If they can lower the price about $100 and it gets a solid review from people here, I could see myself getting this as my next vape.

He has no review, just a vendetta. Can't review a product you've never seen. He's goes from praising the product to slamming the company in just a few days time, all because he now has no chance of selling it. As for worrying about VapeXhale as a company, or the Cloud as a product, just wait and see. I wouldn't be betting against 'em.

As for the miVape, deal with the manufacturer or a reputable dealer. If you have a question about who is reputable, you can get a good answer here at FC.

    Hey y'all
I decided what the hell, might as well write to Vaporfection about this thing. They responded very quickly. The full email they sent me is below, but as it's also full of vivape references (though I didn't ask anything about the vivape, I am not interested in it) this is it in a nutshell: the mivape IS battery-operated, has a size and shape they compare to a '1.25" iPhone", is supposed to last 3 or 4 hours on a charge. And the one big difference fromt he Solo - it can be used while charging (I assume with the charger it comes with). They also claim (on their site) that it has an all glass air path. Not sure if I'm going to order one - depends on when the Cloud is ready ;). Seriously, I like the sound of it, but I'd need to see a review or two before deciding. $300 is a bit steep for a portable without reviews. My big worry is breakage - the glass mouthpiece is built in, could see it being a real pain to replace if it breaks. IMO, that is the advantage of the Solo's separate glass stem - I already broke one, just need to buy another. On the other hand, Vaporfection are an established vape company, been around a while. I haven't owned one of theirs before (I always thought they were overpriced compared to the competition) but many people say they make great gear.

Here's the full email they sent me. Note - I did not ask about the vivape, but they are obviously pushing it. I only asked about the mivape.

Thank you for your comments and your interest in our Vaporfection miVape and viVape vaporizers. The viVape is an extension of a product developed over many years to a level of Purity and silent performance never before seen in the vaporizer or herbal world! The miVape, after 12 months of design development, is actually in our final stage engineering and testing, we expect to complete these activities with-in the month and then release the miVape for production. The miVape will be the 1st truly pocket portable vaporizer, made with medical grade materials thoughout, it will be rechargeable battery powered good for approximately 3-4 hours and can be used while charging or with optional car lighter cord, it has an adjustable temperature dial under the flip cover it has a range of +/- 300 to 400 F which is reached in approximately 2 minutes, it's outer perimeter dimensions are about the size of a 1.25" thick iPhone. We expect to begin deliveries in early December. The viVape will be shipping in mid October, it's an amazing world changing unit. To avoid scam sites and secure your priority delivery slot now, you need to go to vaporfection.com and place your order. Thanks for reaching out! The Best! Herb

Pretty much the same email they were sending out a month ago, except the temp range they cite is a little different - 300 to 400 in the recent email, 320 to 375 in the older one. Also a little strange that his email said the mivape isn't coming until December when their website said November.

I just hope they avoid some of the issues Arizer had with the Solo, like some units producing an odor from uncured paint or ceramics, chipping in the heating chamber, etc.

Wrote an email to Vaporfection about the miVape and got a little bit of new info out of them, confirming that indeed the glass stem will be replaceable (uncanny that they would include this considering I saw the concern raised just recently here on FC). Nice quick response, and liking their new designs so will be watching this one close

Actually it's the vivape, the non-portable one, that has a pump. The mivape does not, as far as they are saying.

Done some more digging - they are offering an excellent two-year, 24-hour guaranteed replacement warranty on the mivape. BUT - it costs $89 extra, while the Arizer Solo comes with a 2-year warranty for FREE. I was going to pre-order the mivape before I saw this. I could see charging extra for guaranteed 24-hour replacement, but the 2 year warranty should be included in the purchase price, IMO, especially if they want to compete with the Solo (not to mention MFLB, not a fave of mine but a well respected vape whose company gives awesome service).

Would still like to get my hands on one, but nearly $400 with warranty?

At 1.25" thick it's not much smaller than the Solo. I would like to see how well this thing hits compare to my Solo.

Oh man I'm stoked to flavor some vapor out of the viVape and see just how pure all glass can taste. It'll be awesome to have another portable vape on the market, especially a battery powered one. It's crazy how quickly the technology behind vaporizing is advancing and it's only picking up speed as more States get hip to herbal medicine as an actual source of relief. There just isn't anything quite as exciting as the first run on a brand new vaporizer, can't wait!

ill wait for some other members on here to spend 400 bucks. Like, there is no way the mivape can be only a glass air path. Just them saying that makes me weary of the vivape. Remember when Arizer said the solo was all glass

If the vivape is a fully glass airpath I will be extremely surprised but it might prove to influence this forum for a minute.

