 Rick will come on any time now and say he uses an empty bottle. I use mason jars. I keep the regs separated from the good. (Hah....that Offspring song, "Keep Em Separated" just came into my mind) In an attempt not to have an ABV baptismal, I blow the stem out towards the side of the jar. I have several jars and if they get too full, dump them into a larger one until I decide I have enough ABV to make edibles.

Whoa dude, it's like you know the future or something :ko:

Are you saying we rehash (pun intended) the same conversations over and over?

Are Cherry Zap's noticeably cooler in temperature compared to Cherry PD's?

I own a Cherry PD and used a Cherry Zap and it seems significantly cooler in temperature compared to the PD.
I have a cherry Zap and cherry PD. The PD is somewhat hotter. Not a big enough sample to really say anything definitively. Possibly the cherry PD's do run a bit hotter, because they are a little fatter, thus insulating better and keeping heat in. I get pretty similar temps in the Zap by making a little sweater for it out of an old sock with the toe cut off.

When I had a PD I'd wrap it up in my robe so it actually hits at a desirable temp and its like having a built in vape on your body....just what I need...imagine having a vaporizer surgically installed into your body that runs off your energy...vaping whenever you need too

Is it just me or does FC sign you out very fast? Hmmm....anywhoo..

On the topic of my avatar lol.....yes indeed it can be hmmmmm let's say distracting..........I found myself being almost as distracted staring at Chaos' avi. Ha love that one.....Just hope my avatar isn't too offensive for this forum....never can tell these things. Hey I love it :brow:

I personally use a mason jar for my avb.

Rick, Was wondering.....see I have 2 Zaps, love em. Thank you again. I'm a customer for life. The 1st one I ordered was a Myrtle 2nd was a Cherry. I'm back and forth btw NY & LA a bunch so I keep my Myrtle unit in NY. Most the time I'm using my Cherry. I now prefer my avb looking more on the lighter side. I use a 12v on both units. I always felt my Myrtle maybe ran a tad to warm (for my liking) but it wasn't a make or break thing I just prefer it lighter. But now I'm finding the Myrtle is charring a bit too much. I can actually taste a bit of a possible combustion or some kind of unsavory taste. My cherry on the other hand has fully burned in but gives me more of a lighter avb, although still, I would prefer lighter still. To be exact, I LOVE the temperature that an UN-BROKEN in (or burned in if you will) unit produces. Love it. So my question to you is, when I order my next unit, is there anyway at all to maybe get my temperature down just a smidge? Thicker log? Thinner log? Wood type? The new tooty tips probably help a bit as well. If you cannot I understand completely. I will just order and hope that she's a bit cooler. Also might help to mention the Myrtle heat port is a bit loose now (she's taken a few hits) but it doesn't bother me. Don't know if that would factor in.....just thought I should mention it. Thanks for your time Rick. Really appreciate it

Funny thing is I used to like my AVB on the darker end. Guess I've matured. hahaaa on second thought, doubt it.

All three woods are very close in density so I cannot say one of this or that would be better for you. I can say a thicker log will help and I can also say I have blocks of each species that are denser than most. A small knot maybe or just a heavier chunk of wood for the same size. With most of the FC talk and desires, I have been moving away from those pieces as most folks want darker ABV.
Here's the bottom line. Email me and refresh your Zap history with me. We might just find another block of wood for your hot one. Some of that beautiful Myrtle was low density stuff and ran on the warm side.
I also have a block of western ash I could try on you. A beauty, already turned but no internals.

I agree on the fast sign out here. I often have to copy/paste my post a second time 'cause I am so slow and get carried away with words sometimes.

Thanks for the quick response. Wow i'm so stoked you're willing to work with me thanks very much. I'd be willing to try whatever you think will work best. That Western Ash sounds like a great idea, I'm up for it. :)

I'll email you right now. Thanks again Sir!

So I usually go for the heavy hitting indica dominant OG's. With my walnutzap, since it gives a sativa feeling, should I start picking up more sativa dominant hybrids like Fire OG or should I just go for straight sativas like Jack Herer and Green Crack now with more THC and less CBN? I hear the Cannabinol is not gonna be released at this temp, atleast at full potential (what temp. does this unit run at, roughly?) Also where is the section with tips on this device besides this forum? Also do you vape BHO hash in this? is that chill? it's purged well and not runny.

jack herrer isn't a full sativa, it's a hybrid wich is slightly sativa dom, but I(this varies for others ofcourse) get still a more indica effect from jack herrer(if you want a commercial strain with sativa effect, look for haze-strains)

Now i cant wait to try out a log vape. Ordered it last thursday, still waitin on shipping confirmation, stoked. Ordered the intense walnut zap, with extra stem stock for bongin it :D . God damn, i keep checkin my email like every hour, gotta learn some patience.

^^^didn't think to check auto part stores. all the home depots, wal-marts etc. near me never have it in stock either.

Hell yes!!! I used it to repair a busted coolant repair nipple on an old VW Fox. It lasted longer than the radiator.

That looks like its fabric sides and neoprene bottom. How does it work? I was thinking of trying a foam one.

edit: Oh, I guess I see, it's foam-like stuff covered with fabric?

its made from the same material that is used to make wetsuits. insulates very well, and it has a rubber grip on the bottom so it's not going anywhere. .

Heh, I said the exact same thing of mine when I first got it as well :brow: Its a really neat thing about this wood that pictures never do justice to. Have you had your first zappolishing yet?

I use linseed oil (I have close to a 1/2 gallon) and a dedicated terry washcloth. The grain pops and it glows. I also used to oil rub my dugouts. It strengthens and protects the wood.
