the fc matrix ion v2 looks alright but once again it's a fairly small chamber dude. maybe it's personal preference but i need something at least the size of the matrix clear with the sublimator.

that's the frustrating thing with dhgate vendors, look at all their larger pieces, they are so overpriced for how basic they are.. they have this logic that the more glass involved means the more expensive the piece should be, this is great for oil lovers because they are producing oil rigs super cheap but i'm not seeing anything decent come out from china for flowers.

What about the YQ-42? It's a solid piece, pretty freaking heavy, and you could choose if you want more or less diffusion based on how you fill it. I bought one for a combusting friend - was really impressed with it

I was asking to see if there was a piece might I have that fits your needs. I understand what you're saying completely. I hate straight tubes too and only have one. I know that SUB is a beast and needs volume to give that guy room to work!! Out of all my glass I'd recommend my inline to 8arm because It's cheap at $52, It's got Good diffusion, great volume and 18mm female and really compliments flavor. I have several pieces I'd love to try with a SUB,but they are all $150 or better. So you're right for Heavy Duty purposes China is slacking in design

Update: (@MGG you'd be interested in this.)

So I paired my sub with my Kathy egg last night.

It's a nice pairing, the egg smoothed out my vapor nicely, however, it definitely took me longer to finish each load - 3-4-5 hits per load instead of 1-2...

It was also useless for trying to hold up the sub. After the added height of the f-f adapter, then a sub buddy, it was almost tippy without the sub heater even on it.

I knew it wouldn't hold the sub up so I had another piece there acting as a sub stand.

So yeah, I wouldn't necessarily want it as my dedicated sub rig, but it was a fun pairing :)

just bought this guys, stevenmlz new peyote pillar, seems to function great, worried about drag though, seems to have small intake tube/disk at the top

Looks like you were the first. Nice! Pics look good. MP is reinforced, that's a plus. Also looks like my favorite type of MP. Rolled and not super flared. That makes its purchase more likely. However, I'm going to hold off until I hear reviews on this one and actual use videos and after the CNY. I too wonder about the tiny intake hole pictured. But our homie @MGG will let us know:tup:

Pretty sure what you are seeing is one of the four pillars attatching to the splash chamber, under the bigger opening into the top chamber, as highlighted below.

Call me crazy but after seeing that picture of the matrix to peyote i just pre-ordered it lol.. so i'll probably be one of the first to review the pieces.

The one up for preorder right now, is not the one I just posted. It has a different neck/mouthpiece. Chinese New Year is slowing things down a lot more than expected, but we should be seeing a new listing in the store for a piece like the one I just posted.

Just so you don't get confused, the perc above the matrix is a pillar perc (each tube is one pillar.) The peyote part of "Peyote Pillar" is the little ball that is replaced in this piece, by the matrix. That's why it's a Matrix Pillar vs the original Peyote Pillar. The mini-pillar piece has 4 pillars and a different perc on the bottom. The larger pillar piece has 8 pillars, and a matrix perc.

wait are we sure.. because i thought those were just old pictures of the updated matrix to peyote pillar.. i didn't realize they were going to release two matrix to peyote pillars with different mouth pieces O.O can you please confirm because i'm going to have to cancel that order then do'h

This is interesting, I think this will clear any doubts about how many matrix to pillars he is going to release.

Yea they are two different pieces.

Steven originally told me he would make 50 the way I told him which is the picture I posted, as decided in the Custom Glass Designs Thread, by all the voters, and 50 with the neck from the top.

He just made the sample with the neck from the top first, and put it up as an advanced listing.

I spoke with him tonight, and he said the sample for the one I posted would be ready by he end of the month, and the mass production should be started as well.



I am interested as to what he responds to your message.

I ordered the FC-710 , dropdown(they accidentally added another), and 2 pen bubblers after seeing @blankrider review. Placed the order on the 1st and both packages came today....10 days for Sunshine and Steven. Not bad at all. Sunshine hit LA then Hawaii where as Steven landed in SF.

Packaging was very good with both and all my pieces arrived safetly.

Extremely happy with these 2 sellers and their products!

Comparing to other eggs; I've never tried an American egg, they're just way too expensive for me to even consider (I think the cheapest one I've seen was like 500),
I've got the other Kathy egg type rig - the shower head to honeycomb to egg.

They seem to share the same shower head perc, they're both pretty cool.

This new one is a lot more like a typical egg, I'd probably pick it over the other Kathy egg if I could only have one of them, but they're both cool and imo if you're interested in an egg you should try both :tup:

The neck is a bit of a letdown, it is a bit narrower than I was expecting, and seems a little thin, it's very similar to the neck on my Steven ball rig.
It doesn't seem to add much/any restriction, but there's some room for improvement there imo.

The prototype egg Steven made still looks the most like a mothership, and I'll absolutely be getting one of them if he ever puts them into production (unlikely at this point, but the more interest it gets the more likely I'm thinking it'll be that it gets made).

I wish this Kathy egg was about 2x the size (note, not necessarily 2x as tall, but just more volume/larger overall), but as it is its a very nice little rig.

The hit has a nice feel to it, it seems to function quite well

Fingers crossed they copy a mad rob stye egg with holes on the top and bottom halves - more eggs =

Can some one link a video to the Steven egg people have been talking about ? I have not seen such an egg and I love Stevens work. Would definitely pay top dollar for a Steven egg

As far as I remember there is no such video...

There was however talk of a limited run of those eggs, but not sure what happened to that

Edit: I believe @blankrider is the person who knows a bit more about it
