Thanks for the previous advice, guys. I'm slowly getting the hang of this thing. ;)

I'm trying to conserve as much as possible. I'd like to take like 1-2 tokes every 15-30 minutes rather than blast the whole bowl at once. Is that an idea that will keep the medication working longer? I have relatively low tolerance so far. If I did this should I just leave Da Buddha running during a session?

Also, as long as I'm getting vapour, should I keep going?

yea I did the same. I would take more like 5-8 tokes and then stop and go back at it again later for a second session.

I am based in the UK and have decided to buy da Buddha. I am in america next week on holiday and am going to buy it while I'm over there as this will work out cheapest.
We run on 230v here, I believe you run at 110v. Will I need to buy a transformer to use my da Buddha over here?

Thanks, problem is I won't be buying from 7th floor. I'm only there for 2 weeks and don't want any possible problems with getting it delivered. I am just wanting to pay cash at a local head shop so wouldn't think I'd get the voltage choice. Staying in Orlando but also visiting Miami where there are 3 shops listed as authorised dealers on the 7th floor site.

if that is the case..... you may want to call all the shops you MIGHT be visiting and ask if they have a model with your countries power specs. i am going to go out on a limb and say i doubt they will but you never know and it may save you some time and frustration in the process

Right looks like I can expect to pay $190 (£125) in a head shop in the us. I can get one on eBay here for £140 which will be the 240v model so I won't have to buy a transformer.
I reckon I might just bite the bullet and order it over here, the transformer cost is likely to make the price the same anyway. Only downside is I won't have a warranty?

Ok, let's see, I'm almost 1 month into my new life in DaBuddhaville, and I'm a very happy camper.

I have not only reduced my usage from about an 1/8th a day to about a gram/day because of increased efficiency, I enjoy it more. To me the high is much better. It is much more euporic. I find myself having this huge shit eating grin on my face all day long. The high feels cleaner, more relaxed, yet energetic. The flavor is simply phenomenal in the dbv. I am fortunate to have good supplies of 6 different strains of NorCal outdoor organic plus several ounces of kief from those 6 strains trim to sample. With dbv my supply is sure to last until fall harvest.

I smoked cannabis for over 40 years and my chronic coughing and persistent phlegm has been reduced by about 85%. This is a really great benefit of vaping. I am hoping the cough and phlegm will go away completely over time. I also like the stealthier aspect of vaping vs busting.

When I busted, I would keep my normal even level of high throughout the day, but then go a little crazy at night. I'd want to smoke multiple bowls and joints trying to get where I wanted to be. With dbv at night, I mix a little kief in with the bud and I feel satisfied with just a little.

So I am also interested in decreasing the bowl diameter/size. I read through this entire thread to get ideas. The options I am considering are:

1. Get the modified ssv hc, and try the ssv whip, and vb miniwhip. I really want to try this.

2. Custom 14mm wand with 18mm/14mm reducer. There is a lhs that blows all their own glass, but I haven't been able to catch the owners there yet. They're supposed to be in tonight, so I'll see how much they want for it. I found a website that sells 1 piece male 14mm wand/tube/mouthpiece setup for $25, but they are out of stock and I emailed them and they say they don't get too many. I also e-mailed 7th Floor about getting a custom 14mm setup, but they haven't got back to me, hopefully yet.

3. Airizer elbow, I think this is a better option than getting the dome screens and using them with the stock dbv wand, as they seem to get stuck in the hc, although a little filing of the lip might mitigate that problem and I could still get the wand hash, without rigging a wand up to the elbow and hitting it from the side. I have one question about the dome screen, what is its' approximate maximum capacity?

This is the option I just employed about an hour ago. I bought a 18/14 reducer, and a 14/14 male/male adapter. I put the 7th floor tubing right onto the ground glass and I'm puffing away after hand cutting a screen. The male/male adapter is cool in that has a donut handle, which keeps the bowl tilting up and off the table I set it on between hits. The only thing I don't like so far is that I don't have a wand, so no wand hash. I might just get a tube to add on.

With the 18mm wand, I had settled on about .07g bowls, dial set at 10 (I centered the dial. Off was 9 when i got it now off is 5). I would get one fat hit, and one, sometimes two decent hits before I would turn it up to 11:20 or so and get two, maybe 3 skimpy hits.

