Clean your Vapcap before using to remove any residual machining oil. Once you start vaping bud with a clean Vapcap there will not be any funny taste.
The Vapcap is heated most commonly with a flame. The instructions to not soak in a flamable liquid or alcohol is a cautionay note to protect against people who clean with alcohol, don't rinse or allow to dry and proceed to apply a flame to the Vapcap. Kaboom! You can use alcohol. Just make sure that you rinse with soapy, then clear water and allow to dry completely before using.
The cap and the body or stem will not require cleaning. The parts that should be cleaned are the tip or herb chamber, the screen inside the herb chamber and the condenser. If you swab the condenser and tip with a Q-tip you don't need to worry about removing the orings. Lengthy soaking in alcohol would degrade the orings.
@KingMetatron I half fill a bowl using a small spoon, I heat with the bowl as level as I can keep it and stop at the click.
Toke to the click.
The kief is usually stuck to the side of the bowl by now so it doesn't need to be kept as level for the next heat cycles.
Once the vapors dwindling I scrape the bowl out and press the left overs into a pancake, it's always smelt hashy when I've done this.
Chuck it back in and start again.
@kellya86 mine was liquid and even when mixed with a bit of kief it was still very sticky.
I would coat it in kief when taking it out with me. Moon rock thingies remind me of it, minus the greenery.
Really pungent. Almost church incense like.

Capital idea! Love my Palm flavor tips as well.
The shirt clip is very practical, being one who easily loses everything, it too is another capital idea, especially when totally toasted.....

I do think the "raw edge" should be called "live edge" though... Just what I'm use to

I have ulcers so they'll also be doing an endoscope at the same time... I'm just glad I'll be sedated for all of it LOL

Yo my vapcap gets used most when I'm going through avb before re upping. It's easy to push the temp just before combustion with it.
Getting a nice Stony lazy high on my day off. Hello take my mind off not feeling well.
Anyway, it's really way to learn techniques with the vapcap, but I always gravitate towards high temp single pull whenever I use this puppy. Which is why I use it with avb frequently, because I prefer a lower temp on yummy flowers. Vapcap can do low temps no doubt, but my body and my brain are at war. My mind says low temp, then my body does high temp.
Anyhoo just a shout out of love to the vapcap.

Got the "M" I won as a prize on facebook for their contest. Looked it over, tried one bowl and was satisfied. I then did exactly what I said I would and gave it to a friend that happened to stop by. I have my Ti Woody-S so I am good. Comparing the two i do prefer my Ti Woddy but the M felt nice in the hands. it is much heavier than my woody. Spoke to my buddy and he loves his new gift

both are cool and have a fuel window which is the only reason i really dislike my Trek that i got from Dynavap. wish i could trade it in for one of these. guess i will just have to buy a new one instead

Sorry to hear it, mate - mine's 12 days from now, different reasons, but sounds like the same procedure...which I'm not looking forward to at all...I've had to reschedule 3 times 'cause I can't get a ride to-and-from, so it could never happen...

Here's a pic of my cherished and beautiful raw burl dynastash and Ti Woody S with a Copper Stoned body and a burl mp for your viewing pleasure. I've had these for over a year now. The stash was one of the first raw edges offered and the Copper Stoned body was custom made.
Have a look at the one the have posted on the website. It is a real stunner! I would love to see pics of all the ones available.

So I bought an M for a friend.
Filed the SS tip and gave them a basic honest single flame torch just to get them going.
We met up as a group to go check out the Edinburgh Festival.
Side note: The hotel was amazing!
He had a few goes with the M and seemed quite happy with it.
I had also made an alcohol tincture which I put into some glass based atomizers, think test tubes but with mouth spray nozzles as caps.
We used the tinctures mostly for the train journey and it was OK. Later that day I had a Rib Eye steak and took a similar dose which really hit nicely. Slow come on but leading to a steady body buzz.
The next day we went for breakfast and my mate ducked round a corner to hit his M. He was having trouble with the wind so I went over to help him. The next thing I know I see two raggedy looking hoodies coming at us. I assumed they were going to try and sell us some shit we didn't want so immediately walked towards them and said "no thanks, not interested". The next thing I see it one of them pull out a lanyard with a Police credential on it.
I played it cool and they lost interest in me almost immediately but wouldn't leave my mate alone. He just pulled out about 3x caps worth and just handed it to them, shrugged his shoulders and said: "enjoy the paper work, hope it's worth it".
They called in his details, discovered he's a nobody, no priors, no records, nothing.
Whilst all this was going on I ditched the tincture I had on me. Figured if they couldn't screw with him they might try it on with me.
They they took the tiny amount of cannabis my mate had but......... DIDN'T take the M! I was fucking shocked! Delighted! Pissed that I can't get high without hassle but delighted that the Cunt-stables didn't think to take the VC.
We had plenty more material back at the hotel but decided the M was best used indoors (out the window). I'm hoping the experience doesn't deter my mate from using his M.
Since being back I've dropped my usage down to about 2-3 bowls using an SS Tip, heated via the Induction Heater and drawn through an empty bubbler. 4.5 seconds beyond the click gives a perfect click to click hit that lasts me several hours.
Preferring the SS Tip (modded with grooves) at the moment.
End of update.
Good luck @WoodVillain RE procedure. Hope it all works out for ya. You'll be past it in no time and with the power of the VapCap you'll not remember it by this time next week (probably we'll before).

Dude @GreenHopper so fuckin glad you are home safe. Edinburgh Festival is such a party, can't really believe they chose to hassle you two. Really lame IME considering how much alcohol consumed & the general rowdiness there. When I was there that was my impression, I would think drunks and their deeds would be the priority. 
Did they give your mate a written warning or just the herb? Important thing is he kept the M, clever of him to offer the bit of flower and pocket the M. Still, once they saw it was just a bit of herb they should have moved on. Lots more real trouble to deal with IMO. Unless you were also blind drunk & shooting PCP, that is...
