I've broken my ceramic screen, what's the best way for someone in the UK to get hold of one of these new CCD's?

I bet you are referring to the Raw Edge Burl Dynastash. It is not the standard dimensions. The length is standard but it is wider to accommodate and show off that raw edge. George had a few of them a couple months ago. When he posted a pic of one of them here, I immediately emailed him and purchased it. I LOVE it!!! It is a beautiful burl!!!:love::love:

The Wenge DynastashER is the standard dimensions. If it looks extra fat to you, it must just be the angle of the shot.

I believe that the Ti tips are all interchangeable. The new tip has more channels to likely increase air flow and convection performance. Plus it is VERY attractive.

If you have the OG Vapcap, contact George. He can probably send you some. The CCDs for the Ti tipped are still in development stage and not yet available. Hopefully, when they are available we will be able to order a package of them.

They look like a fantastic innovation to me. I can't wait to try them myself. Isn't it funny that everything that George comes up with has an aesthetic appeal and improved functionality? Even a lowly screen is a work of art.....:love::luv::love::love:

In the mean time you have some options;

- replace the ceramic screen. They should be commonly available.
- use an 8mm titanium screen, like these. They are available on eBay.

- Or, you can do as some have suggested and go without a screen and use a bit of hemp fiber instead.

Or better yet, I can send you one of the titanium screens and a bit of hemp fibre to play with. The lovely Squiby sent me 5 titanium screens from over the pond, and I've got one left that I can gift to you, and il include some hemp fibre for you to try- George sent me a load, and I don't use much of it.

It's yours if you want it!

Peace

Wow if that was meant for me, why can't the world be like the FC forum man

I think i can blag a titanium screen off @phattpiggie next time i see him, i wouldn't want to take your last one @herbalist33 , you know you'll need it as soon as it's gone :) But fully appreciate the offer, maybe us UK folk should work together if any of us send off for spares etc, i would think all of us with the OG would like to try the CCD, it sure looks pretty :)

There's one been sat here for you since they arrived @Ruta .

I bought a load of stuff when I placed my last order especially for these type of occassions and I'm steadily trying to build up a collection of spares or contacts for spares so anyone in the UK or EU needs anything then get in touch and I'll see what I can do.

The glass I've had is readily available and I am sure the supplier will put a 'carb' hole in and flame polish one end. I've done this myself with the pieces I've sent out.

My 5 fin tip has been getting some use the last few days while the 7 takes an Iso bath. Got my triple turned up a bit so I can do some quick hit and run bowls. Dark brown even extraction and nice thick vapor.

@Ruta, I too got a pack of Ti screens and have spares (UK) so if you (or anyone else) wants one I have 3 to offer as I can't imagine needing to replace one unless I lost it!

Whoever wants one PM me:cheers:

@Phatpiggie, thanks for the sample of your beeswax/hemp-oil woodcare wax!
I slapped some on my Dynastash, and my Ti-burly and they both GLEAM now:love:
Thanks dude, I'll try it on my Damascus soon.
Wanna get some gun blue first to try a 'hot blue' sealing process.
A little rub with wire-wool.
Then finish with your wax, and seal by boiling in coconut oil for a while.

Oh. I love that Damascus of yours!!!:clap::nod::clap::love:

Do you have an update on how you like it? How it performs? General impression???

I can't wait to see all spit and polished.:luv::love::love::luv::bowdown:

Can you tell us if your Damascus is a short body or a stem length? It probably was mentioned in your gorgeous drawings some pages back. :);):bowdown:

Cheers dude :D

How do I like it?
I freakin' LOVE it!
It may well be the coolest thing I've ever owned (a benchmark set recently by my Ti-burly).
Seriously I can't ever thank George enough, he did the most amazing job on this that I couldn't be more amazed.

I need to seal the steel before using it in anger though, as there's a slight taste of 'metal workshop' off it as-is.
I'm confident that this would disappear if I simply removed the condenser and vaped a few bowls and allowed a little 'claim to coat the inside of the Damascus tube before normal use.
But I'd like to do it properly.

The length is entirely custom.
This does of course make it entirely incompatible with any of my other Vapcap parts/vapes, but I don't care, this thing is concieved as an entirely solo device.

It must be used with the supplied condenser and mouthpiece.
It won't operate without the mouthpiece.
The body and mouthpiece together are a few mm or 1/4" longer than a standard Ti-woody.

I'll get another pic here soon!

Finally back in business, got an OG to hone technique, also has the CCD screen and its great, really cool and unique. And now it's great to be able to see vapor forming in there, but I need a lot more practice it seems...

With it here is also an OmniVap with cocobolo 18mm to 14mm WonG bodyso 18-14 OmniVonG... The newer Ti tips are awesome too (not the latest criss cross but newer from my original TiWoody pt) got a couple spare glass bodies too and what looks like a Ti body as well, by different from the prototypes I've seen here? Is it a different metal?

Planning to get a shorty wood body when I can afford it, plus wood mouthpieces for S and more modularity... Great stuff as always George, thank you worth the wait, glad to be getting to know @VapCap again

The standard metal condenser works really well in a OG @Shit Snacks & you just stick on the rubber mouthpiece. You have to love the modularity of the system but I like that blasted Ti look with the deeper spiral on yours.

@Tommy10 you can look at your predicament in another light. When you do pull your finger out & wash it you will have a spare cap for your future VapCap. My OG cracked but I am thinking of cutting it down & making a shorty OG with a short XL condenser when I can be arsed.

Nope, got one tube and a half busted condenser... No cap:(. Friend broke last tube and condenser and I can't find where the cap went! Other cap has a hole drilled through it
Butt when I do order a VonG I can order another cap and have a spare glassie because this being without is shit... Although I doubt I'll break a VonG, will try though.

