Tafée Bowle

I didn’t notice the lights but holy smokes. I noticed the battery life. I used to vape my Bowle in fear of being away from a charger. I would use it twice throw it on the charger because when I didn’t I’d be left high and dry. So I kind of lived in fear and kept it on the charger. Well fear no more! I did not count the bowls, but I use this bad boy all day still was functioning on battery level one when I put it back on the charger.

I’m on temperature 3 through 5. I’m the type of guy that has a portable bong everywhere I go. It felt good not having to utilize it and being completely comfortable.

My tip to get great vapor has been unique to the Bowle. What works for me? Is I take a deep inhale before I start inhaling. Not the type of inhale, where I’m lifting my chest up rather the type of inhale where I inhale until my stomach is super flat then I start inhaling, and my stomach slowly starts to come out without moving my chest. By the time my stomach has came out, usually around 10 to 15 seconds, I will have lungs full of satisfying tasty thick vapor. I know it sounds weird, but it works for me!

Thank you to Bruno and the team at Taffe for hanging in there and not giving up. I couldn’t imagine how hard it is to build a custom vape, which is hard enough on its own, but doing it through Covid and inflation must have been a tremendous challenge. I commend you on your resilience and your perseverance. Thank you.

This is a major win for me. This has found a permanent home in my bag. My bag now currently holds the Bowle, MiniVAP, Tinymight, and Cricket. I have never been happier with my bag!

I never had the original Bowle but definitely noticed the light pattern. My motorcycles have tachometer and shift lights the right to left way. I like the light pattern though, it's different. After 7 bowls, I'm just getting started. Flower only so far, flavorful and potent. I have never used a vape that is so cool and smooth but potent so far. I'm going to try some S.O.D.K. Sour Orange Diesel Kush and Mango Smile today. I was pleasantly surprised when I found 5 extra crucibles. I knew about the stubby stem and aluminum grinder though. This vape on 2 is as tasty as my Firefly 2 and Tightmight 2, also has a pure taste like glass. Again potent vape that is silky smooth. You really don't even need a cup of water.

Well it does a feel a bit different texture compared to my other two OG pucks, so maybe a different formulation in the coating will make this no longer any issue? I will not know until it comes time to deep clean these stems. Here’s hoping they addressed that and I eat my words. Cheers!

The scratch on my stem is at the little ball locking divot point. Because I stupidly tried inserting new stem in old Bowle, just too tempting not to try, like a toddler. Difficult pulling it out, thus the scratch. Can feel it with fingernail down to aluminum. Insertion "rail" marks already in puck. Been there, seen that

Hot ISO is a NO-NO, especially submerging stem with any surface scratches. Better to use room temp ISO inside stem, do the old thumb plugging, and shake. This is all old news, but thought I'd bore you with it again. Do not open the stem, no need, will likely strip screw head anyway

I'm in a 2 q-tip habit after dumping pot. First one to swab stem while resin still warm and hot pot cooling, second q-tip for pot. Can go for many months before stem needs iso shake IME and O. Most of resin accumulates below pot and in rear corner, q-tippable

Like others, not thrilled with the finish. But, I am thrilled with the firmware tweaks around draw sensing. (I use the press and release method, because my tremors get set off holding button down) Old Bowle was occasionally shutting off heater during draw, seemed very sensitive to draw variation/slowdown, lights going blue, grrrr. No more! So far anyway. I've tried to vary inhale and even paused for fraction of second...no shutoff, YAY. This was my main gripe from the beginning

Relaxing now, not feeling like I need to keep a steady firm inhale going to avoid the dreaded shutdown blues

For battery life testing, I was trying to draw like an "average" user, whatever that is. Started 6 draws per pot, but went to 7 near start of test, and increased draw duration. Longer draws are more productive, and I've been spoiled by ball vape results, so disappointing for me using level 3

Now I just start at level 4 and end there. Sometimes like to do the 23 second "Bowle Blinker"

I really hoped they would’ve changed the coating that gets peely when soaking the stem in hot iso. Anyone else bummed out by that? Only complaint I have. It’s just a better version of bowle
Like ChooChoo, I too will put a big no on hot iso and add no to room temp iso too.

IMO, on our expensive equipment use the least harsh method .
Only use iso for worst spots , and dab not soak.
Again, only soak if absolutely necessary.

