Recommendations on a visit to Denver, CO?

Just got back and like those have said above, what a place! Had a blast exploring the city and just stumbling upon all the dispensaries down Broadway, it was unreal. I ended up picking up a little something from each one and ended up spending much less money than I expected which was nice.

Most of the dispensaries we pretty cool with only a few sticking out as a "negative" experience (seemed like they were more interested in pushing certain items than listening to what I was looking for). Hands down my favorite was Northern Lights on Almedia. I started there as soon as a got into town and they had amazing deals on BoGo cartridges and pretty cheap edibles. It seemed most places were similarly priced items and it came down to the deals they were offering, I didn't mind shopping around the first few days to soak it all in.

After exploring the next day, checking the deals in Westworld and hitting up 5 or 6 other places (Peak was the most friendly and let me smell tons of bud) I ended up back at northern lights to stock up on more carts, some rosin and a few more edibles. They through me a free joint but since I havnt combusted in over 2 years I figured I would pass that down to someone during my trip.

We explored Golden before heading to the mountains with our spoils for a few great days of breakfast and edibles with some truely amazing rosin and wax keeping the day fun. I brought a kiss cast that I could toss rather than bringing my Air or other vape as I was pretty paranoid about the TSA. I came to find how little I needed to worry. I ended up bringing back the rosin in my toiletries bag and was so worried the entire way through security I didn't remember that I still had that pre-roll in my bag but it went right through with no worries. Also, I ended up misplacing one of the carts I bought on the first day only to find it in my suitcase unpacking this morning. Crazy...

What a cool place Denver is. Everyone I talked to said that the population is getting a little to much and the traffic was getting horrible with all the people moving there but I can understand why. The weather was fantastic and there is beautiful nature everywhere. So many people walking or riding their bikes and just a cool chill vibe all around.

I am coming back for another visit:D

This trip will be coming in and out of Denver fast, and spending most my time in Boulder.

I have some extract artists I was hoping to try and keep an eye out for, going to have to start searching the maps to see if any are near my locations.

Here is my short list so far, please post up if I might have missed any gems:

  • Harmony Extracts- I really liked their strains of live during my last visit.
  • Botanico- Absolute GAS! I LOVE THIS STUFF! Try their Lucky Charms for flavors out of this world.
  • BOSM Labs- no experience
  • Yeti Farms wax - no experience
  • Olio Labs sause- no experience
  • A Cut Above/Absolute Terps- no experience
  • Evolabs- my favorite carts
  • Craft/Panacea
I don't expect to find them all, but I am keeping a short list so I know which great extracts to pursue.

@FlyingLow not sure what I think about Craft, that PHO is lacking in terps. May be best to keep that at the bottom of the list. Check out Dabble extracts if you can, their budder is pretty damn tasty! Also the eureka tanks are pretty good too to compare to evolabs. I thought the tanks did better than the chroma carts.

So glad to hear some first hand advice, will definitely pass on the Craft... I just want FIRE:D
Looks like Eureka has quite a large selection, I'll keep an eye out for them!

I love hearing other's experiences, THANK YOU!

Recent trip to CO visited GoodChem at 300 Colfax. Recommended by my b.i.l. who was a budtender for Sweetleaf. GC has a great selection, great prices and the budtenders are quite knowledgeable. The limits for out of town buyers have been lifted, so feel free to spend as much as you like. Really nice menu listings, easy to read. Prices were very easy on the wallet. Herb was a bit dry, but us vapeheads prefer it that way.

  • Harmony Extracts- need to see more from them...currently on the fence
  • Botanico- absolute SHITE!!!!!! for wooks and rooks.
  • BOSM Labs- just passed over them recently in a shop...better options imo
  • Yeti Farms wax - meh
  • Olio Labs sause- Prob 2nd or 3rd fav...Always in my rotation
  • A Cut Above/Absolute Terps- ??
  • Evolabs--if ur into carts, one of the better, but not my thing
  • Craft/Panacea--have had some really be good, and lots and lots of meh
  • Mahatma--enjoy shitty, dirty product? These guys are for you then
*Incredibles(Black label)--same folks that make edibles. giving up a tiny bit of flavor for a really clean product. Def on my short list.

