I am stuck with having to look at Purple Days "porn" until i can find a safe place to ship it to.

Welcome to FC Bushido. You should be OK with this vape, getting it shipped to your parents' house (unless they open your packages and do an inspection). It comes labeled as a diffuser, and that's exactly what it is, as well as a vape. With no vapor tubes in evidence, you can use the copper cap and with a variety of essential oils or incense. It's a small, simple looking device and no one is likely to question its function as a diffuser unless they see one of the tubes.

B. , the PDP (Purple-Days Pandora) Kit is the same as the PD in all ways but two. The laser etched logo is different and the bottom is Elk hide (rather than cow hide). Please, consider your mechanical ability before ordering.

Just got more American Cherry slabs and one of them is going to yield a lot of nice scrap. Just under 3 rips (2 good, one too narrow too use), so lots of spare KD cherry in the shop. And I have a moderate supply of (unfigured) Black Walnut and some Maple I might play around with.

I made the first Cherry Stash for Pammy and she has been using it since. She thinks others will enjoy them too. And with wood laying around, why not?

Thanks to those who gave us input on the 2010 biz cards. Our old card was from 123 Print who has rights to use that picture (the mad scientist). Lots of backgrounds to choose from, good service. But in the end, I never like using another person's art, even with permission. So, I choose a shot that I took. This is the new card (including the white frame). Hope you enjoy.

The 420 contest: Seems folks think about entering, but don't, so the odds are fantastic. Plenty of room to post a better guess and become King of the Heap. The figured Maple unit is finished and on the testing shelf, very nice. This shot is before final sanding and finish.

Tom already sent me like 25 SS tips and I have already start to make some stems so as soon as I can put them together I will let you all know . Also some off my friends have try them and all of them have been really positive about it !

A PD arrived in my mailbox today

It arrived 5 hours ago, and I planned on writing a review here when I was firing it up.
Guess why it took 5 hours

This thing is just unreal. Light years ahead of the effort it takes to use my genie, which I can finally use to relax when I have some time on my hands as I intended to with it, not as an all-the-time pipe.

From reading everything I have here on FC I go tthe technique down pat in about 3 tubes, (with the first two being because the power strip I moved the PD to being off ). The cigar-puffing method is great for a bit easier, puffier rip, while the standard slow-pull method works fine for a deep easy toke; I like to use both.

In the past I've voiced criticisms of this units unmatched reputation in terms of the herb/clouds ratio; Though this unit may not fit grail-like proportions, it is just fucking amazing at what it does. Seriously, this is a solid, rip-tastic device. When I get more pictures and thoughts together I'll post an in-depth about some of my feel/taste/smell/effect quality/onset, and some more general characteristics I've noticed and appreciated/disliked.

One question for Tom: When I looked down into the tube of the heat exchanger, I saw what I'm pretty sure is the ceramic resistor. Is that correct? Just curious, as I wasn't sure where exactly in the airpath the resistor was.
Really great device Tom, loving the craftsmanship and the dynamic practicality that this vape seems to embody to me. Thanks for a great Purple Days unit!

I have a question for Clear Dome.... regarding your glass stems. How hot does the glass part holding the SS tip get? reason I am asking is I like to hold a finger against the stems when using, so it doesn't rattle around. Does the glass warm up more than the current plastic?

Got my PD today and had a few questions. Are the straws supposed to be loose when put into the purple days? I only can compare it to the zap which isn't nearly as loose as the PD. Love the piece and can't wait to use it in about 45 mins.

My ONE gripe is very minor, that 1 stem=1 person. Maybe I am wrong, but I can't imagine sharing a stem with someone and being fully affected. Maybe a higher capacity PD in the future, I can only dream.

Well, you do get 3 with every PD. Unless you like to share spit, I think it's the perfect setup for up to 3 people. As for "fully affected", some would argue that one full tube isn't enough. Depends on the person, the particular herb being vaped, and your definition of "fully affected". I think I've been fully affected a time or two from just one hit. At other times a 2nd tube seems necessary.

I think it takes a while to adjust.. I know it took my tolerance a while to settle down. I started out doing about 3 stems a session, but after a while of exclusive use, I started splitting stems with my girl and it does us both fine. Its really amazing how much you can get out of so little with these.

what i found for sharing, is to hand everyone their own tube, and pass the pd around like a lighter. every person takes a hit off of their tube. if you smoke alot with certain friends, teach them to pack their own stems, it makes things easier for you being the vape tender. ive also had very good luck with sharing tubes with people. works well when you dont have that much left. you will be suprized how much vapor it takes to get there once you adjust to t he tollerance.

unless your someone like me with a wicked high tolerance, 3 stems = 1 person

Were you expecting a single stem to get multiple people high? As others have pointed out, a lot (probably the majority of us) have multiple stems per session.

As for vaping with more then 3 people and 1 PD, that doesn't sound like much fun

A doubt that a higher capacity PD will ever happen because it would destroy that one thing that the PD REALLY excels at, and that is it's ability to help you conserve your bud.

And as other have said above, rather than sharing one stem, it's best to pack multiple stems and give each person their own. But with that said, the best vape for party use would be a bag-type vape, such as a Volcano, or a combo whip/bag vape like an Extreme, an HerbalAire or a Zephyr. The PD is at it's best when used either as a personal vape or with one other person for use with small, measured doses. That's why research into the various vapes on the market is so important and your decision should be based on how you plan on using it.

The PD's a great vape, but it's not the best in all situations. No vape is.

Yeah for more than two people I would prefer to have more than one PD running. I do not find using my PD in group settings to be a desirable experience.
I would say my usage is similar to IAmKrazy2's I start the day off with multiple stems, and as the day progresses I use less and less stems with each vaping session.

Same here... I can do up to 5 or 6 stems in my initial sessions if I want to get REALLY baked... but from then on it's only 1 every few hours to maintain the high.

Yup. One to one and a half stems used to do me in, but with this latest bud that I just got, I can't even finish one stem. One and a half hits thru a bong and I'm in lala land for a few hours.
