Also if your batteries fit tight you may have trouble twisting to pull them out. I took a

Just put the little black battery cap on the end of the battery to use as a grip.

That's a good idea--if he has the caps. I'm guessing he doesn't. I say that because from what he's told us I deduce that he has an early LB, and they didn't add the caps until February 2010. The early LBs shipped with Eneloops, which are smaller diameter batteries. I think now he's using another brand which is a bit larger so they sometimes bind a bit. The early LB would have been adjusted to the smaller diameter batteries.

Or, I could be out to lunch, in which case I repeat, good call.

My Review

I started reading this site and of course if u read this thread and you don't have a vaporizer your gonna wanna buy this magic flight box. i was gonna wait till Christmas but then i kind of impulsively bought it one night online. I bought it so i can safely get high in my dorm room at college during the winter and not freeze my balls off outside.

Anyway, the first time i used it i couldn't tell if i was using it correctly and i kind of hated it. I thought this site was full of shit. But the second time i got used to it and started figuring this ghuy out.

This morning i ground up my usual combustion amount (6 cigarette one hitters) and put it in my trench. Which is a full trench exactly. This lasted me two smoke sessions! this made me love my little bowx so i came here to give her 2 thumbs up :D

and must i say THIS SHITS FUCKIN TINY

716acdefb42b12883829540.jpg

only worries i have that it will give out at some point. seems kinda delicate.

Pros

Very small and discrete
seriously gets you higher off less weed
minimal smell
works well

Cons

Very delicate/breakable screen
very confusing at first
definitely a technique for the best hit

it's actually quite a tough lil guy.....just be careful with the screen.....dont use anything sharp on it and dont poke at it.....and remember the box has a lifetime warranty and an amazing company with fantastic customer service to stand behind it.

I mean if my screen clogs up too much how am i supposed to send that in ? just sayin

i have been magic flightless for about a week and personally it completely blows, had to combust for a bit which yielded some poor results, luckily i have a couple PDs on the way but hopefully i can get another mflb by the end of next month

Does this post even make sense? lol.

Also i had a question: If you turn on your MLFB via battery with no marijuana in the unit, and you touch the screen will you burn yourself?

that post made sense to me, maybe your too baked? LOL

Although I don't own a MFLB yet, now that i see it i want it bad (got a Iolite summer 2009). I woulda much rather spent 100 instead of 200-250 for the Iolite. don't get me wrong Iolite is awesome, has it uses for sure and I think suits many situations. but I really wanted it for stealth and if your in a quiet room or whatever the SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH it makes is a little bit of a problem.....unless of coarse you make calming beach sounds as a distraction LOL

anyways to answer you question...yes I would assume youd burn yourself as it is possible to combust in it (smoke). it works the same way as if you held a wire on both ends of a battery.....within about 2 secs u'll be letting go cuz it gets super hot. thats the byproduct of the flow of power moving. in the MFLB case the screen.

Actually, I just had a warranty issue this week. On Monday afternoon I sent an email to the manufacturer with 2 cell phone photos of the front and back of the unit (showing a tear in the screen - my own fault, by the way as I was poking at the screen with a toothpick). The very next day the mailman brought me a brand new replacement unit. Less than 24 hours from taking pictures of my damaged unit I had a replacement sitting in front of me! I don't know about you, but that's pretty damn good customer service in my opinion.

I also had a warranty issue (actually 2), and had to be issued a replacement LB. Each time was no cost to me, and I received the replacement in a couple days. Magic Flight really is an awesome company, with an awesome product. :D

This thread contains quite a few stories about people who had their lifetime warranty honoured. It even covers your own neglect. One poster poked a hole in the screen because he was testing to see how delicate it was. He got a replacement LB. The warranty is the real deal.

As for your screen, see:

I've had two warranty replacements. The first box didn't get hot enough. The second worked fine for a little while, then it started running cooler. The current box has worked like a champ with no issues whatsoever. I dropped it with the cover open and it snapped off. Magic Flight sent me another cover. It isn't a "supposed warranty." Folks don't generally rave over customer service if the company isn't holding up its end of he bargain.

You don't need the rubber cap if you don't peel your batteries all the way. If you peel down only the top half, then the bottom half gives enough insulation to avoid the tingling feeling of flowing electricity.

At least it works for me, but I have super-dry palms, I even had some direct contact with some 220V wires a few times (I like to tinkle with electronics), but it didn't hit me that hard.