*Cannabis Maximus HTFSE--tasty as fuck...i don't believe their percentages for overall terps listed on their packaging, but that doesnt mean I don't enjoy the hell out of it.

*Viola liveresin/sauce---have had some really tasty from them, but they also do runs for local dispensaries with the disp own flowers that hasn't been too great. If the flowers used to make the extracts are grown by Viola, then get it, if not, maybe pass on it.

*Green Dot Labs---Grand Champion. I dare you to find better product on a week-in, week-out basis. There is NOBODY who does it better. From superior genetics(found in their Black Label concentrates), to superior processing. Buy black label first, Silver label has been on point lately also. Green Dot white label, while still better than most companies shatter, pales in comparison to Black and Silver label.

Limits have been RAISED but certainly NOT lifted.

Sputnik was pretty cool. Still there?

Funny story:rofl:

AirBnB douche filed a payment request. Puked in his toilet. Cleaned, replaced his shower curtain from the local shop. And - left him about 5 g high-end flower. :cuss: So much for 420-friendly.

Spoke only briefly while he hacked a muscle from an unfortunate animal (one hopes). :peace:

@Silver420Surfer thanks!! Did they just open a rec side recently? I heard they had some heat but never had the chance to go by there. Any particular greendot or cut above strains that i should lookout for?
I shop MED so I don't know when they added REC.

Strains...that's tough imo. I know what flavors I like, but not what others may prefer. Nothing worse than giving someone the "YOU gotta try this.", only to get a "Meh" response. I can tell you Green Dot grows primarily Bodhi Seeds genetics(which imo is one of the greatest seed breeders in the world), and I don't think I met a bad Black Label offering since they 1st started up back in 2014. Some batches I like more than others, but they are always done proper and very good representations of the various strains they grow.
Granola Funk(formerly Disco Biscuit), anything with Wookie or Appalachia in it, Grease Monkey, and Strawberry-anyhthing has ALWAYS been outstanding from Green Dot.

I've never bought flower from A Cut Above...??? can't say for sure. MED side was pretty nice last time in there, just looked no buy though. Picky about flower and have my go-to for that already, so nothing about lack of quality from A Cut Above.

So what do you not like about botanico?

I am working on some Bio-D right now and it is gassy as fuck! I am loving it...

@FlyingLow ,

jealous in MN. If you are getting any bud, what I had from Fresh Baked in Boulder was all very nice.
They carry concs too, but no experience with them. Several Botanico plus??

If you like casinos (I'm not a fan) and get over to Central City, Green Grass has some outstanding product--again I only had their flowers.
Have a great trip

1.)The improperly purged taste from their product
2.)Some of the Live Resin appears more like sugared shatter than real Live Resin
3.)Strain profiles haven't been what my palette has come to expect
4.)So many better companies making vastly superior product

I will update with full lists from each when not on my phone...

Fresh was great, they do own botanico, so pass of that is not what you seek. I dig it.

I ended up going back to helping hands again after having enjoyed a nice experience there on my first trip. Hooked me up with some local discounts and have a nice cash back program.

Standout live extracts of the day were from binske. This was a new group to me, any of you have experience?

Hoping to go to at least 1 or 2 more shops tomorrow. Anyone have suggestion?

I am finding that after filtering down to indic and live, selections have not been as broad as my last visit. One or two choices. Not as much variety as my denver stops.

Some days my caregiver has 8 flower choices, other times 40. Live resin doesnt last long. Some places bring out new stuff weekly. Just gotta find those shops.

Is the caregiver system here as developed as cali?

I have fun seeing all the shops, but using a caregiver would certainly free up a lot of my time and energy.

A caregiver is for Colorado MED patients.

How could walking into a shop, showing id, buying legal cannabis be any easier than it already is in Colorado?:hmm:(unless you're trying to game the system)

I absolutely enjoy the dispensary process and ease, but there are REALLY great reasons for developing a strong caregiver network. In on a handheld and can't really elaborate, but a good caregiver will learn exactly what their patients need and keep patients stocked up with variety.

Most often in these networks, the supply is grown directly at the care persons, or direct from other craft growers and it allows for patients to get products that may never ever see a retail shelf at a dispensary. Craft strains and growers still have much appeal to me.

