I don't think that is normal. Someone else will comment to ensure this is the correct information. But having plastic rip off into your vape is not something I would consider to be normal.

I haven't used it without the cooling unit, but have hooked a mighty up to the Orbiter with a glass stem you can get on vapefiend, works very, very well.

Did you use any further adapter or does it fit by coincidence? Sadly it is sold out so I guess I have to find another shop that sells it.

It just slides into the Orbiter whip. You'll have to take the existing glass tube out and replace it with that. It comes with a little rubber ring to make it fit in the Crafty CU where the mouthpiece goes.

Crafty>glass stem>Orbiter input whip>Orbiter>Orbiter output whip

Does that make sense?

That being said, if I could go back and do it again, I would have bought the mighty. It has twice the battery life, which would be really nice.

If the crafty ever breaks, tell them you want a mighty, they'll charge you for the upgrade, but you can make it happen.

It does have a bit of a smell when stored (certainly if you store it loaded). In my case, the drawer it goes into gives off a bit of a smell when it is opened. However, I do not put it in any sort of smell-proof container, so bad on me.

There is also a smell when using it. As it heats up, you'll see a thin stream of vapor released from the mouthpiece. This is enough to get a smell into the air but it doesn't last for very long. Now, in this case, understand that as the user, you're probably tuning out the smell more than someone who just walks into the room. So, the size of the room and the sensitivity of any unwanted guests will have an impact. I have used it in a small bathroom and the smell has lingered for several minutes, even with an open window. Within 5-10 minutes, people have used that same room and have not commented about "unexpected" smells.

No problem! I had to ask here several times for the recommendation. I got the small PackRatz. It's a very snug fit. Holds just the Crafty, the cleaning brush, and other similar small and flat stuff. The loading tool does not fit, but I don't use it anyway (I use a salt spoon). $17 on Amazon. I love this case...it works great for me!

I use a ryot piper bag and can fit the crafty, loading tool, pax2, sili container and pen vape in it. It works well.

Hi FC, I just want to share my 3 day experience with the crafty so far.

Purchasing it was an easy choice to make after reading so many fantastic comments about performance, efficiency, and the consistently dense clouds. Sadly for me, i did not get it right off the bat, and even now after how many attempts of improving the experience, half pack and full pack, with pad and without, even trying diff temps, i still can't seem to get it right. Watching videos from users showcasing the awesome clouds and them getting that effect quick, i get jealous why mine cant perform the same? I don't get lifted at all. Just maybe a slight buzz tops. and although the flavor is great in the first 3 hits, its like sucking tasting air afterwards. crazy. I don't notice any taste when drawing after like the 5-7 draw, hardly any vapor. I even used quality herb too. waste.

I don't notice and broken parts or physical defects, could it be internal? Also, what sucks is that i have a blackberry, just recently found a way to obtain the app in my phone, works, but it wont connect to my device some how?

* i wish to post a short vid of my session with it, and hopefully you great people can help me where might the problem be.

* Update i don't know if this is important but i noticed a marking in the inner walls of my chamber. cause for concern?

When you say 'similar to combustion' , 'cheaper would be helpful' the first thing that comes to my mind is butane power to the rescue (if butane is something your ok with) something like a Vapman, Lily, Daisy (I have all three of these and love each one and each fills a different need) lotus or vapor genie, lots out there to choose from, right now Daisy is my most used (by quite a bit) it's a beast of a cloud machine (almost smoke like clouds, bigger than any of my other vapes can do) and add to that no charging and instant hits

Oh yea, VAS has started, I'm in the club I had no idea what you meant by butane, looked it up and I'm sold. The Daisy, Lily and Vapman look really cool. I'm ordering either the Daisy or the Lily, maybe both (help me now). The Daisy seems to be the perfect one for someone transitioning from combustion.

My main backup is the Arizer solo, they can be had for cheap these days, although if portability and stealth is an issue, maybe go the Arizer Air (it’s smaller slightly more expensive brother).

I suggest the air I bought one as the crafty goes back too much and I love it.