Anyway here's what I meant:

My first box had some problems and stopped heating up properly so they sent me out a replacement. My first model was before the rubber ring and even the battery push back ring were implemented. This newer model seems to have just a rounded area under the acrylic in the top right by the battery slot. In my earlier model there isn't a rounded area it looks like it was carved into an n shape with some kind of bit. The lip at the top of the n shape held the herb from escaping out the back of the box I noticed.

The lid is like supercharged with static and 1/4 of the bud or so is getting sucked up to it. Then due to the the rounded area there is a gap and the herb is coming out the back of the box eventually as it works its way out from being shaken/mixed up.

Anybody know of anyway to fix the static and keep herb from escaping out the back or is this just a design flaw with the specific box I received (rounded out a little too much)?

Edit: The main reason I think its getting to the back of the box is the static doesn't allow me to tap it down and have it fall back in. It's getting stuck to the acrylic near where the copper element is wrapped and eventually going out the back. Also, is another material being used now instead of copper? The soldering to attach the screen also looks more durable. Seems like 2 solid improvements if so and it heats up in 2-3 seconds now my previous LB took around 5-6 even when new and not broken in.

Just posted this in the LB thread and figured since i took the time to put it in here as well

I'll give you my grinder recommendation.

Proctor Silex

http://smallcoffeegrinders.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Proctor-Silex-grinder.jpg

Grinds so freaking well, I bought this one after using a mr coffee one and the new one blew it out of the water.

Also added perk to it is that angle that changes on the top of it. Do you see it there? Its almost like a window?

That collects kief compressed basically. And it collects a LOT. So if you want it all its right there for ya. Or just put it back in the bud. I just put it back cause the LB does wonders with the kief.

And its significantly quieter compared to others.. So it doesn't sound like your turning on a damn vacuum at midnight.

Lowfront, or anybody else that can answer this question...Been looking at getting a coffee grinder to vape bubble. Just wondering if its worth it to order this grinder or if i should just get one at wally mart. I like that u say its quiet, that would be nice. Also just want a nice consistent grind. Thanks guys (and girls)

Hello everyone, been following this thread for several weeks. Had to make an account for the possibility of getting a power adapter second round hehehe.

First of all, I just wanted to say you guys did an amazing job on the MFLB. You guys are pretty much revolutionizing the vaping industry--small, affordable, efficient, solid construction and a great warranty. In addition, you guys are working directly with your customers and giving us what we want: the power adapter.

Happy vaping everyone!

I Just got mine today and I used it 3 times so far with great results. This little thing is pretty powerful for its size. Only problem I had was the plastic stem tube cracked and broke, I emailed them to see if they can send a replacement. A wall power adapter would be pretty slick to have for extended indoors use. FC!

Practice using it native a few times. I really think you'll come to enjoy that more than using the tube.
Once you get a feel for it, the 'connectedness' is close to the feeling of hitting a joint.

I also still prefer using the acrylic stem, and mine also cracked a bit on both ends, but it's holding together for now.

I'm practicing native mode, especially in covert operations, like a normal (non-weedy) birthday party, parents' houses, etc., with great results.

I won't use my warranty for the stem, I'll cut it a bit shorter when the end breaks, and until it becomes too short I'll either learn to like the native mode or get another tube from somewhere (not MF).

You hit the nail on the head. The LB can give taste, hit and heat that is very close to smoking a joint.
IMO the bags on other vapes do not give the full body taste that the LB can.( volcano and vapir 5.0 )
I do find that the slow draw required by the LB can be a turn-off sometimes, and this
forces me to use another vape that pumps vapor when I'm lazy. I still feel that the LB is great, and the
wall socket thing should really put the icing on the cake, or trichomes in the trench.
I've used my LB every day for the last 5 months and it's working great. :ko:

Can anybody post a picture of how "ground" the herbs need to be?

I've had my MFLB for maybe a month and I still feel like I am using it wrong. I usually grind up the herbs in the little plastic-magnet grinder that mine came with, then dump that into a shot glass and cut with scissors. Thats about how "ground" I get it. I usually do one trench to the the "trench line"

Put in Battery, 5seconds, suck in slowly "sipping tea", then I try to hold it in as long as I can. I can't tell what I changed in my technique, but I constantly cough after taking hits (before the exhale). Also when I exhale I see a lot of the white vapor come out (which I read was "bad" and you wanted to exhale "invisible" vapor instead of "white" vapor)

Thanks
