Just got my LB a little more than two weeks ago and found this forum today. I was considering on getting the PD until I saw the power adapter. Will it be available in January?

The link there doesn't seem to work...

Hi,

Apologies -- link restored. We reset the server over the weekend and you noticed it. Should work fine now.

https://magic-flight.com:4200/buydpab/ar_home

At this point, it is open for general purchase, regardless of membership. People who want to be part of the Beta program but which do not have a FC account should the FC name blank. Please be advised, however, that we have a large backlog of orders, so there can be a delay of up to three weeks before we ship.

Just read through alot of posts. Sounds like a great product. Couple of questions; when the PA is available will you be able to order it through blisssville? Also, I saw mention of fancy wood being offered in the future for the MFLB. I love exotic woods. Can anyone tell me when this will be available and possibly what woods will be offered? Thanks!

I meant to ask when will the real power adapter be out(not the beta version)?
And is the beta version shipped in a discrete box?

My unit is the generation with the oring and pushback ring, but also with the copper plating over the stainless steel. The copper is visibly flaked away where the battery makes contact and I fear for my health, and other people's, but I also acknowledge I might just be cautiously paranoid and it poses no threat. Do you think MFLB would take a warranty return based on that flaking? I understand the new generation is stainless steel (way safer than copper) with no copper coating, which I'd vastly, vastly prefer and would have waited to purchase if I'd known there was to be an evolution of the design.

Don't be afraid, copper is practically harmless to humans, especially in such tiny quantities.

Im pretty sure the only differences in the beta compared to the final release (whenever that may be) are going to be mainly cosmetic. I'd jump on these if i were you

Link is above, you buy the pa straight from MF, not blisssville.

As far as the woods, keep an eye on this thread for info is all you can do. I'll be first in line with ya!

Hey magic-flight I'm currently in another country right now with out my LB; can I still order the adapter and give you the serial number later? I want to go ahead and just order it now since I will be moving in 3 weeks once I get back to the states.

Its a small, unmarked white box.....very discreet.

I have been buying 3000 mah batteries. They are Chinese imports under a couple of different labels, I am not sure of the ratings validity, but they do seem to get hotter than the originals. The only problem was that one pair was a bit tighter than usual and I worry that it might make the contact ring too loose, so I have not been using those.

I've had my MFLB for just over a year, and it's stopped working. No matter what variables with the ground material, or which battery I use, the thing just won't heat up. Its my favorite device for medication, (and possibly my favorite possession??)
What should I do? I know there's a warranty, but I really don't want to send back my current box because I got the side signed by the guitarist from a band I like.... What should I do?

Email MagicFlight. Tell them this.

You may or may not have to send it back, only way you'll find out is by trying.

My PA came in a small white box too, and one face was covered with the MF logo sticker. Not exactly discreet, but I check my own mail and don't really care if the postman knows I vape.

The MF logo on mine was under a white shipping label so it looked discreet coming out of the mailbox

@ magicflight -

Hi magic flight. Would you be able to confirm the following before I order one of your brilliant adaptors?

1) could you confirm that the power adaptor will work in the UK if I use a US-UK plug adaptor. Ie - 3 pins rather than 2?

2) could you also confirm whether there are any plans to make a car-usable version of the adaptor? If so, would this be an attachment to the current power adaptor or would it be an entirely new product?

Thanks very much.

after you charge the power ex 2700's, how long do you have untill they start to lose their charge.

The power supply ("wall wart") that came with my beta PA has a fixed two prong US plug, and the supply will work with 100-240 volts with no transformer needed, just a plug adapter.

Of course, I have no idea whether the power supply I received is the final choice that Magic-Flight will supply once the PA is out of beta. I'm sure they'll comment when they read our messages.

Mini Review of the Power Adapter:

Much like the comments from the other PA beta testers, I find the PA is really a perfect addition to an already wonderful device. It allows me to fine tune my hits to an even greater extent than just relying on different breathing techniques. When the PA is turned up past half way, vapor is available in under one second, and much thicker clouds of vapor can be realized than come from ANY battery.

Much like breath technique is a personal thing, using the PA is also a personal thing. You can fine tune your hit technique by holding the button down continuously while you breathe in, or you can repeatedly push and release the button during each hit if you're getting more vapor in a single hit than you want. You can fine tune how hot the load gets with the dial as well. It is MUCH easier to learn a technique you enjoy with the PA than with a battery and breath modulation. The PA also removes the variances between different Launch Boxes. You have a LB that runs a little cool for your taste? Just adjust the PA to a slightly higher setting. Your LB runs a little hot for your taste? Just adjust the PA to a lower setting. You dislike having to inhale so slowly with your LB? Just turn up the heat and inhale more quickly!

I have more than one LB here, including a very early beta LB, and they all run a little differently. I don't know if it's a battery contact difference or a screen bonding difference, but some run hotter than others when using the identical battery. With the PA, a small adjustment allows me have all my different LB's perform identically, and more importantly, exactly the way I prefer (which may be different from how you prefer).

Before the PA, I pretty much only used the LB when I was out; I have a Volcano Digit at home that I really like. Now that I have the PA, which I leave connected to a LB that sits on my desk next to my mouse, I find myself just reaching over and grabbing a hit whenever I want one. I press the PA button when I pick up the LB, and by the time it gets to my mouth it's ready to hit. Absolutely zero delay between when I decide I want a hit and when I get one. So my Volcano is getting a bit of a rest these days.

If this sounds like a positive glowing review, it's meant to.
