Kamloops woman sues B.C. Cannabis Stores claiming mislabelled pot messed up her study session

According to a statement of claim, the provincial government’s B.C. Liquor Distribution Branch and B.C. Cannabis Stores sold a Kamloops woman a cannabis product that was labelled as low in THC and high in CBD but which apparently contained the opposite of that description.

“The defendants failed to warn the plaintiff of the dangers of this product,” it reads. “it was mislabelled at the time of purchase.”

The plaintiff, Kimberly Webster, is a student at Thompson Rivers University. In the notice of claim, she says she ingested the product without intending to get high, and that it impaired her for a time during which she had intended to study for midterms. The mislabelled product therefore affected her grades, Webster claims.

At least he wasn't blasting indoors; that'll get you in a LOT of trouble with the fellow firefighters.

    https://www.miamiherald.com/news/state/florida/article222990325.html

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies say Lt. Tavoris Allen, who serves at the Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue Station #26 in Plant City, had a “botanical extractor” machine along with two marijuana plants inside the station, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

The machine was being used Monday to convert the plants into cannabis oil — a concentrated liquid form of the plant —and Allen told deputies the device and its ingredients were his, Fox 13 reported.

CBD oil, which has become increasingly popular as a form of medical marijuana, has the benefits of marijuana without the THC high.

Allen was charged with possession of a controlled substance, with cannabis oil cited on his booking report, by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. He paid his $2,000 bail and was released Tuesday morning.

AP Photos: Naked pot-smoking sect grows at Indian Hindu fest

PRAYAGRAJ, India (AP) — At the world’s largest pilgrimage in Prayagraj in northern India, tens of millions of Hindu faithful travel to the sacred sangam — the confluence of three holy rivers — to take a dip.

The Kumbh Mela, or pitcher festival, is a series of baths by Hindu sadhus and sadhvis, holy men and women, and other pilgrims who believe the ritual cleanses them of their sins and ends the process of repeated reincarnation.

For some, stripping down for a holy dip also signifies the stripping away of the material world.

At every Kumbh, including this year’s, thousands of devotees are initiated into the reclusive sect of the Naga Sadhus — naked, ash-smeared cannabis-smoking Hindu warriors and onetime-armed defenders of the faith who for centuries have lived as ascetics in jungles and caves.

On so-called royal bathing days, the Naga Sadhus lead the 13 monastic orders’ processions — on garlanded horses, elephants and tractors — through the festival grounds and into the river, armed with tridents and swords.

Performed by senior priests, the elaborate process of initiation comprises five rituals, starting with the shaving of heads and beards, ritual offering of saffron robes, wearing prayer beads, applying ash on the body and giving up their last piece of clothing.

The aspirants have to take a vow of celibacy, practice tough physical and mental conditioning and renounce worldly possessions and family ties.

After a purifying bath in the river and a prayer ceremony, the sadhus have to perform “Pind Dan,” a Hindu funeral ritual to pay homage to their ancestors for the salvation of their souls.

Usually this ritual is performed only after a person dies.

But the last “Pind Dan” ritual at the Naga initiation ceremony is for the sadhu himself, symbolizing the unity of his soul with God.

“They will consider themselves dead, and only their soul will live on. They will pronounce themselves dead even while living,” said Santosh Mishra, a 50-year-old priest of the Juna Akhara monastic order.

After they are ordained, the Naga Sadhus must remain partially or fully naked for the rest of their lives, sleep on the ground, limit themselves to one meal a day, obey their leaders and gurus and protect the Hindu religious traditions.

The ancient Kumbh festival, which UNESCO added to its list of intangible cultural heritage in 2017, runs through early March. About 150 million people are expected to attend.

Vape pen explodes in teen’s mouth; injuries resemble results of ‘high-speed’ crash

...“He had a very swollen lower jaw and lip, a small burn on his lip and a huge cut in his mouth” said Russell, the hospital’s trauma medical director. “A two centimeter piece of his jaw was just blown to pieces.”

Skirko, the other surgeon who worked on Austin, said he was shocked to learn that an e-cigarette had caused the extensive injuries.

“I’ve dealt with lots of facial trauma . . . and dealt with some really kind of exotic things like grizzly bear attacks and things like that, but this is one that I had never seen before,” he said.

Austin needed two surgeries to repair the damage, Skirko said. During one of the procedures, titanium plates were placed in his mandible to stabilize the bone, and the other flesh injuries were fixed up. Skirko said it was unclear if the hole in Austin’s chin had been caused by a piece of the vape pen or a tooth...
For those wondering, VGOD is the manufacturer of the "pen".

Mike Tyson says he smokes $40G worth of pot each month

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson this week said he and his podcast co-host smoke around $40,000 worth in pot each month on his California ranch where he grows cannabis.

If you grow your own, and still assume a $10/g cost, that would be 4000 grams. What do they pump the stuff in through central air?

TV Helicopter Unwittingly Exposes Rooftop Weed Operation During Bike Race

Catalan cops seized over 40 cannabis plants from a rooftop near Barcelona yesterday thanks to information from an unexpected source: a TV helicopter broadcasting this month’s Vuelta a España. Stage 8 of the race finished in the town of Igualada on Saturday, and as the race made its way through the city streets at the end of the stage, helicopter footage showed a whole bunch of (presumably) dank weed on someone’s rooftop.

Do the marijuanas give you the ghey or does the ghey give you the marijuanas?

    https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/09/190904113222.htm
Bisexual women had higher rates of past-year and daily marijuana use compared to heterosexual women, according to a study just published at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Gay/lesbian women were also more likely to report daily marijuana use and past year medical marijuana use than heterosexual women. While previous research has explored the association between state-level medical marijuana laws (MMLs) and marijuana use (MU) and MU disorder (MUD) among the general U.S. population, this is the first to explore this relationship for lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) individuals, including gender differences. The findings are online in the journal Drug and Alcohol Dependence...

Yep, or not even. I would take one of these bales for dry times.
It must be better than it looks as they tried to smuggle that into california. But it really sounds like bringing water to the sea.

Maybe it will make you think of the sea and the beach, when you vape it.

Yeah, a decade ago I used to get Mexican brick for $50 - $60 an oz...and full of stems and seeds as it was, it wasn't terrible. It was nowhere near the quality of the buds I can usually find today. In fact, some of the lower quality buds that I get on occasion today are significantly better than that brickweed was. However, In dry times I'd happily take that brick again instead of having nothing.
