Why Do <YOU> Get Vaped?

Lots of great responses. Of the ones I have read so far the following apply to me; relieve undiagnosed anxiety, dream suppression, pain relief for a degenerative disc and divirticulitis, stress relief from a boring/crappy joy, and most importantly... it makes me a calmer more caring and happy person.

Great thread!
I use herb medicinally for PTSD and joint pain :myday: and I also use it recreationally and socially with friends. I have experienced some pretty gnarly stuff in my life, and Herb can help me to relax and not be so anxious which is a direct result of PTSD. I have tried to avoid prescription anti- anxiety meds for a lot of reasons, and I have found herbs work best for me in this regard. Also not in an MMJ state which can be a really big hassle as well. I have found that for my medicinal needs portables can do the job, but my favorite (and most effective vape sessions) are at home with my glass collection, and my best gal by my side! :peace:

I've been using this forum for a long time, gathering info, finally decided to join today :)

My weed saga:

Growing up where I did, I was offered plenty of pot at a young age. I always loved the way it smelled but was too scared to try it until 13-14. Tried it, didnt get anything from it. For YEARS I would smoke socially, not really seeing why weed was so popular, and thinking it must be more of a placeebo high than anything. Then, around the age of 20,21, I started dating a girl who was a big pothead. After the first couple of times we smoked together, I guess my body had finally been properly introduced to MJ, and I finally saw the light, and fell in love with the high. Loved everything about it. Took away my stress, anxiety, put a smile on my face, made every event memoriable and all the worrying details vanish. Even though I now absolutely loved MJ for some reason, I kept it as a weekend only thing. Me n this girl dated on/off for 2-3 years before breaking up, I had already quit smoking by then. Didnt smoke for another 2 years (during which a horrible, short term marriage came and went) and I finally reminded myself of that sweet woman who would never decieve me, went and bought the most overpriced sack of brickweed I'd ever bought and got the highest I'd ever been in my life.

Well over those last couple years, my health had declined in several different areas, and I was starting to realize the medical benefits beyond the ever needed mood enhancements. I quickly became a daily smoker. Having always had respiratory problems, smoking bowls irritated my throat. I heard about vaporizing, and started doing research online. My first vape was an 'oobie' user-lit one hitter style vape. As soon as I got the first hit, I knew I had switched over.

Now I have an Extreme Q, thanks to info on this forum mostly. I have also just ordered a Solo, and am clearing out all my combustion pieces that have little sentimental value. Right now, I could list multiple mental and physical issues that marijuana addresses. Vaping turns an old time method into a modern one, that reduces the sides effects of inhalation to nothing more than cottonmouth. You can medicate in public, without bothering others. The flavours that are extracted are an extra bonus, plus vaping is more efficient. I still keep a pack of papers around, but I havnt lit a bowl in my own home for quite some time now ;)

I like this post, I hope your health issues arent serious.
Also, I own a Q, after friends (smokers) tried it they loved it, one ordered the following day.....
Oh, and another friend has to get a solo after trying mine. You'll love it.

As a newb sorta, I'm glad a thread I made is catching steam. Reading and relating to some of these can be therapeutic.

Lets all get vaped

The flavor of the herb is way more pleasing than when combustion.
Serves as an alternative to pain medicine for me as well.

Well I still haven't started my vaping era of my life yet (tomorrow they come), I'll tell you what happened, and why I'm starting to vape and giving up combustion.

Well, like a bunch of people, I started in high school. It was awesome. I loved it. But I didn't do it all the time. Occasionally with friends and family. Fast forward a little, still in high school, I'm 17 and have incredible stomach pains. Go to hospital. They can't figure it out. Send me home in 4 days. I get better.

Get to college and start becoming more of a daily smoker due to the people around me. However, when I turned 21, my stomach pains came back and haven't gone away since. Fast forward a decade or so, and from the moment I wake up, to the moment I go to sleep, I have stomach pains. MJ is the only thing I have found that allows me not to have stomach pains, and also gives me an appetite. They classify this as IBS (but I don't really have the C or the D piece, just pain). No doctor can give me anything that works. I've tried Paxil, I've tried Elavil, I've tried some crazy antibiotic treatment, nothing works. So I've been combusting.

Now, my lungs have been ravaged for the past 2 years or so, and I've been coughing up black stuff more lately, as well as various other colors. So I went to the lung doctor and he told me to stop smoking but didn't see anything wrong with Chest X-ray. So before I cause irreparable damage, I'm moving to vaporization. I ordered the WISPR and the Extreme Q as my first vapes, and I just hope they are effective for me, as I am a daily combuster (2g's a day or so). I plan on giving up combustion fully as soon as I get my vapes :-)

WELL,, because it simply feels AMAZING.. Just all of the feelings you can experience while using the herb is incredible. It stimulates so many different parts of the body and truly makes you feel alive and as if you are a part of the universe and helps show you that you matter just as much as anything else.

