Yeah I'm with you it's going cold tonight with wind chill -15F or something. Oh and when I watch Youtube I see a bunch of kids looks nothing wrong with them getting MM for B/S got a crazy pipe that cost ton of cash doing dab after dab in Moms basement. I like to see moderation I bet one dab would last me half the day. Me I can't even open my windows when it's nice out I'm a criminal.

I'd have a lot of trouble leaving Southern California because of the year-round warmth.

Any recommendations related to rents? Ideal 4 me would b to b able to have a work shop/ garage.

I've actually never moved, so all I can offer is that the more temperate locations near the ocean are typically a lot lot pricier than inland, which gets hot hot hot.

That pretty much sums it up I think. I'm looking ATM from a VA medical facility perspective. Not in a monster rush.
Have TRUCKLOADS of heavy shop equipment to sell, etc. 40 yrs of bullshit...

Got out the army in Oakland , '68, literally saw a war going on in Berkeley from the plane, and the airport...thought shit, right back where I came from. Wasn't near ready for civilian life so went over...stayed 10 years, rt off telegraph ave/people's park. moved to Santa Cruz for a few. Wonder what it would have been like to have stayed.

I remember the climate suiting me clothes.

no colorado fans ? i was going to post this a while ago, but held off. it's been a while since then & i stumbled across the thread and i'm only more inclined to do so now, so here goes.

My primary reason for chiming in is your mention of limited income. Cali certainly isn't the first place that pops into my head upon hearing those two words. I'm not gonna preach "move to Pueblo" but it is some damn cheap livin' here. Granted, Pueblo's pretty dinky, but not necessarily the only option. I currently live in a pretty nice 2-bedroom apartment, a "quadplex" of sorts really. Rent's $435.

Also, how do you define "warm" ? What's the motive for moving to a warmer climate would be another way of putting it, i guess. I'm not sure what the weather is like further south of me, but what i can say is - it's snowed less than an inch here, perhaps a half dozen times so far this winter. None of it's been on the ground for more than a couple days. Despite the elevation, the lack of humidity and consistent sunny days means i break a sweat walking to the grocery store in a hoodie in 40 degree weather. On the flipside, a gentle breeze and finding some shade is enough to keep plenty comfy outdoors in the summer. My parents thought i was nuts moving here because of their perception of what the weather must be like here. Ya know, mountains = 12" of snow and black ice every day for months on end. Of course ! /sarcasm

I just figured i'd toss it out there. I figure southern CO, even if not the "banana belt" might be a good, cheap alternative to Cali, depending on your needs.

I moved here 11 months ago for MMJ, better climate, smaller city, cheaper living, and just to start over. I haven't been let down one bit. Replacing the shitstorm that comes with big cities with a 180 degree panorama of the rockies (uninhibited view from my back patio!) has been nothing short of bliss. I guess warm cause old folks (70 yrs old) like warm. But old folks also need mmj. And in my case, a nearby VA medical facility. And sunshine. All seem in place in yr part of the world.

Check out Arizona. Great place to live and the cost of living is reasonable.