Hey don't give up on the Crafty, I felt the same way when I first got it, I didn't see too much clouds but that was due to my inexperience with vaping. Not sure if your new to vaping, but there was a learning curve for me. First off, are the meds dry, if not leave them out for a couple of hours or more so they dry out. Don't grind them too fine, leave them a bit coarse. Pack the bowl full and use the Crafty tool to tamp it down, not too hard. I set my temp to 372 and when it reaches temp draw slowly, if you don't feel the vapor, maybe the material is not too good. Even when I didn't see much clouds, I got pretty well medicated with my Crafty, I could feel the vapor. Now, I'm seeing big clouds, keep trying you'll get it.

I poured all the money I own into an industrial sewing machine capable of sewing through thick industrial materials.

There's been many nights of wanting to rip my hair out, but I believe I've tamed the beast (for now) and here's one of my first creations.

Padded Crafty soft pack. Contains everything needed to operate and maintain the Crafty. Consolidated, and protected in one rugged kit. Sorry the pictures don't really show the inner pockets I've sewn in. That's the fun part, I can put pockets anywhere needed. You get some good looks at the foam padding, I'll try to get some better pics to show all the inner pockets that hold all the goods.

The ancient Roman architects who built stone arches were required to test their work. How? The lead architect had to stand under the arch while the support scaffolding was removed. If their work wasn't up to snuff, the arch came tumblin down on top of them.

......In essence, yes I threw it across the room to test my work, and yes my Crafty is still kickin just fine.

the goods I'm currently workin with is Dutch Treat and I'm off to enjoy a Crafty of that once my lil beaut reaches max power.

Just a thought on this, is everyone that has trouble with this putting the o-ring on all the way down?

Unfortunately I had my 2nd damage due to false placement of the small base seal o-ring. I assumed the o-ring belongs in the notch. But If you place it there, you just squeeze and cut into the o-ring while closing the cap lock.

I now understand why a proper placement of the small base seal o-ring is so crucial for not damaging the small base o-ring, thanks for pointing this out visually , UnshavenFish.

Put the o-ring all the way down to prevent damages to the small base seal ring after reassembling the CU.

S&B should mention this in the users manual. Pricks

Nice Work, you have skills! The last time I used a sewing machine was in textiles at school about 23 years ago.. Oh I'm getting old. :-( I made a waist coat that I wore to the school disco, everyone laughed at me.

Your work looks great, I would like a case like this to keep my things together when out and about. What could improve (for me) would be if you could stitch into it some carbon pellets to help keep the smell down and pu sealed zip!

I currently have a plastic bag with carbon pellets in, then another bag inside this with my stuff in that I keep under my seat when driving, it has helped with the smell esp when I have some blues or cheese in. Not ideal but my motor would stink without it.

Long time no post for me. Just been so busy lately. Anyways my crafty flashed me the lights of death about a month ago at exactly 100 hours. This was one of the early units CY002xxx. I got a brand new one in the mail from S&B, with a full wear and tear kit as well. Great service from them ,I have to say. The new serial is CY019xxx so much newer.

I didn't notice any physical changes, the cooling unit screws on more easily and there is a shorter delay when turning the unit on/off after holding down the power button. The battery also seems to last much longer and heat up time is faster as well, even comparing to my old unit when it was new. The entire warranty process took 3 weeks. Didn't realize how much I would miss it, but man it was worth the wait cause this vape hits hard!. Loving the crafty all over again!

To clarify, are you saying you see vapor coming out of the mouthpiece when you're heating the unit up after first turning it on? If so, that surprises me. I've definitely seen a little vapor leak during use, but always assumed it was vapor I had already pulled into the cooling chamber. I don't think I've ever observed vapor leakage upon first turning it on.

It's always possible you got a dud, but before you give up hope, try this. Set the temp at 190c/374f. When you pack the Crafty, tamp down the herb. Then put a screen on top to keep the material compressed. This setup has always delivered huge clouds for me, personally.

@bigmouth, not upon first turning it on. As it's getting close to the target temp (let's say 20-30 seconds before hitting the target temp, but that's a swag).

They usually send out a new unit the next day after receiving a defective one. If they decide to fix it for some reason that will be longer. You will get an e-mail with tracking on a replacement, however they may contact you if its not as straightforward as that.
