I did it with Haze Square and to me it was not worth the mess or taste:puke:
I found the Haze created a lot of reclaim, probably related to using those stainless paths for cooling.
There was so much gunk, I was able to get hits on the Haze without a bowl.

After a while I realized it's not worth it, for me. And with the Ghost, I'm cleaning before it gets too gunked up. I tried sweeping a cotton swap while warm, and it grabbed it nicely. Then just popped the swap in a crucible. Still not worth it.

I find better 'efficiency' in using all of the product is by saving the ABV, and making cookies from it.

Recipe? They sound great!

Cannicoconut oil:
  • Fill a glass quart canning jar to 12oz mark with AVB.
  • Add enough coconut oil to fully saturate AVB. This requires time to allow the dehydrated AVB to soak all that oil in, so it takes several stirs and oil additions until I'm satisfied that everything is good and saturated in there, but make sure not to fill past bottom of neck of jar or it will seep over during the double boiler process making cleanup a bit messier.
  • Put a fresh lid and screw top on but only tighten it enough so that air can still escape while boiling.
  • Put jar in a crock pot and fill pot with water until water level is slightly below the AVB/Oil line (be sure that the jar isn’t becoming too buoyant which could cause it to tip over when water begins to boil).
  • Cook on high for 4-12 hours (I’ve done times all through this range and haven’t noticed a difference in potency).
  • Dump contents into a strainer lined with cheesecloth over an 8 quart measure and squeeze like hell until you have gotten as much oil out as possible. It’s gonna be hot, so I use silicone oven mitts which wash up pretty easily.
  • Pour oil into a smaller canning jar for storage. This usually makes enough for 2 batches of cookies.

Cookies:
  • Measure 3 ¼ cups of rolled oats into a large mixing bowl
  • In a large sauce pan combine:
  • ½ cup cannicoconut oil.
  • ½ cup peanut butter (some times I do ½ PB and ½ Nutella).
  • ½ cup milk (I have used almond, silk, lactaid, and regular milk).
  • 1 ½ cups sugar.
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder.
  • ½ tsp salt.
  • Turn heat on to no higher than medium under sauce pan and bring to a boil stirring constantly.
  • Once it’s boiling, start a timer for 4 minutes and adjust heat to maintain a simmer while continuing to stir constantly.
  • When timer goes off, pull from heat, add 1 tsp vanilla extract to sauce pan and stir thoroughly.
  • Pour into mixing bowl with oats and stir to combine.
  • Make “cookies” before it cools.

From here you have options:
  • I’ve made standard cookies by dropping spoonfuls onto a wax paper lined cookie sheet.
  • I’ve poured the entire mixing bowl onto a wax paper lined cookie sheet and then cut it with a pizza wheel when they were cool enough.
  • I’ve put them into paper lined cupcake pans.
  • Ice cube trays and into freezer.
  • Smear it on your cat for all I care, just enjoy them is all I ask!

Peese all!

hi guys, I am having some trouble with my mv1, she is hot spotting a lot and leaving a lot of green around the edge of crucible. this has been happening since I got it around 4th of July. I followed packing instructions, shredding advice, payed attention to draw speed, drying my herb before vaping and I almost always see the same with my abv. and the vapor is very inconsistent sometimes I get some, sometimes no. sometime I get medicated very nicely even though it looks like abv is not totally spent but like last night, I did not get anything. I cleaned everything to make sure that being dirty wasn't causing this, it really wasn't dirty but cleaned it anyway. I wanna love this vape, but right now I am not in love with the inconsistent results. any advice would be appreciated. these pics where taken at different times since I brought it until now.
I do notice the hot spot seems to be in the same spot all the time, its in the upper middle part of crucible.

Yes, and any further posts along this line should find a home there. This comment is intended for everyone, incidentally. Thanks for pointing in the right direction.

A thousand apologies! I was unaware of that rule.

Hey @david8613 - The AVB you dumped out looks nicely browned to me. Yes, there are some dark spots, but nothing looks "unvaped" to me. I often end up with very similar looking crucibles when I push the temp up high or when I continue to vape after I start to taste that burnt popcorn starting to creep in. However, I don't fret it. It all ends up in my jar of goodness (as shown below) and it all blends together to look more uniformly "light brown" rather than "black".

If you are not experiencing the effects then that is a different issue, maybe the vapor isn't making it to your mouth? An air leak or something possibly? Have you tested the heat sink with the "palm of hand" method described by Ghost's how-to videos?

Not sure if those pics show just 1 draw hot spots....or several draws with out stirring?
I stirred after every draw with this vape.....as I want the best taste in every draw possible...and even extraction if possible. If you do not stir....this is not the best vape to use for most situations then.

You might need to adjust the metal screen piece just below the lower silicone piece above the heater. I recall they can move just a bit and be off enough to effect the air path somewhat. Use a strong pic or something to turn it into position. You can see in the pic below the screen is slightly off centered. Pull the heat sink off, close the door and adjust from there.

You can see also how the crucible and upper silicone match when you close the door...sometimes they are not lined up perfect and you will get a non centered hot spot. But if you line up the bottom screen piece...it should even out more. Obviously your not going to be adjusting this way for every use...just now to see if it helps to make the hot spot mellow out some.

2.5 months that's a record.for me.....noticed after two.to three pulls at 320 and crucibles.is spent????? The culprit... the latch....it doesn't shut all the way and there's a gap letting in air .....

No doubt.in my mind a latch redesign is in the cards!

But I still stand with Ghost.as.no other.portable can deliver.what it does.....just some growing pains.....

Stay normal.....

some of the pics above are from a couple of draws and some after I finished the bowl and i was not getting any vapor anymore. I admit I have not stirred, I thought this vape did not require stirring? I will have to check that metal screen thank you for the tip.
I am very sure its not an air leak, I am very cautious about that. I would like to see others forum members crucibles to see if they are showing the same hot spot, with green on the outside. the abv pic shows its not all nice and brown, some of is brown, some of it almost black, and some of it is green, it more pronounce in person, it looks like the dark parts are on the verge of burning. I don't think it should look like that. hot spot in the middle, borwn and then green around edge. I run dynavap, firefly2 and a mighty now and never see this that's why I am a little concerned.
