I also had a question for the thread - That little metal shimmy thing for the heater cover to fit on the base of the heater is stuck in my heater cover. I can't remember if it was always like that or not. I was planning on buying a new heater cover and I was wondering if all the heater covers have that metal piece when you order them because there is no way I can get that little piece out of my current hc.

Thanks, Blake.

I got one when I got my SSV type HC. I'm sure they'll throw one in if you ask, if it's not already included.

You can get it out if you really want to, just use a button hook or bend the tip of a steel poker/pick to make a hook.

Pretty good tips you left, might save somebody a search. But folks need to use the search!

Learn it, love it!

Search first, ask questions later!

Cheers!

I just bought a custom glass set and they included 3 shims and 3 of the rounded metal clips. The custom heater cover is wider then stock, so I had to use one of the shims included to make a tight fit.

the buddah has been a good vape for me and works well with power inverters my other box type vape wouldnt work unless i used the converter directly hooked up to the car battery, i get better hits from the box vape because the ceramic heater is larger and has more heat air contact with the buddah its a fine line between smooth vapor or getting a smokey hit, this is why they want you to fully heat up the glass then turn it down i use mine at less then half power .pointed towards buddahs foot. if i get it just a bit to high it burns the herbs quick

after every piece of glass that game with my buddha broke, and my new pieces had bubbles in the welds and stuff i demanded answers and
7th floor told me their best blower left them and they are left with pure shit for glass, just add that ontop of the already bad china class the buddha comes with

= me not happy at all

f**k, sorry mate, this is lousy news. i ordered some custom glass pieces recently, so i am praying n hoping. if this is true, then it would affect the ssv users as well but this is the first i have heard of this.

I guess the lesson here is: Be careful with that shit! Sorry cloud954, I had to say it, but I sympathize. I was lost when I broke my mini whip. Here's hoping they find a new glass blower or some independent guy gets smart and makes aftermarket replacements!

hint hint...

All the Da Buddha Heater Covers we sell come with the metal "spacer" I think your referring to. It helps secure the Heater Cover into place.

My original glass is as good as the day I got it, and just received a custom glass set last week, absolutely PERFECT craftsmanship, so I don't know what you are speaking of. And I am quite sure 7th floor did not tell a customer that the glass they have is pure shit. Thats pretty laughable. Your reply comes off sounding like a troll as much as mine sounds like I am an endorser of 7th floor products. But yea, quite sure 7th floor did not tell you that.

Hi, I've had my DBV for 2 years now and my original wand just broke. In looking at replacement wands, I see there are 2 styles now - the original (which I had) and the new style. I wonder if anyone can enlighten me on the operational differences and their personal preference. Thanks all. P.S. - colored whip tubing, too? It's getting to be like shopping now. ;)

I dunno- they're not always the most professional in their communications with customers.
http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?pid=81198#p81198 (that post, plus the OP in that thread) It wouldn't surprise me tbh. (although maybe not the words 'pure shit' )

just add that ontop of the already bad china class the buddha comes with
Exactly what is "already bad china class"? If you're talking about glass (not class), you get the same quality wands and heater covers with the DBV that you do with the SSV. If 7th Floor has a current lack of talent in the glass blowing dept., it affects SSV buyers as well. If you're referring to the DBV being assembled in China as getting something of less quality than the SSV, you don't know what you're talking about. If you've got the erroneous 'anything made in China=crap' attitude, please take that somewhere else.

wow you people are soft.... i wasnt quoting them for frig sakes.. im just telling you how shit their glass is...

/my custom glass cover has lines from where it was welded with the ground glass joint. It is also too big to fit nicley into my buddha without force unlike my original cover. not to mention bubbles in the welds

My glass wand broke because i put it in the heater cover and turned it a twist(like advertised) and it cracked the length of the ground glass...

