From a business point of view it makes sense. Not always a good idea to be associated with the 'scene'.

Oh No! Mr macbill!!

I've seen at least one discussion group about using the Iinhale as a nicotine delivery system. So maybe like eLiguL says, a more innocuous name might create a larger market.

iinhale was clever but I like iolite better

the double "ii" was weird

iolite is definitely a trendier sounding name

could the name change be for reasons other then sales or image?
like the sale of the buisness
or a name flip for money reasons....:uhoh:

It wouldn't surprise me if Apple is the reason for the change. It's gonna cost 'em some big bucks to change the name on everything-the unit, manual, box. Just doesn't make sense that they decided all of a sudden, after just 6 months on the market, to change the name because they decided they like another one better. And I can't get an answer from the company rep about the name change. He's usually good about responding.

Since the name change was already reported in one of the two existing I-inhale threads, this one's going to get closed.