With the 14mm, I've been fooling around and I notice that I have to set temperature slightly lower, but I definitely feel that I am getting a slightly more concentrated first hit and a definitely stronger 2nd hit on a .07g bowl. It may be due to temperature variation. I definitely need to experiment further, a good excuse to smoke a bunch more;), but based on my results so far, this setup seems to be doing just what I hoped it would. I am getting more concentrated hits, and I can load smaller bowls easily (probably .02g no prob). I'm thinking I may settle in at about .04-.05g/bowl. I believe this will lead to greater efficiency.

Thanks to all the posters in this thread for helping me figure out how to best use my dbv. I am so grateful for my dbv. I will never go back.

Edit: I went down to the lhs and the guy said he would make a 14mm wand for $15 or less. I am pretty stoked. I may get a little bubbler to attach to my dbv from them also. I still want to get the modified ssv hc to try.

Does anyone else use a us 110v model in the UK using a voltage converter? Unsure which rating converter to get, looking at Amazon most popular converters are either 45w, 100w or 150w. I might just email 7th floor if people are unsure.

I've been using my Buddha for a few years now and I still love it. It is the best plug-in unit I have ever used (I've used a HerbalAire and an Extreme Q), it is the AK47 of wall vapes. It might not have all the bells and whistles, but it is a tank, extremely quick and easy to use, and gives enormous hits every time.

Lately I've been getting really stoned off a tiny bit of herb. The unit instructions say to fill to the point where the entire screen is covered, but I've been putting a lot tinier amounts in it.

Fill the bowl with a tiny pinch, about the the tip of a bic pen cap. So it stays centered in the screen, and so the airflow goes through it, keep the bowl vertical. You can re-center it by pulling on the whip while tapping the bowl with your finger, it'll all get sucked to the center.

Have your Buddha a little past 12 o'clock, and tilt the entire unit sideways, resting the edge of the base on the edge of your desk. You will get one really good hit, and maybe if you stir, another weak one. With decent herb, this is usually enough to get me happily lifted.

Happy vaping yall

Such a sad day!!! :( it seems there is something wrong with my very special friend DaBuddha :( he was working fine yestarday and i had a little blowback onto the element. so i let him cool down so i could take him apart and clean him (as i have done so many times in the years). i cleaned him up and put him back together. i turned the dial to high and the orange light in the back came on...... but to my sadness the heating element is NOT heating up. i use my Buddha everyday so this is very saddening to me

If you were cleaning it perhaps something got mislodged? Have you tried taking the HC and moving the element a bit?

yea... i did that... pushed in gently as well

I suggest contacting 7th floor then, it seems the only option. :/

unless someone else here might have had the same problem and could help you out. it seems that it was the cleaning that did it though, hence it could be repairable by you, i think.

Sorry mmenzie, unless you are comfortable around wires and electricity, it sounds like 7th Floor is the place.

thanks Vitolo. I just got off the phone with Chris from 7th Floor and started the process to get my DaBuddha repaired. $53.00 for round trip shipping and the repair of the unit was more than worth it to me. My DaBuddha may be old (bought mine in 07) and the unit itself my not be the newest unit on the market but it has served me SOOOOO well over the years... i had to repair him... i just could not replace him. Hopefully i will be learning the ways of zen from my Buddha soon!!!

Hey guys! First time posting, very cool website as I'm a huge fan of vaporizers! I've owned da Buddha for a little over a year and still love it just as much as the day I got it. Anyways, yesterday I got bho that was real powdery almost like kief with little chunks. So it wasn't fun to dab so I decided to put it in my wand. Filled it up with herb to where I usually do then put the bho on top just covering the herb. It was around 2 dabs worth and melted into the herb right away. It lasted almost 60 hits! I got very medicated and it was nice to not have to reload the whip for a few hours! I'm sure this has been talked about somewhere on this forum, but I highly recommend it... Pun intended

Hey Vitolo! Literally did that for the first time right before I came on here! Thanks anyways cause it worked much better. I've been sub'd to your YouTube channel for a long time! Love the videos and you have a great arsenal of vaporizers! Someday I hope to have a collection that will rival yours

this technique is also extremely useful for vaping kief and some types of hash, it's just difficult with more than two people