7th floor wont help me, and vaporizers.ca which i bought it from has said all they can do is sell me a new one

they are just crooks looking for money.

anyway, i emailed 7th floor about my custom pieces and also about the issue above, got reply next day (edited) "....(at one time ) we had them mass produced and shipped to us in bulk. We had one shipment come in recently that was of poor quality. After that batch of bad glass, we stopped having any glass made overseas. All glass for Da Buddha, SSV, and LSV is now blown by our own glass blowers. Everything else should be of good quality, and last for a long time as long as the user is not rough with it.

Customers should really keep in mind that glass is extremely fragile no matter how it is blown. The pieces on these units cannot be made any thicker than they are, so they are all somewhat thin, and therefore they are more fragile than most people think. As long as you are gentle with the glass and don't force anything, you should have no problems. We do have a 30 day warranty on all glass bought directly through us, as long as they were not broken or cracked at the fault of the user."

maybe they should have thrown out everything from that batch and i'm not trying to make excuses for them but (their filtering process could have missed some inferior quality ones) i think in no way does that generalise the quality of a dbv unit, or rather the glass (mine is perfect btw).

p/s- mod, take it easy on cloud. quite frustrating but sometimes just one of those things. it's like buying a dependable japanese car and then finding later that irritating problems are cropping up.

You can think what you like, but when you spread bad info on the forum, I'm gonna call you on it. And when you break the rules, especially the section about treating others with respect, you're gonna get an infraction. Those who flame on this forum either change their attitude in a hurry, or they're not here long. The choice is yours.

I'd also suggest reviewing the rules page, since you broke another rule in your last post - "they are just crooks" - Don't attack products or companies. You can post your opinion, and you can criticize, but posts written to offend are not allowed. Poor customer service doesn't equate to being a crook.

No, i cannot think that i (consciously) did; as far as i know, i only edited the part of my own comments unless it was accidentally done in my 'highness' because i don't recall it. so mod, unless you are absolutely sure that i did what you accused me of, please retract your infraction UNLESS the infraction in some way helps me get a higher stone with my dbv :brow:

anyway, got another (this time unsolicited) email from 7th floor from a lady named Elyssa "...That shipment was actually pretty recent, so he may have gotten his unit just before we noticed the problem. This company has grown extremely fast in the 8 years that it has been open. It started on the owner's pool table, and has gradually had to move into bigger and bigger areas every couple of years to keep up with customer's demand. That glass situation was our only choice at one point to be able to make all of the glass needed with the small staff that we have. As for being slackers, I am the only person here to answer phones and emails, so I apologize if I ever have a delayed response. We really do all that we can for our customers without putting us in a hole. All of us here have multiple jobs in the company, and as a result, things like that forum are sometimes neglected. But as I said, all glass for all units is made by our own glass blowers. Granted, the ones we have left are sort of in a catch up mode after the most skilled of them left us. But I can assure you that they are only getting closer every day to perfecting the technique, and the quality of the glass will only get better. "

p/s - mod, also part of your comments to cloud on the rules "All members should respect and adhere to the promotion of harmony within the community....Be nice to newbies". saying 'take it easy' is in some way promotion of harmony (no?) and i reckon i should be given special bonus points, extra retailer discounts, VIP status in FC or some 'get out of jail free' tokens instead of some infraction (whatever the hell kind of STD that is)

Update - from what I've read here, the Silver Surfer GG wands are basically the same as the old style DaBuddha wands (a little heavier and a little color added). So, I just purchased 2 of those to replace my broken wand. I now know how important that back-up wand can become. Hopefully, delivery won't take very long.

I really love the da buddha and all that has been said about the 'big hit' is true; Cause after one big toke , you really develop a "C'est la vie" attitude to your favourite football team losing or when you have been accused of removing modnotes and it certainly puts me in a light-hearted humorous vein when i run across the stink of communist dictators. Seriously, the DBV is one hell of a good vape, just what is needed to chill when you run across idiots.