I asked about the warranty thing. It does come with a 2 year warranty, the additional fee is for an extra 2 years, plus it gurantees replacement within 24 hours for that whole 4 year period. From the Herb Postma dude:

Answering your warranty question both Vaporfection units come with a 2 year warranty, additionally they both have an extended 2 year warranty available, the main feature is that for the entire 4 year period we will replace your warrantied defective unit with 24 hour delivery, from our receipt of the defective warrantied unit.

However, I was a bit troubled by some of what it says on the warranty detail they have on their website. It says that the warranty only covers if "the damage or malfunction is not the result of ordinary wear and tear and that the unit has not been tampered with, damaged, dropped, subjected to uses other than those for which it is intended, or opened by an unauthorized person." (emphasis added)

So if the warranty covers neither normal wear and tear or breakage, what exactly is being covered? If it is just a bad unit, it'll be returned long before two years. So it makes me wonder if either warranty, the default or the "24 hour replacement" one, would cover any actual problems a unit could have.

On the 'all-glass' claim, I've noticed that they don't seem to be saying that specifically in reference to the mivape. They reference a 'glass airway', but it doesn't say all glass air path specifically for the mivape. They do make the claim for the vivape, the table-top model.

I also asked Herb Postma about whether the mivape is an all glass air path or not. This is what he said:

The miVape is still in final pre production testing so I can't make a final commitment other than everything involved with the airway will be medical grade materials, no ceramics. Thanks! Herb

It's rare when a warranty covers more than maufacturer defects. Don't read the terms as if they're trying to wiggle out of any and all warranty claims. This company has been around for years and has not had 'issues' with warranty service on their previous products.

Not necessarily. Electronic components can fail at any time.

This vape interests me, as I'm always interested in a stealthy portable. Like everyone else though, I'd be more interested if it sold for less.

I've decided to make the leap of faith and ordered a white one. I will keep everyone posted once it arrives.
Also the vape20 discount code works for this, saving 20% making the asking price very reasonable. Thinking of adding the extended warranty but unsure atm.

Have been thinking about doing the same, having experienced with the Solo how flexible a portable vape is I am sold. Wondering if its best to hold off until some amazon/ebay price reductions!

Okay, I realize this post will sound pretty naive, but I've been trying to get more information on the mivape and vivape, and I keep encountering "reviews" that look ridiculously phony. Containing no information that isn't available on the main websites, they are apparently shills--and poorly written ones at that. (There are also a number of websites selling these units, even though Vaporfection has identified only two on-line vendors as authorized.) What gives? The "reviews" aren't even trying to sell anything, though they appear to be ads. I get that the net is filled with scams, but who benefits from this nonsense? I can't even see that Vaporfection does, since it makes me skeptical about the whole thing. (I am hoping that Vaporfection isn't promoting phony reviews.) Is all this par for the new-vape course? If so, all the more reason to buy only from authorized dealers with good reputations here, dealers who can't afford to pull any bs on the fc community.

The fake review website thing is a real problem when trying to research vaporizers online. For some reason almost any google search relating to vape models will lead you before long to a fake site with fake reviews trying to sell one or two products specifically. It's pretty sad and easy to see through, but someone naive or just trying to get a vape in the mail could be deceived.

Maybe it's the crazy assholes over at the Vaporizerforweed.net nutbar-syndicate, the same clowns who were trying to sell Clouds they don't possess. It's sad that honest engineers and ideamen have to deal with the bullshit from leeches like these - people who buy up a bunch of similar-sounding domains and put up fake sites meant to deceive you into thinking they're official.

Yeah, the shitty fake cloud site: http://cloudvaporizer.com/ links right to a shitty fake Mivape review site: http://mivapereview.wordpress.com/

So you can blame those scumbags for muddying the vaporizer market and misinforming consumers, they're at least partially responsible for the mindless drek fake review sites.

Getting back on topic, though, I really am very curious how the Mivape will perform. If it can get under 200 dollars I'll probably get one down the line if the reviews are positive.

The source of these sites is vaporizerforweed.net. They sold from this site earlier this year, but stopped when PayPal cut off their only source of payment. They made the other sites to sell from. I don't know if they'll actually be able to sell the Vaporfection models or not. They certainly set up shop to sell the Cloud (even taking orders) when they actually had no chance at all to obtain any to sell.
