Hey guys! I was looking for a normal pen-style battery that doesn't block the cartridges' airflow (for example King Pens).

I tried to use a cartridge with my Vaporesso Revenger X but if I screw them in then the airflow of the cartridges is very restricted and I don't get the big hits that I'm looking for.

The same thing happened with this battery that I bought. Either I partially unscrew the cartridge and it becomes unstable or I won't be able to properly hit it.

Now I started wondering, does this happen with every battery? Or is it a compatibility problem?

I was looking into the Yocan Evolve or the Vision Spinner (recommended on r/oilpen ). Can anyone confirm that this battery doesn't restrict the airflow or doesn't burn the cartridges (I couldn't find the voltage of this pen online, but I read somewhere that it might be too powerful).

Thank you all for the help!

Also, as I'm based in UK/Europe, please don't recommend me pens that are almost impossible to get here. I usually buy these things from FastTech!

I'm not sure I'm following completely. I think you're saying what's commonly called a 'battery' (it's really not, it's a power supply with connector, charging and control circuits and other good stuff not normally called batteries) is restricting airflow to 510 carts?

If so the problem is the cart connector, ironically. With very few exceptions air enters through the two holes above the threads on the cart and down then across the bottom of the center pin (usually with grooves to aid the flow) then up the center of the center pin.

If you're handy, you can open up those holes and 'improve' the slot. I've done both, but there's a limit to what can be done that way (there are still restrictions elsewhere in the cart that dominate. I did find (and buy) an adapter that screws on top of the mod that has vents in the side and a big hole in the center pin. It's intended for E-cig use (their 'carts' can be huge). It came from a now closed shop, I was told it was often used on 'upgrades to RDAs' (apparently RDA is a type of serious e-cig 'burner', capable of 'huge clouds'). You might check out E-cig shops near you. After that the mod underneath doesn't matter, use what ever is handy.

    Good luck with it.

Thanks for the answer first of all!

Yeah I called it a battery but I'm referring to a stick pen, I called it a battery because that's how they call it over at r/oilpen.

Anyway, with all the cartridges I tried, the issue is that when I screwed them in the pens I had or the box mod I use to vape daily (Vaporesso Revenger X), the two airflow holes get locked in and not much air comes through.

Do you think you could find me a link to show me what's the mod you were referring to?

Otherwise I was just looking for a stick pen (such as the Yocan Evolve, or the Vision Spinner) that wouldn't close those two holes that we're talking about, do you think those two wouldn't block the airflow?

I came to the conclusion that the issue was my pens after I bought the King Pens, and those as well would get restricted airflow in all my pens/mods.

I apologize for my English I hope I was clear enough :)

Thank you again for the help :)

    You're welcome.

I thought I said I bought it at a now closed shop, not on line. I entered '510 airflow adapter' in Google and found this fun fellow using one he also bought in a shop:

Mine looked like this as I recall:
    https://www.canvape.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=smokairflow

It's two pieces, you can unscrew between them to adjust.

Smaller, fixed ones also work, but of course are not adjustable:

They, at least 'unblock' the area around the holes.

I'm sorry, I don't own those mods and have a policy of not 'spouting off' on topics without first hand knowledge......