PBW Powdered Brewery Wash safely cleans all parts of the stem and puck and baskets.
It safely cleans food grade lines in breweries and distilleries.
Easy peazy to let it soak in this safe solution.

I’ll have to try the PBW @MinnBobber. Hope all is well for you Bob. I did complete the room temp iso on the stem last night due to a combustion event on level 3.

I’m bummed. I’ve never had combustion happen on my og bowles on any level ever. The only thing I can think of that attributed to the combustion was either very dry flower or because I didn’t stir at all. I was actually testing to see how it would do without a stir as I’m typically a stir happy person.

I did notice a hotspot happening but I’ve dealt with hot spotting on my repaired OG bowle before so I will need to watch this more closely and try to stay under level 3. To my surprise no peeling happened after the iso bath but then there’s not a nick on the stem yet to expedite that.

Happy with the improvements overall, not so happy I tasted of smoke 😥

Maybe too tight of a pack in the pot?

Watching this closely. Cheers to all of you early adopters and thank you for sharing.

Very interesting to hear about that combustion event. I think it’s impossible to do that with my OG Bowle. Not necessarily a bad thing (I like power), but sounds like there have been some changes. I would welcome less draw restriction

Hmm. Less restriction sort of requires more heat unless you are asking the user to regulate their draw (which is a hard sell to the masses) sounds like this new one goes a bit hotter

Can somebody share a pic of how this vape looks when using it without the drinking cup attached?
Have a hard time imagining how it looks then tbh. Does the bowl slide in the "bottom compartment" or how does it connect with the heater?
So then it's just the stem standing in that bottom "puck"? Doesn't it look very strange?

And what's the deal about the stemfinish peeling off? The OG had that issue? And now this one has the same? It's the top layer of the outside of the stem (including the mp-end?) that comes off? I mean: this is a pretty expensive device so the finish shouldn't peel off (that easy) imo? But still: all the happy bowle users have just accepted that as a minor flaw or there's a solution or what?

Not trying to bash on it or anything like that but just trying to understand where all the love for this vape comes from. I mean: there's the somewhat 'strange' design (big, no HUGE understatement imo :D, it competes with the Venty imo ), the peeling stem and the first version also seems to have terrible battery-life but still it managed to get a big fan base... Does it really hit that unique and good?

Yes, it hits very good. Below is the OG with a stubby stem.

I haven’t had peeling or wear anywhere except the edges of the button, which is constantly being pressed and exposed to finger oils, etc. I soak the stems in room temp iso regularly. No issue there.

The early reports on battery life sound great. I would also welcome a bit more airflow. The Venty has spoiled me in that regard.

Yeah, you place the pot into the stem down at the bottom, then slide the stem into its dock. Pull out when finished and dump out the pot. Nothing to turn, twist, unscrew.
It doesn't look strange to me, but I 've been using an og for a long time now.
I mean, take a fresh look at the various apparatus used to vape cannabis -- any one of them looks strange at first!

We have not seen the issue yet on the new one, just one fellow scratched his by mistake, and of course a lot of people talking it all up.
I sure hope they've got a tougher finish on it now, they clearly have tweaked some prior areas of concern.

@letter never sent ,
I get better airflow with the silicone mp removed, just a big metal straw (the stem)!
For cleaning the stem, I run the stem (upright) under very hot tap water. Scoobies just flush out, it is clean in a minute or so. Occasionally an iso swab in the lower portion.

If it was unusually dry, that would be the factor, surprising though if there was no tamp and not even full bowl... I don't think it would have anything to do with the stirring, I think most of us do not stir with the bowle at all?? Sure some scorch is possible, but ignition should never be at that low really

Yeah, I’ve never come close to combustion with the original, even with slow draw level-4 blinkers and dry weed. I’m actually kind of shocked that it would be possible with the new one (discounting whatever it is that level-5 is capable of).

I attribute it to a scorch. It was not full on lit but could’ve been if continued the draw long like I normally do. Definitely got the smoke taste. Sorry to me it’s pretty must starting to combust.

Yeah there is a line, sometimes it crosses it without fully crossing it, sometimes it's just a little dark, convection such a spectrum!

I remember combusting with the og once. Reason was a slow absent mind draw. But cant remember how it was packed...
