Scientific bubbler or tube with Extreme Q

Hi, I have the Extreme Q vaporizer (Solo as well), and want to get a nice scientific bubbler or perc tube, and would like user opinions as to which would be better with the Q. I have never used a scientific piece, and after looking at numerous pieces of both varieties, I am guessing it comes down to a matter of size. Most of the bubblers I was interested in are under 12 inches tall, and most of the tubes were +15 inches. I am looking for user opinions of which would deliver the best vapor from the Extreme Q (and please no opinions about vaporizers - I love the Q and just want a great scientific piece to go with it). From the research I've done so far, most people are using bubblers for concentrates, and larger tubes for flowers. I had first thought I wanted a bubbler, but after reading several forums, I am just not sure.

Haven't used a Q before, but there's a great thread in the glass section 'cheap good quality bubblers' or something along those lines, and tons of people offering their own glass.

Personally I like the bubbler size/aesthetics and seems to work well for vapor, but I've also seen people milk monster tubes so I think a lot of it is preference.

You'll also want to figure out how much diffusion you're looking for in a piece. I tend to prefer a little less - single showerhead, or my showerhead down stem to cheap little dome perc mini-tube, but it's preference in the long run.

I'm currently using a breaker-type tube with my Q and wish I had something a bit smaller (but with ample diffusion). Since with vaping we're typically not "loading" a bong or trying to directly cache a bowl I'm thinking less air volume in the glass piece you're using would be best for the typical drag or toke instead of going for multiple lung-busters every time so there's less lead-in time (for the vapor to reach you) and quick clear-times (pulling a gong connect or using a carb to clear). OR MAYBE NOT - this is just my take

I'm drooling over some nice recyclers I'm starting to see that have the dab guys in a frenzy -- I really think a good vape rig and an oil rig have many similarities more so than someone that prefers to set fire to those precious flowers.

I should edit my first post somewhat by saying that I am currently using a Dirty Rico 12 arm Apocoline perc tube with the Extreme Q, and I'm getting great results. The Rico is a 5mm straight tube and it is about 15 inches tall (you can see it at the ALT website, sorry I'm lame - couldn't figure out how to attach pics). I would not want anything taller, as I agree that a larger air volume will make it more difficult to get a fulfilling hit. I have an old 2 foot tall bong with a bubble bottom that I use with an Alex K showerhead downstem, and using it with the Q takes a lot of lung power - have to pre-hit it a couple of times to get the vapor flowing, and after one or two good tokes, have to give my lungs a rest (but the thing is a beast when I combust with it). I am wanting to start a small glass collection to use with vaporizers, as I have discovered this is my favorite way of enjoying the herb. I'm leaning toward a bubbler under 12" with a decent showerhead fixed stem perc, as a good alternative to my Rico.

Sounds like you have a handle on where you want to go (seemingly with me in the same boat). I'm personally gonna peruse the glass forums here and a few places to find people that are happy with their setup. I've only recently returned to the game (MMJ) and am simply astounded on how far the tech has come in the past few years (just supplemented my Omicron with a Persei, this Q rocks, got a Pax, soooo sweet while out and about. I wish I had the problem of so many choices back when!

Yeah, so many choices, and so much to read up on. I'm new to the vape world, but I have to say that I really enjoy the experience compared to combusting. I have been combusting for over 30 years, but think that will be extremely limited now, probably just with friends that don't vape. I have started a scientific glass collection, and easily see spending way too much money, but the possibilities are endless with different setups. And that is the cool thing. One of the portable vapes that has really caught my interest (I'll be buying one) is the Ascent by DaVanci. If you haven't seen this device, check out their website.

The CF bub's long high angle bent neck is great at moving the vape unit away from my face. I got the CF bub to replace a broken Mobius 60T. As perfect as the CF is, I still plan to get another Mobius piece in the future.

I like your upside down setup with the EQ and your CF. I have an adapter to do the same thing, but my adapter is male 18mm on both ends, which is different than your setup. I haven't tried it yet, but I like your setup better, but have to ask where did you get the adapter that you are using on Q to go into your CF. It looks like an adaptation of the cyclone bowl except with a male adapter on the other end. Also, my Dirty Rico is not a bubbler, but a tube (bent mouthpiece off the top, not side). If someone can tell me how to add pictures, I have some good ones I could post. Actually, would like to know how to post pics in general.

Thanks those adapters seem to be referred to as 'carbon filters', apparently because they are designed to be filled with small carbon pieces which filter out burnt ashes and such when pulling through a burnt bowl. In all of the years I burned, never heard of them nor came across them. Folks here use them as direct glass-on-glass cyclone type bowls for their vaporizers. The carbon adapter I was using originally was purchased at a LHS and it was a 14mm male to 18mm female so had to use it with a reducer. Recently I picked up an 18male to 18female carbon filter from OGB so there is one less piece to deal with in my setup, as in no need for the 14 to 18 reducer using this piece:

Yeah, that's the DR tube I have, and in fact, is the site I bought it from (no good LHS within several hundred miles). It's a great tube with the EQ, zero drag, no chug, just a nice smooth hit without compromising flavor, highly recommend.
I have seen the icon to upload an image from a URL, but most sites just ask for your file location on your computer, and all my images are on my computer. Thanks for the info on what you do for images, I may give that a try. Also, what would be the purpose of using a carbon filter with a vaporizer (I, like you, have been using herbs a loooong time, and have never seen/used carbon). Just seems like one more filter the vapor has to go through, thus impeding the overall hit (flavor and potency). The only time I have seen carbon used is for masking the smell of herbs (when travelling).

check out the EHLE 250 and 500. They are very small, cheap, but well made pieces that would work great for vapor bonging

I like imgur because it provides some image editing functions and provides url for each pic so it may then be inserted in our postings. Learned about imgur from postings from a kind user (jambandphan03) in another FC thread.
I've only used those carbon filter glass adapters filled with ground up herb with a vaporizer, never used them back when I smoked flower. I think carbon filters adapters (filled with carbon as pictured above) may be used in place of ash catchers to trap the burnt herb/ash before it makes way into the water pipe -- my understanding is that would be the original intended purpose of carbon filter glass adapters.
