Hey guys, so there is a brand new Zues portable vaporizer that is about to hit the market. It's called the:

    Zues Arc

There is pretty much no information about it on the net as I think Tvapes (formerly known as Toronto Vaporizers) decided to debut the unit in the Vape Lounge at the 2017 Lift Expo this year as TVape is the vape lounge sponsor for the event and was making quite a few sales with the try before you buy.

Anyway, more about the Zues Arc. The model I saw was about the size of your inner hand in a loose fist and feels comfortable. It has that bias black sort of soft coating so it doesn't get slippery and etc. Though it also gets resin and other particles embedded over time so there is a plus and minus. But it also is less likely to slip from your hands.

I personally have always thought that all portables should come with a wrist strap for added security. I have see professional blade smiths makes weaponry style cutting blades and they all have a leather wrist strap to help you get a secure grip and be able to easily get composed again and continue wielding the knife. Seems like a necessary but overlooked flaw. Plus if it isn't too big a neck strap is always handy when you go to expos and etc or hanging around different places so you don't forget anything, but also it's available right away if you need it.

    *Back to the Zues
When I was hovering over the two units and their pedestals a man approached and inquired what I was looking for and what I am experience with now. I said I have the Volcano Mighty Medic, the Volcano Medic for home as well as the herbalAire which I prefer to my desktop Volcano Medic. I also sometimes just use the Mighty Medic at home as it works just as well as I could expect and is finely engineered and well thought out which is typical of the often thought of higher quality engineering that you get in Germany. I also read a claim where it was German engineered which I don't think is true. The only part that might be "German engineering" was a retooling of the Storz & Bickel designed cooling units for their portable line which channels and bends the air all sorts of ways much further cooling it before it hits your mouth. I have never tasted a smoother high temp dry vapour, as in without water filtration.

So apparently the Zues Arc has their own cooling unit, but it was designed based off of and is quite similar to S&B portable cooling unit. The rep I was speaking with was so knowledgeable and we got into a really technical conversation about how vaporizers operate and the benefits of some features. He then revealed to me he was the engineer responsible for the creation of the Zues Arc and was there to promote it. He said I should expect similar, but probably not greater performance to the Mighty Medic I already have. He also mentioned their cooling unit used some gold in it to help to conduct away as much heat, as quickly as possible. It seems to have a good feel to it, if I was completely OCD about things I could have definitely tried it and would love to to broaden my horizons of what is out there. The engineer understood and also seemed to wish I could of tried it to give him some feedback on how it helps me as a medical patient.

I suggested to him to design a cartridge like system similar to the one provided with the Mighty Medic. I explained this was la piece de resistance for medical users and just heavy users in general. As they go about their day and leave they houses it is so convenient to pack 8 cartridges that can be so easily loaded and discarded with less mess than just packing the unit yourself. In the 5-6 months I have owned my Mighty Medic I have never had to brush the heating chamber as the dosing capsules keep it so clean. He said he will look into it. So if Zues dosing capsules or cartridges come out it was a result of me inspiring the creator to try something new and different that has a potential market.

I am such a fan of the dosing caps because I feel it brings us closer to broadened acceptance of cannabis use in general, but also as a medicine. Lots of people to medicate have to open their stinky (in a good way) jars to get some buds out, then find a place outdoors somewhere to grind and roll without everything blowing away and not to mention the public perception of someone in a park leaning over a magazine with a grinder, some papers and maybe tools like scissors or packing tools out that would scare your local neighbourhood watch into a frizzy. I order to open my Mighty Medic, cleanly take out he spent capsule and load a new one in and continue vaping all without anyone really knowing what your up to as the setup procedure is non traditional so it won't raise the same flags as this one.

I'm not worried since I am legally licensed, but I am also courteous to the public outdoor space we have to share with others so I try not to impede their enjoyment in anyway.

I'm not saying it is....but Toronto Vapes units are generally rebrands. That is, the Zeus was a rebranded FlowerMate Pro, for example.

Do you happen to have any pics of this device?

I should of taken a pic since I was there for all three days of the expo. I didn't want to make anyone unhappy as they were kinda off to the side and weren't released yet so I figured I could find info in the net yet it doesn't seem to have too much.

I am 98% sure TVapes owns Zues as the Zues engineer was wearing a TVape Suit like all the other employees. He was really nice and could explain things very well. I wish I got his card. Oh well. Next year if they are there again.

Toronto vapes does own Zeus. There are a lot of North American companies who enter into manufacturing relationships with Chinese factories where they build electronics in bulk.

Boundless is one, Airvape another, although boundless has a more direct relationship with their manufacturer (Smiss/Flowermate) and as such comes out with mostly unique designs.

Zeus' first product was a rebrand/repackaging of a flowermate. They May have something original this time. My guess is that this vape will be very similar to the Vivant Alternate, which is a China produced, American-sold design that features a cooling unit.

This could be an awesome device, could be a shit device. No way to know til it's out. It's a good sign that the employee had some vape knowledge, though. There are some vaporizer companies that employ people who literally know as much as my grandmother about vapes.

But, it is gold, gold I tell ya.

