Finally getting to try some bho from some high quality stuff. I own some nice glass and am debating between a nail/torch set up, and a oil vape such as the g-pen (I tried this one out recently and liked it).

Any recommendations for a nail/dome setup and torch? I'm also leaning towards a quartz/glass nail as the heat retention of ti is not necessary imo for small dabs.

Oregonmike (ioffer) sells a complete dome/nail/dabber set for around 35, and I found this blazer torch for 30 as well. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0077SI67M/ref=biss_dp_sa1

    both good deals lou.

hey, anyone else here have experience w/ a domeless quartz nail?
just got one from a local blower and am amazed at the hit. not usually a fan of quartz over ti, but this thing hits amazing and had a fairly easy to dial in hit temp.

Domeless like the vapenwiser or dab essentials or KO nails, or are they more of a honeypot style?

Oh and I personally would love to see a pic of it!

I have a Quartz joel halen honeyhole shown here ( not my video) Is yours like this? My complaint with mine is that is too big and requires a lot of torch time.

sweet! no, not not like that. in style i'd say it's closer to a Dab essentials style, only quartz. it's large, hollow w/ a bunch of slits across the top rim for the vapor to pass thru. my cam is almost dead, but i'll try to snap some pics tomorrow for ya guys.

I am always on the hunt for something that works well without a dome. So far nothing beats the nail and dome. I look forward to your pics!

ended up getting the full 18mm dome kit with glass nail for just 35 shipped :brow: For my needs I figured the glass nail would be better than the ti.

Now just debating between the bonjour torch (aka bed bath and beyond) versus the blazer stingray.

shot 2 quick vids of the nail, w/ my DG glow in the dark fritted disk

first one is up, second should be soon. not much difference between vids other than musical accompaniment, volume and angle of nail from cam.

That quartz nail with slits is awesome! Never seen one exactly like that, where'd you get it? Looks like you've got a mighty fine season layer too

dave goldstein actually, looks like you have one of his pieces. i mention it in his thread, but i stupidly broke my di joint and after emailing him picked up that piece and a quartz nail, which he apparently just started making. i know NVS in beaverton, or and third eye in portland carry his stuff, not sure if the nail is in the stores or which ones. also some of his stuff is on ALT. might keep an eye out over there.

Omg I want that nail! That's the only new concentrate adapter I have liked. I prefer nail and dome. But that's a dome less I could live with!

Interesting method of dabbing. What is that little heating element thing called? Also why do you use that instead of heating up the nail with a torch?

it's a hammer for my persei. the persei does oil carts mainly. the hammer is an accessory. this way i am not wasting any butane. i usually use my herb iron (plug-in version by a diff. company), but since the company that made the leela also made the hammer, i used their product. also, by doing this you aren't getting as many of the waxes and impurities, they stay on the nail to be blasted away later. hope that helps

Hmmmmm that's a part I never considered. I wonder how big of a difference it actually is...... I mean the hammer is still like 1200-1500 deg Fahrenheit isn't it? Instead of the nail being a similar temp. Do you feel some of the oil is wasted (not a concern for someone with a Tami I guess :p ) sitting one the bottom of the nail to be torched later for a cleaning? Or is it fairly minuscule? Slick little device though definitely props to D9 for their continued innovation.

there is a little remnant, but a liiittle oil is wasted. common for this style of dabbing, i have an old concentrate rig that is like a large tall version of the quartz nail in the video. imagine the dish like an inch deep and instead of slots there are three holes spaced around the top inside. put concentrate in center, heat glass rod, dab and stab. i like this much better, access to oil w/ wand and air flow is much more functional
