I would think that the highest you would ever need to go would be 415°.

Don't know what you mean be valve.

Get yourself a wpa from puffitup.com when back in stock & use through water.
