hi, i just got my powerex aa 2700 mah batteries and was wondering if i have to peel anything off the batteries. it doesnt really look like anything can be peeled but id figured id ask

Ya, you have to peel the wrapper off. It should be just the silver battery, or else it won't work.

My very own MFLB should be here tomorrow, I don't think I'll stop reading this thread until it gets here! Thanks to everyone here for the great info, really helped me pull the trigger on it :)

Hey guys. got another question if you dont mind.
How do you know your not inhaling at low temperature and wasting weed? Was looking at a graph comparing draw rates and temperature, showing a harder draw can set the temperature down to 100. I know you can feel it to a certain extent but that could be off by alot. So regardless of how slow your pulling theirs no way to know what the temperature it is. If your actually getting enough out of your weed.

Literally the only thing stopping me from getting one.

All direct draw vaporizers are affected by your draw rate. Some of them deal with this well and maintain heater temperature. Obviously the LB is not one of those, but it doesn't follow that you don't know if you're getting enough out of your weed because you don't know the exact temperature.

If I draw too hard then the temperature will be too low so no vapour. If I don't draw at all through the box but inhale just through my nose (pyromon's technique) then the screen heats up enough to generate thick hot vapor, and if I don't remove the battery soon enough my load will start to combust. Since I can vary the draw rate anywhere in between, with a little experimenting I can get whatever effect I want from my LB--and so can you.

How would you know if your not hitting it at like 250? There's some stuff in the bud that combust before the THC, so you could just be getting the THC for a second. Or hitting at 300..., or barely releasing the THC.

Would the color still turn brown if the THC did not combust?

As far as the science of it goes, with the varied temperature of the MFLB would all of a compound be released if your on that temperature for part of a second? Say theres a CBD that burns at 380, it vapes at that temperature for a moment then drops under. Would ALL of that CBD in the bud be released in that instant or only a percentage of it.

(Thanks a bunch for the replies guys, seriously, learnt stuff i couldnt anywhere)

I don't think that there can be any exact scientific claims regarding the extraction of specific cannabinoids with the MFLB (or any other marketed vape on the market for that matter). For the box specifically, there is such a wide variation of temperature possibilities and implicating factors that I think the best indicator of the extraction process should be how you feel. :2c:

i don't know if it had been mentient,
we shouldn't put oil or hash in the LB...
but there was a video on youtube where someone put a small U-shaped piece of stainless screen in the trench,
and vaped some oil out of it,without clogging/damaging the screen.

i tried it with some aluminum foil from the kitchen and it worked, better than expected actually.

anyone else tried this or similar?

You shouldn't if you don't want to damage the box.

My AC adapter arrived Monday and WOW this thing takes the MFLB to a whole new level. Don't let looks deceive you, the AC adapter is very functional.

A question for those who have had theirs awhile- how many notches from max do you usually go?

Holy shit! The wiki page for this unit is almost as long as the thread! This thread seems to be growing exponentially.

The wiki page looks like it could be a final thesis on the Launch Box.

Hi,

So here is the link everyone has been waiting for: https://magic-flight.com:4200/buydpab/ar_home
Desktop Power Supply ordering/pre-orders will open in the morning (when the server has completed its backup). Initially, purchase and distribution of Beta units will be limited to FC membership only, specifically to those posters who have been active in this thread prior to the cutoff date. The current provisional cost is $59 plus shipping and applicable taxes (this figure will be revised once we have a better sense of our actual production costs).

For reasons of sanity, we ask that the link above not be posted or copied outside of this forum.

Have Fun!

Ranger617,
I bought my MLFB, and it doesn't heat up. The website says to send questions regarding warranty to blissville.com. Will they replace it when I bought it from a head shop?

Every day that goes by... I love the MFLB just a little bit more. This Vaporizer has really grown on me. Once I learned how to inhale properly on this thing, it has been giving me amazing rips. I love how you can vaporize within seconds. However, I don't really like the battery life on them.

Under normal conditions, the box will not cause combustion but the colour will still turn brown and maybe even black. And I am not too sure about this but I think the green colour comes from the chlorophyll in the plant which evapourates quickly under heat, leaving behind mostly carbon (black) and cannabinoids (slightly yellow), creating a brown colour.

The temperature inside the chamber varies so not everything will be vapourized all at once. The part of the stainless steel mesh that is between the two copper wires is where the heat is produced.

Here are some useful charts with the boiling point of many cannabinoids.

anyway i m in trouble for some additional batteries , i can't get powerex here in europe . so , after a looooong scientifical quest , sanyo 2700 or duracell 2650 seem to be quite good before i finaly find powerex .....could any of you magic flight "doctors" longtime owners give me some advice , which one is best sanyo or duracell ? thanks a lot take care and viva the vapolution

Fabrice you are in luck, since you are in Europe you can buy the new Sanyo Eneloop XX 2500mAh batteries. The reports on these are very good and they guarantee a minimum of 2400mAh which is basically what my Powerex 2700's measure in at, but you get the bonus of a LSD battery with the Eneloops. Here is some info

Got to use a PA at a superbowl party and I must say that all the great reviews are most certainly spot on. If I could add a recommendation it would be to use a more flexible cable between the PA and the LB. I know it is thick and heavy duty to carry the current required, but other cable types are available that can move more current while being thinner and a lot less rigid.

Here is an example, Deans Wet Noodle wire http://www.wsdeans.com/products/wire/index.html
Any R/C enthusiast will know that Deans makes very high quality, high power connectors, wires etc.

I also wonder if now that the PA is available if magic-flight will release a LB that is engineered specifically to take advantage of the increased power available with the PA. I would imagine that a lot of compromises were made in the current LB design due to the power restraints of today's AA battery technology.

I will be getting in line to get a PA, it really rocked my block.

DeepFried,
thanxx for your help guyz , i'm so fuckin nervous , they said it is supposed to arrive tomorrow , if the postman comes without i swear he's a dead man . i'm gonna tryout these new sanyo for sure , thanx for info compadre . i was expecting for powerex and powerfull equivalent ones coz you know , i ve been a long time fuckin cigarrette smoker , and so i need big strong hits to calm down my addiction . stupid habits of mine ... doctor says i got no choice ... so you see the little magic little friend is savin me men !