Would anyone happen to know if it's possible to use an arizer eq to heat the vapcap with convection....

Could this provide a more even heating, or never heat enough????

Do the ebony specials come with a Ti tip? Or just the stem?

They are a complete unit; cap, Ti tip, condenser, stem or body and mouthpiece.

I just had a look and the straight stems and bodies are gone, just VonGs are still available.

THAT was fast!

I'd love to find a really cheap crappy eq or evo clone which could be used for VC heating.
I doubt that a cheap vape that's powerful enough to serve exists though
Life's very busy at the moment, so I've not had a chance to try my induction heater yet.
Haven't even had time to locate a suitable power supply amongst the many wall worts I have stuffed in boxes all over the place!

We could make one complete OG @Tommy10 . I need another Ti in my collection but this thread has taught me to email George to see what crazy shit he has floating about before any purchase is made.

I have thought about using my EQ as a heater with a Ddave 18/14 F/F as the cradle. I am sure it would work with the fan but question the efficiency compared to a $5 can of butane every month or two. It is plenty quick enough with a triple torch but a coil heater like @paytonpenn made seems the most likely option.

I amended my order, matt emailed me back....

Good, quick friendly service....

He did say though, that I had made the right choice going exotic if I wanted cocobolo.....

Started reading this thread from the beginning last night.....

Gotta educate myself before I own something I don't know how to use....

Hi everyone!!

It's been a while since I posted something here, been a bit busy and on vacations too...
But I've been lurking (and loving) all your posts and pics! It's really a pleasure to see all these happy vapcappers around the world...:luv::tup:

My girl tried my TiWoody these vacations we spent in Cádiz and she LOVED it! It was her first time vaporizing, and she really enjoyed it, you can count on her buying a vape in the future...
My flatmates also loved it, and are planning on buying some... So it seems that the @VapCap family is going to send some more goodies to Spain soon :tup:

The pic was taken with an action cam during a sunset in Sancti Petri beach, not really good quality pic, but we loved to vape there!

Enjoy the summer guys!

Gotta educate myself before I own something I don't know how to use....

Yes, do read the thread from the beginning. I did just that when I first became interested in the Dynavap products. Lots of fascinating, helpful information to be found.

I LOVE MY VAPCAP!!!!!!

Most or all of my observations have been mentioned here at one time or another, but I thought that it might be helpful to put some of the most noteworthy tips and observations together.

Thus begins ... Dynavap Vapcap 101

Rule #1 - Respect the click. BOTH WAYS. That cap really does know what it's doing. Sure, you can heat it past the click a second or so, but I have found that stopping at the click gets me three good hits per session. The first is a flavour hit and the next two are pure vapour. I am a light regular vaper and I only use a tiny amount of herb per bowl. That gets me three hits and then bliss. Some may prefer to slightly overheat the first round for full vapour on hit one, but that will get you very dark ABV while I myself prefer more of a toast colour.

The cooling click is even more important because if you don't wait for it before reheating, you will combust. It's guaranteed, write it down, take it to the bank, count on it. It's easy to get lost; heat the cap, toke away, gaze with loving admiration at your Woody's undiscovered beauty and then, without thinking, you put the torch to it again. NO...STOP, don't do that. Wait for that cooling click. For me, this was the toughest part of the learning curve - learning to wait for the cooling click. This alone should give you an indication of how incredibly easy it is to operate. I haven't combusted, but I have come close a once or twice. Each time was without question, user malfunction.

When done correctly, the herb always comes out an even toasty brown. Perfection. Yes, you guessed it, it's true. The cap it IS magic.

Rule #2 - Choose your fire. The flame or heat source that you use DOES effect your outcome. A four jet torch brings immediate, or in just just a few seconds, perfect vaping temps. Dial down the fire and you add more seconds getting to the click. With a quad, triple or double jet, the time to temp is very short. A candle may take up to 10 seconds but it is heating that oven nice and slow. Easy does it..Yum...

Rule #3 - Find your sweet spot. Where you apply heat to your cap makes a difference. Heat low on the cap and your bowl temps are higher than heating the tip of the cap. This adjustment fine tunes the heat and degree of tardiness in your ABV. Infinite variability is possible through your heat source and how/where on the cap you apply it.

Rule #4 - Attract a magnet (or Dynastash/ER). When I ordered the Dynastash and DynastashER, I really sort of expected them to be a novelty item. Boy! Was I wrong. These tiny stashed are sooo cool and better yet, super convenient. They tuck away your vap and store your herb. They are small, dugout sized, fit easily in your palm and your pocket, are super attractive and just sooo handy. The ER has the added benefit of an extra silicone stash. It's meant for concentrate but I have been stuffing flower in it. Again, super handy. I haven't even mentioned the main attraction, the magnet. It keeps your vap stuck close by so it won't roll away. And it looks great doing it. It holds the cap for you when you're filling the bowl. Place your vapcap on it after a toke and it will cool the cap to the cooling click sooner. The Dynastash/ER just ties everything together and I don't feel like I have a bunch of random separate pieces cluttering the place up. Also, you can stash your stash by using the magnet to hold it to metal.

Rule #5 - Bigger is not better. The bowl size is perfect; Small but not too small. Perfect. I like to take a big or two and fill the bowl from it. The herb tucks right in. The rim of the tip has an edge to it so it can bite nicely into the herb, from your Palm or your stash compartment, if that makes any sense. One lightly packed bowl a bit shy of half full is enough for three heating cycles and gets me where I want to be. The ABV is easily blown out, no need to tap, fiddle or fuss around when emptying the bowl.

What could Rule #6 be??? Anyone??
