that's a pretty awesome whip set-up you've got there paytonpenn. definitely a nice addition to accessories for the Dog. Is that the MFLB WPW that you used to make it?

I guess I can understand this. You gotta get tougher, though! It's your hard work and your portfolio! Curious eyes are dying to see all these pieces!

Not to worry, you guys get to see the vast majority of the pieces made.. I don't think we've had a person from here who has commissioned a piece that didn't share it.

It is, I got it from Magic-Flight's WPW giveaway but I don't really use my MFLB with water. But I did repurpose the 14mm glass piece for the underdog.

EDIT: But I wouldn't mind a Ambrosia Maple WonG one day

You're right Will, it is the small things.. we couldn't agree more. Let us know if you need anything else, hope you enjoy your weekend. :)

We were plugging along here making good progress, finishing UDs for the refresh and making WonGs when I had a piece of work bind up, break the tool and throw what was left of it at me which ended up with my hand impaled by the tool leftovers. Ouch. Doesn't look so bad because it was such a narrow tool but it went deep, all the way to the bone and partway into it. I don't care how many times it happens I never learn to like looking at the inside of my own body let alone inside a bone lol. :freak:

Anyways, after I patch myself up and take a break I'll finish this Dog nonetheless.. I think I'll call him a Surly Dog.

Guess that makes you an official 'lost dog' Dave. Take care of yourself, the world needs more fog.

I know I'm about to get a few cringes, but I've never actually seen the Holy Grail start to finish. I've probably seen at least half of the movie just in clips, but start to finish in it's intended order... nope. It will happen some day.;)

Dave, I know it's been said before but I'm sitting here vape in hand, and I've got to thank you for the quality shit you're putting out... and I mean 'shit' to translate into 'awesome vapes'. I'm only combusting under duress now (out at a friends, etc), haven't rolled up on my own in weeks. Has IMO significantly contributed in my effort to get off the 'baccy (but maybe that belongs in another thread), and generally improved the way I medicate. Not really sure if I've made you any actual sales, but everyone who comes around leaves with a wide ass grin on their face after an introduction to the pup, and asks where I got it.

It's cool to see an example of the 'good guy' making it.

Enough fog-ranting, just felt all warm and cheery, thanks UD.

Edit: So... bad news. Beer spill in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sent an e-mail, thought this might get seen faster, not sure. Ugh

First post on this forum. I just wanted to thanks Dave on here and let you all know how happy I am with my UD log vape. It took some time for me to figure out how to get the best out of it, but after preheating the UD with slightly higher voltage of +/-13.5dc and the addition of a water bubbler, I’m drawing really satisfying smooth hits. At the moment I don’t feel the need to improve on this any further, very happy with this setup.

You’ve all been a great inspiration, very fortunate to have come across the FC forum. Thanks again!

Ok UDs - Last chance to submit a design to be considered for our second sticker. Dave and I are going to pick one tonight and get it and our standard sticker sent out for printing soon!

Thanks so much to everyone who has submitted an idea so far - we always enjoy seeing what you UDs come up with!

Heya Dogs, one thing I'll be doing this year is some special runs of Dogs (litters if you will) of some various special woods that I happen to have in decent amount. Black Oak and Walnut would be some likely candidates but I also have this to consider, some Blue Pine.

What do you all think? This stuff is pretty and has some special significance as it is being selectively logged and milled personally by a close friend of mine. Thoughts?

Not my style, or needs a different shape maybe?
Particularly it's that the blue part just kind of fades into the lighter and looks kind of dirty?
I'll probably end up eating these words and find an awesome looking one out of that litter, but as long as you're asking for input thought I'd voice that.

I like the 'pack' idea. Different forms of the same wood, all bunched up together and posted here to tease the members? Yeah :brow:.

After last nights little mis-hap I may be in the market for a replacement anyway lol. Need to get off work so I can figure that out.

Edit: Plugged her in, and we've got heat. No sparks or glowing from the inside, and it's now putting off some kind of beer vapor. My question -- am I good to start vaping when up to heat? I know there will be some kind of 'off' taste for a while but I was thinking maybe drawing air through there might help it dry out and not have any kind of lingering smell.

Not that I'd advise anyone to do the same, but this little pup sure can stand up to some abuse. I'm impressed (yet again).

That's the great thing about the dogs! There's a different style for everyone and not just a one-size-fits-all is all you get. Though I don't think the picture does this blue pine any justice. The "muddied" part is actually pretty neat in real life, like a silvery-blue vein of gold running through the wood.

I love it!

It's smiling at me :)...more of a wicked smile

Yeah man I think you got a possessed model. The souls of all the lost dogs trapped in one model, come back for vengeance.

Or some bad ass grain.

Is that one of the Black Oak ones?

@'dogette

I've got a hit-and-miss sense of aesthetics anyway. But now that you mention it I can think of several early posts I read before buying mine that weren't super impressive in the ad-shots but were absolutely beautiful blown up and in different lighting, etc. Like I said, I'm sure Dave will find a way to make me feel pretty dumb about calling out that grain, but you guys are putting out some great looking pieces, regardless. I'm one of those grain-starers myself :).

Oh no! Don't feel dumb! But Dave does make sure that the pictures don't ever over-inflate... Would rather somebody feel like their dog is much more awesome when they get it, than to feel like the picture over-sold it. :)

No worries, I meant that in a 'show me what ya got' way, rather than a self pitying way .

I can hear it now, 'hold on, can't update the site yet, gotta ugly up these pictures a little bit' LOL.
I'm done ranting now, haven't had any time with the 'dog all day and now that she's back up and running the haze has got me all jabbery. Plus, I have a feeling you're gonna need some time to turn another tapered stem .

I'm guessing that those Blue Pine ones might come with a side-helping of good karma, right?
