anyone else like rolling up the wax into a big ball instead of just having little flakes.

I like to have one big ball of wax. I scraped my dish some more this morning and got this fine like crystaly powder... Coated a ball of sticky wax with it, now its hard like a marble... Big white cannacrack marble.

Just ran my fourth wax batch ever, and it came out so beautifully I just had to share! It's amazing what you can do with a little 5x butane and coffee filters!


Not sure what this strain was, but it had a sweet, almost lysoly sativa smell and taste, and a very up head-buzz. Just started blasting onto parchment and vac-purging with the last batch and it makes all the difference between goop and wax. Cheers!

Not bad man, I'm always scared about wax because its hard to tell the purge, but vacs for the win. Which brand of 5x you use?

"5x Power," it doesn't actually say it's quintuple refined on the bottle, but I've used Vector 5x before and I think I like this a little better.

Power's legit, one of my buddies swears by it. I'm not as much a butane head as of late, been looking into the wide world of solvents. But in terms of butane, I've seen some fine product with power.

Just gotta find what works for you and your product, if your using cans then your using three solvents at varying levels: n-butane, iso-butane and propane; it's kinda like bud, the best isn't always the one with one particular cannabinoid, but the best combo of them to fit your needs.

My personal preference is for sap, which is pretty much impossible to get from a dispensary. Unfortunately, most of the dispensaries in my area make their BHO from shake/trim rather than quality bud, and the product suffers as a result. Making your own from high quality bud is the way to go

Yes it is vac purged.
The single most important lesson I've learned is that impurities are your enemy. All it takes is a little moisture, some residual butane, or too much plant wax, and your you'll end up with budder instead of sap or shatter. I only use only high quality buds. I make sure the buds are dry. I use as little butane as possible, and I try to keep my temperatures as consistent as possible during the purge process.

Ive been diving into making my own concentrates, my next upgrade is a vacume pump, been using a handheld brake bleeder pump which doesnt really get it done. Went from a SSTB to a large boro glass extraction tube that holds about 75 grams, although ive yet to blast that much.

The top photo is GPD and the lower is AK-47. Both purged in a vacuum oven.

No offence, but that one in the middle looks like diarrhea...is it supposed to be that glossy looking?

That one is one of the best budders I've had. The gloss isn't that unusual for budders
