yesterday I read an article in the newspaper that all teachers at a meeting at some elemtary school got ill, they first blamed a too high temp and not enough ventilation, today I read an article that said they found cannabis in their blood/urine, and that they had diner before the meeting(wich was prepared by a caterer)

I myself once had a similar situation as in the article, my first time ever making edibles, I was 15(younger as 16 since I still had to be sneaky about it, and I started smoking when I was 15 so must be 15)
I made the butter beforehand, since I wanted to take the brownies on a schooltrip, my parents were away one night 1-2 weeks before so I could make the butter, but I wanted fresh brownies for the trip so I decided to store the butter then just make the brownies with my parents present, and since my mother has a liking for sweet things I decided to make 2 batches, one regular and one special, so that of I had no option but giving her some I could just give her the regular
by coincidence I put nuts in the special
I used 2 slightly different recipes to have an explanation for making 2 batches(and that I wanted to compare what was best)
but the brownies stayed gooy too long, so it was hurrying at the last moment and while I got some things ready my mom put the brownies in containers for me, but she took a spoonfull of the special with a soupspoon, amd also some of the regular because she wanted to compare the recipes
I had to go to catch the bus, so I didn't have time to somehow get that spponfull back
so in the bus I was worrying a bit I would be in trouble, but I would be away for a few days, in another country(was a skiing trip, to france)
so I decided to just put it out of my head and deal woth it when I came back

when I came home, my mother said to me that next time I had to check the expiration date of the nuts, because the nuts had a funny/weird taste

..phew
we had a great time with those brownies in the bus btw, definatly one of the highest I ever been, we were laughing are asses of just a few rows behind the teacher and the ski-instructors that were on the bus

CA peoples: The story says, "No action was taken, even though a criminal charge...administering a noxious substance could have been laid."

What is considered a "noxious" substance? I know what a controlled substance is, but no quick search came up with why this "noxious" law would apply to cannabis. Does is apply to the transfer of a controlled substance or possibly administration of a controlled substance to an unknown party (i.e., the old slipping LSD in your teachers coffee trick)?

Eh, stories about people consuming weed edibles unknowingly have been popping up for decades. I remember one about a guy who fed them to some door-to-door Jehovah's Wittnesses (or were they Mormons?). And then there's this classic of a cop who baked brownies with his wife, ate too many, and then in a panic, called 911 about it.

Canadians are luckily much more relaxed when it comes to cannabis laws... they just seem to get it that marijuana usage doesn't make one a criminal, especially when it's an unfortunate mistake.