Even if you ship at the same stores all the time, you still have to walk every new tender through your preferences, dislikes, etc. It is just repeditive, and having the same conversation 3 times a day [or 3 times a week grows really fixing dull to me and i tire of the talk.

...just a few reasons why i care for having a developed caregiver network, and there are many more reasons for having a good system.

I cannot think of one good reason to counter, it benefits all who participate. I don't get what you mean by game the system. Like trying to get out of taxes?

It was close by so ... i took my whole family into helping hands today. So much fun! Dad, sister, uncles, 6 more cousins. WOW. So much fun! I picked up some edibles and a few other odd and ends. The staff handled the rush well and we got great service.

Vapor Slide had a cool pop up demo going on and showcasing their product. It was solid, better quality than i expected, awesome functionality if you are a pen person and want to drop into your favorite glass piece. I talked with their rep and they even got a v2 in the works.

I got a busy day tomorrow, but hoping to get by Boulder wellness center.

On the list if time permits is Boulder botanico, Green tree, and Honey cellar

from my prior post:
"A caregiver is for Colorado MED patients." CO has a great caregiver network. The diff is that California is more unregulated.

Colorado allows for, and actively has tons of caregivers in the state. When you fill out your Colorado medical patient paperwork just check the box for "Caregiver" vs. signing over your allotted plant count to a dispensary. I believe a caregiver can either grow for you, or legally purchase your meds at a dispensary for you.
However, if you are not a resident of Colorado you are only legally entitled to shop at any dispensary that has been approved for Recreational sales. There are quality caregivers and quality dispensaries abound. Like any other industry though there are lots of shitty ones too. Personal preference from where I'm sitting. Can't see a right or wrong choice, it all comes down to the individual and their wants/needs. If you were a resident and a MED patient, you could designate a caregiver to purchase meds for you and stock up on what you like for when you came back to Colorado. Like say you really dig Kind Love and their flower. Whenever they had say, Cataract Kush available, your legally designated caregiver could go purchase your OZ limit in flower, on your behalf. Then next week they have your fav concentrates drop, said caregiver could purchase what you want on your behalf. BUT, you have to be a MED patient, i.e., resident of Colorado.

If you lived in Colorado, you would be able to "fine tune" your shopping by which dispensary was dropping your fav flower/concentrate/whatever, and when. You'd have a better feel for who grows what you like, who grows shit, etc. If a dispo has top shelf flower, or gets the fire live resin drop from your fav concentrate maker...if you're not there in a few hours, you're outta luck. Sometimes an hour and that dank everyone wants, is out of stock. It's impossible to become an expert in Denver/Boulder/CO Springs, without having quite a bit of time(and $$$$), and a MED card. There's just too many shops out there, like 4-500 now, prob more.

Why do I have to walk my budtender thru my preferences, dislikes, etc? Do you think that most of them care? Few and far between. I dictate my transaction, not them. Maybe every once in a while I'll ask him/her what they're taking home that night.
But, I walk into a dispo already knowing 99% of what I'm buying. Whether thru Weedmaps or dispensary online menus(2 of my dispos offer "order online and pickup in store"), Instagram posts, email/text blasts from local dispensaries, knowing when my fav concentrate companies do their drops, etc. MAAAAYBE I see some flower or a new edible I'd like to try, but my order is done...zip...finito...before I even get there. Of course I may double/quadruple/ an item of particular favor. Like if they have any concentrate made with "Good Medicine"(a high CBD strain created by Bodhi Seeds), I'm gonna grab a few extra because it really helps with pain on my bad days. When "Green Dream" in Boulder(actually Gun Barrel, Colorado, but its right next to Boulder)has a fresh batch of "Bubba Kush"...I'm there. Thursdays are Green Dot Labs Black Label concentrates drops. Boom! I'm calling all my stores to see what time they are getting their drops so I can plan my pickups. Some know me well enough and will "hold" items for me for a few hours up to 48hrs. And then sometimes you just can't make it and miss out.

I still think Colorado has done the best job of all the states so far. Sorry for the long diatribe. I love Colorado and could talk shop all day long.