And then there is silly me, wanting to see vapor ... Shut up, did you not hear, gold!?

Yeah, that was an infomercial for it, not a review. You need usage to be a review.

Vapesterdam and Tvape or whatever, with their "reviews" for Zeus products, which they sell, put a bad taste in my mouth...like their products which just didn't feel up to snuff when a friend of mine bought one and tried to convince me I was an idiot for buying a Crafty.

Looking at the design, I see that mouth piece as a real problem. I can't imagine it will be comfortable and with all that heat, it could he hot too. The shaking mechanism is neat, but I don't really like that - I'm a buttons kinda guy. Usually I can fix those if that's the problem.

I'm also leery of the materials and assurances of quality control between two slightly different units.

Iunno. I think the unit is very neat from a novelty standpoint, but I don't think I'd buy it unless it turned out to be legitimately better than what I have now in a big way.

"Thick vapor from the very first draw. Something not a lot of conduction vapes can say."

Actually ALL conduction vapes can say that lol. It's the nature of a conduction vape.

I like the idea of the power pack coming with the vape, although at this point in time I am not looking to invest in another vape that isn't USB-C. Any idea on the temps of each level? Not impressed that they are all over 400 degrees as I vape around 355 with my Air 2.

A package reached my home today, the Zeus Arc GT!

They was fast, they told me last wednesday they was agree to send me one device, received the tracking friday and the package today.

Packaging is awesome! It's like to open a luxury chocolate box... They send me the full package including the grinder, a nice safety case and an awesome power bank... and the Zeus Arc GT!!!

To be honnest I was afraid this spectacular packaging (I will post a pic if I can...soon) hide a lot less amazing vape. But after one unique session I changed my mind, this vape is well made, provide quality vapor, seems efficient as hell (only tested on setting 2 for a bit less than 10mn), medicates but the taste suffered of a faint silicone taste coming from the silicone in the vaporpath and on the top of the bowl. For me this is not a no-go but I know it is for numerous members here... I hope silicone taste will disappear with time.

I was surprised how short is the vaporpath and how smooth the vapor is in the maintime.

Looks like full conduction but I need tests to be sure... Heating time is around 40s at setting 2.

Bowl is large but device comes with a mesh pad screen (gold) designed for half load.

Just to mention... the weed I used is not cured enough, it rains and buds are not crumbly at all. Maybe this is affect clouds production (which is already pretty good for me) and the taste which suffers of the new car taste and the lack of curing of the load.

    More to come... thanks

ps: it looks like a hair smaller IQ without the t° adjustment, sadly.

Just an update, it will be possible to change T° settings through a future Application (don't know which sort for now), actually they are 212,220 and 230. Vapor production is great at 212 but I need to wait for launch in November to get the App avalaible.

I might have the chance to check out this unit today and if so I shall let FC know how it is!

Edit: so, I was surprised! It was really small and seemed well built. The silicon mouthpiece was awkward at first but it put out decent vapour. It handled .08 pretty well and the vapour was very cool. I wouldn't discount this vape and the 250 pricepoint I was quoted isn't outrageous by my estimation.

If I didn't have a bunch of vapes, I would consider it. If someone said they were looking at it, I wouldn't disuade them from the purchase.

For infos the application is not an App for i-phones but only one for computers (pc and Mac), can't wait to get it to try lower temp sessions.
Yes it is, consistent vapor and taste improved for me after the classic silicone "new" taste faded, the smooth vapor is one of the main pro of this vape, it's incredible considering the rather short vaporpath.
Considering the building quality and the luxury packaging I am agree! Although I would suggest a replacement mp (in case you lost the first one) or even a alternative replacement mp without silicone in the vaporpath for purists!

I put my Zeus under heavy use (for me) and vape 3-4 bowls per day with, battery life is strong and the magnetic pik is a great addition. Main cons are the airflow restriction (I would consider it as a very limited airflow vape) and the heating time similar to a 2-3 years old tek (but they assured me it's needed in order to get a good vapor production...

But it's a very stealth and enjoyable vape in the go if you are not hurry, you can hide it in your palm, no protubering mp and I love the design&feeling in hand!

I have a question for reviewers and fans!! I was excited initially about the GT version with the 24 caret gold plating?? My bubble was burst when someone pointed out that the plating of gold is so thin that from a physics standpoint it cannot dissapate heat much better than stainless steel?

Seems more like a marketing gimmick vs. sound engineering? Also, do not care for the fact it is made in China. Could one of the reviewers put the gold plating question to the manufacturer? I was hot to buy a GT but bought the latest version of the Mighty instead. Still getting used to the Mighty after 8 months of the Sticky Brick OG. Love the OG but tiring of screen changing and butane lighters.

I don't care if the stuff was depleted uranium (LOTS of mass...right), there simply isn't enough mass in that gold plating (of whatever purity) to heat sink doodley squat.

Think small number of early reviewers are saying there is a performance difference between base model and GT version? Hope this comes into question when these units get out in the field. Just based on my limited use and reading it seems we are a ways away from the perfect conduction and convection vapes. A lot of it goes to personal preference.
