Looks like it fires pretty well for a ~$10 piece. Do you have to fill the stem that high to get the level right in the chamber? I'm thinking a little less might stop any backsplash.

Yeah, its just the wrong setup. I've had some wacky things happen hooking up different ac/percs to different pieces. The best one and for some reason... I can't always recreate it, is the SSFG Mini Inline, on the Glassblowers Bubbler. It holds the water INSIDE the inline. First @#$%ing reversal inline, I've seen.

Works well to. However, for whatever reason; water levels, atmospheric pressure... I don't know. I can only get it to work 1/2 the time.

They're selling an 18.8mm version now as well and it has free shipping. :D

I went ahead and ordered one...for $14 its kind of a no brainer.

Did you make an offer or did the price go up (currently listed at 70)?

EDIT: nvm, didn't realize there were multiple sellers.

That's cheap as hell! Supposedly boro too. If that ash catcher had a SYN or toro decal it'd be selling for 200 bucks.

    VIDEOOOOOOOS.

Looks cool for sweatshop glass. For $18 bucks I'm honestly a little tempted.

So how does it function, in your opinion?

As cheap as it is, I'm pretty tempted to pick it up to build up the 18" tube I use for combustion. What's the diameter of the can?

Looks like Alibaba won't provide escrow services to WA state. After doing a little research, I'm SOL.

Anyone see this in the $18 link?
"If any requirement, please feel free to contact us to buy the product in any design and quantity. "

Maybe one could get them to lower the disc/hole perc so it wouldn't need quite as much water.

That would be great, I'd even order another if they changed the design for the better.

Well, I couldn't resist. Mine showed up today and besides from some mediocre welds, it looks nice. The honeycomb should of course be lower to the floor but it still fires nicely enough. Definitely a steal at the price they were asking. On that note..

It looks like the seller has pulled out of Alibaba as their store is empty now. Also, it looks like they'd been selling the Extreme Q knockoffs and some of their negative feedback comes from those units failing.

ok, question for those who have purchased....i just ordered an 18, and it got here today. there is some brownish stuff in some of the holes (can't tell if it's inside or outside the holes), and soap/water and iso/salt have not been able to knock them out. anyone else with this issue?

Did you try Simple Green or PBW? There is a thread about PBW in this sub-Forum.

If you wouldn't mind stating, how long after you ordered did it take to get your ashcatcher and are you in the US? We've been waiting for an 18 and wondered what we're in for. :)

probably about 2 weeks. once hit hits the states, it will take a couple days for the sorting facility to get it out to you. the epacket tracking site helps.

i have not tried those yet. I can't see the brown from above or below, only from the side, so it appears to be on the walls of the holes?

We hope that your problem gets resolved. Let us know how it goes.

Ours just arrived today after appearing to be stuck overseas for 10 days. It is a beautiful thing without any dirt or other apparent marks. Of course one has to overlook the poor weld of the front arm to the ashcatcher body. We have to be realistic; this thing cost $24 (we latecomers have to pay more) and is quite the bargain, even at that "inflated" price. :D