I love how it can calm you down, lift you up, make you laugh, make food taste fucking amazing, orgasms are out of this world, you become the music, you are in the TV, you can just be & Everything just feels "better"!!

I also love all of the therapeutic benefits that it truly has. It can help so many people who are experiencing pain or suffering. It is truly sad that in today's age of being technologically "savvy", we would still have a mass population dumbed down by the media and anti cannabis. Hopefully some day people can change their views and start reaping the benefits of getting HIGH.

I really enjoy how the herb can connect many populations of people. It is an instant I LIKE YOU and let's commence partaking in the sharing of the herb to complete out coolness. I just love that! :) how can you not?

I started smoking every day almost 4 years ago (high school for me). I tried it curiously when my buddy passed me a joint a year before that and I just loved the feeling. I started smoking everyday when things got quite a bit more stressful for me and for years I've had mild depression, cannabis helps me get through, and puts the stress and depression away. I also have adhd and joint pains (which scare me because I feel I am too young to be having it so much, only 19):\ , it helps for those.
It also helps me eat and sleep of course. Mostly eat though because for some reason if i dont vape I usually puke.
Most of all, it makes me a lot happier, and allows me to see this dark world in a different light. It also enhances my out-of-the-box thinking as well as musical creativeness as you said. And of course its always been fun, smoking or vaping!
The reason I purchased my first vape was really just out of novelty cause I had extra money, because I had a decent first vape experience. Now I like EVERYTHING about it better, my old smoke bong hasnt been hit in months.

run high
I used to smoke weed as a teenager but in my early 20s I started feeling paranoid on it and it stopped feeling good, so I quit. Now I'm in my late 30s. I recently had a pothead housemate who was high all the time, and I got worried about second hand smoke, and I could hear her coughing a lot. So I did a little web research and discovered vaporizers. I bought a GotVape Aroma Classic (box vape). She tried it out but said she enjoyed smoking instead. Since there was a lot of weed around, I tried it myself and was surprised that it felt great, unlike my last experiences. My first time getting vaped, I went out for a night run in the rain. It felt great!

Also, for the first time in about a year, I stopped obsessing about my ex-girlfriend who had dumped me. I compulsively called her and sent her emails, even when she told me to leave her alone. I hated how I could not make myself stop. I could see myself being a stalker and it made me really unhappy. But since I've been vaping I don't feel any need to bother with her. I really like how cannabis re-orients my consciousness to what is happening at the moment. I feel it has been much more effective for my depression than Sertraline HCL (Zoloft). I have been able to approach women and have conversations with them, and not take everything so seriously.

There are people who drink coffee all day, basically every day. I don't see this as being a lot different. I would hope I have the control to not be somewhat medicated all the time, but for now it seems to have increased my quality of life.

Hey if vaping can replace the Zoloft and the ex-girlfriend then vape on!
Getting over a broken heart takes time and great weed! :brow:
Being medicated most of the time is great if you can swing it.
If not, then just use it when you feel the need. The high is very
effective for introspection, check it out!

for me its a method of aligning my self with my environment without external hindrances...pure me in total awareness. its my flashlight in this dim universe for which to see further and deeper. well, that and i guess everything else too. :spliff:
you make me want to lay a trench in my MFLB and lay down in the damp grass at 1 or 2 am tonight, maybe even naked, and hit that herb while watching the moon and the stars! Btw im high right now and ripped a trench with people about 2 hours ago. So much better than SMOKING!!! (although i still want a cigarette, lol.)

Love it man, so true. I myself have been trying to get back on this train lately. At the most I take 2 hits upon waking at 6am on mornings I need it, and no more until at night when all of my responsibilities of the day are done. This is opposed to getting too high before work/at lunch/in the car everywhere.

Cutting back and going back to vaping only at night has made it easier on the wallet, and I really can get elevated off a bowl or two now. Feels so satisfying to me, especially on the days I can hold out all day without cravings and happily occupy myself with other things :)

I very much like your post. I could just cut and paste certain quotes, but you shared a lot of wisdom throughout. All I want to say is I'm in a similar situation, I just got a vape, and im very, very, satisfied.
With smoking weed I was not really enjoying the high except when I was in the moment with smoking. After smoking id essentially be back down, even though still under the influence. Vaping, however helps me feel a much more heady high, like in my head. It feels like I used to get from when I would mainly take grav rips, without the burnt out feeling, plus now I get to collect AVB! :D
I could keep talking but I'm getting distracted so I'm gonna stop. Happy vaping!!!!

Hi - I'm new here, first post.

New to vaping, but have smoked weed on and off for around 15 years.

Agree with many of the reasons people have posted so far, but my main reason for getting stoned these days is sexual. I find that THC works on me in the same way that I would imagine Viagra works (never tried V so I'm guessing) for others. I dont have a problem without weed, however I find that while stoned, sexual experience is hightened many many times - including far stronger and controllable erections, massively hightened sexual pleasure from touch, far stronger and longer lasting orgasms, ability to visualise sexual stuff in my mind, increased ability to please my GF and know what she wants. This works both when having sex or going, ahem, "solo" :) This is not my perception either, my GF (who doesnt get stoned) notices a big difference in stoned sex vs non stoned.

Wondering if anyone else has this experience? I have found that I have become slightly addicted to this - however I'm not worried, in fact I feel good that I have found something that makes one of lifes already great things MUCH greater!

Other reasons I like to get high are:

relaxation after a hard day at work (I explained to my dad that this would be similar to the relief he feels after a cup of tea after work)

to focus my mind on creative work (web design / creating music / cooking)
to connect with nature when outside
to enhance admiration for something pleasing to my eye (a landscape or scenery)
to enhance my enjoyment of media (films etc...)
to enhance pretty much anything....

As they sing in Family Guy.... "Everything is better with a bag of weed"...

D

I like your post dude. I remember the first few times i had stoned sex.. amazing. . Anyway, im posting right now because i stopped waking n baking except for if i have a day off. Today however, i took 2 mild drags from my MFLB before work. It was the perfect amount because i didnt get stoned beyond all repair like i usually do because of my compulsive brain always telling itself that it needz more. Instead, i aquired the slightest buzz which was all in my head, no body, since i vaped Sativa. All in all, im proud of myself for smoking the correct amount for once in the correct situation, rather than going balls out like i usually prompt myself into doing! I think one of the great parts about vaping is the control it gives you over how high you wanna get, since you have access to more of the subtleties of the herb. Does anyone else feel this way?

Cereal_MF,

neve13

i think i overmedicated.
I vape to help with nerve pain and the anxiety associated with that pain.

I used to be an Olympic caliber swimmer until I got hit with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I wasn't getting proper circulation in my arm. As a distance swimmer, prolonged periods of time without circulation obviously isn't good! I've had five surgeries now and deal with nerve pain on a daily basis. Vaporizing MMJ doesn't erase the pain by any means but it certainly dulls it and helps me focus on other things. I live a much more normal life because of vaporizing. Without it I'd be a miserable miserable person hooked on oxycodone.

Another new guy here:

I split on a Da Buddah vape with my college roommate almost a year ago and it has proven to be one of the best decisions I have made. Before buying a vape, I had been a daily combuster for about two years (before which I had never tried weed... I grew up in a very conservative town in Northern Canada where weed is hard to come by). I was 17 when I moved by myself to a larger city and was soon introduced to the mighty ganja.

I found that initially, weed provided me with an incentive for completing my coursework. If would tell myself that if I got my readings completed I could smoke a bowl later that night. That system worked out quite well for my first two years of college, but then I began smoking before I would bother working. Soon, I realized I was not getting as much done, and my grades were dropping. Since I'm in a pre-med program, this was a problem. I knew that if I wanted to keep smoking and stay in my program, something would have to change.

My third-year roommate had described his previous vaping experience as 'more of a body high' and 'very relaxing'. He took me to another student's house where I got to try the Silver Surfer. I loved the high. I felt more in control of my thoughts, and yet those familiar, comforting effects of the bud felt stronger than they ever had with a bong or joint. I agree with many of the descriptions that others have provided, but I will add that I get virtually NO paranoia from the vape high, which is a big bonus for me.

Back to the story: my roommate and I soon purchased our own vape online.

Once I started vaping during the day, I tried to focus on coursework despite the fact that I was often fighting off munchies or the desire to play Team Fortress 2. It wasn't easy to focus at first, but gradually I learned how to do all of my work vaped, and it got to the point where I could do it fairly well.

When I combust, I find that my thoughts get too cloudy to do anything very productive. I only combust when I know I have time to simply lie back and enjoy the effects. But I vape almost every day as soon as I get home, and my marks have returned to the level they once were, or even a little higher.

tl;dr: I prefer the vape experience because I can still write/ read. I am also calmer, more sociable, and better in bed while I am baked. Whenever I go home to visit, I make sure I bring my MFLB and a small baggie of herb so that I can 'survive the drought' as I describe it. I have introduced a few buddies who never made it out of my hometown to the vape experience and they promise to spread the word even further :).

I agree with what u mentioned about the effects of vaping in contrast to combustion. However, i have yet to vape more than 1 trench back to back with my MFLB. I have yet to experiment with vaping an excessive amount in 1 sitting. Anyone kno if ill just hit my usual plateau or if i will be shot even further into space?

If I hit two or three cloud ELBs (.6->.8g) pretty close to each other, not even directly after, I will go to sleep. However I could probably smoke 4g's and be fine TBH.
