Got my Zap today.......She's Light! Oh and the AVB is Blonde.....my favorite! Actually still see green....and it's hard to get it brown past that stage......PERFECT!!!! Now I know she's gonna burn in a bit but I love this stage.....hoping it doesn't burn in too much. Either way I know I'm getting a 4th someday......

I'm back in business and look forward to the next few weeks with my new baby........Man I just love light colored AVB...... I truly believe once you go over a certain threshold of heat the medicine takes a slap. Essentially I think you 'burn off' the best canibinoids in the bud. That's why I opt for cooler Zaps. At first I wanted monster hits that would 'juice' the bud in one go because I was used to cheap vapes - but now I like to build up the heat slowly. The great thing is you still get LOTS of visible vapour.....in fact more...Cuz at higher temps it's gone right away.....this way you get 5 or so good rips without frying it. Cuz let's face it......combustion sucks! haa

OK, everything is out for the week that is getting out. We did get held up on a few misc small orders that included a Tooty. Tim the Tooty maker received some tubing out of spec so we were held up for an extra day or two. Those orders will all ship Monday along with a Cherry Zap we are watching for an extra day.

i had my digi cam and box cutter on the table before she even got here. unfortunately when i went to use my camera i couldnt get it to turn on. its battery has been going bad for some time or at least thats what i think happened to it. it won't even take a charge.
trying to get a friend to bring a camera over so i can get a pic. its quite beautiful and would love to share it. it even has a little "gangsta lean" to it that i think really gives it character.

sorry guys still no camera for pics.
few questions: is the 13.5v still available? i find that my abv still leaves a bit of green, its not even a gold color, more of a yellow. i know its supposed to warm up over time and get hotter right? would it make sense for me to get the 13.5 or just wait it out with the 12v until it heats up.
i can always revape in my herbalaire, but i just want darker abv from my zap.
any tips of tricks would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. i have put a sock on the unit to see if it helps, hard to tell if it does though.

if someone wants to give me the run down to a proper stem packing that will be great. im thinking now its a stem packing error because the abv on the tip area is darker then closer towards the screen. perhaps my grind isnt fine enough or im packing too tightly.

I have a question about amperage.
I was at radioshack and I noticed they had a variable transformer that outputted between 9 and 13.5 volts. This seemed perfect except for the fact it only supported .8 amps. How much does .2 amps matter?

i keep my ground herb in a nug jar. basically a i just push my tootie/stem into the nug jar and inhale gently. pull the tootie out and very lightly "smooth" any excess any material off the stems tip. no need to pack it down. sometimes i don't even need to inhale, i just press down on the stem a bit and gently force some ground herb, just from pressure alone. this works well when you wanna do half packs for bong rips. there is no need to pack the herb down, since i always hold the zap sideways angle. make sure your grind is not too fine as well. as for not heating up to the right temp. give it a week. its a brand new unit and needs to be "broken in" a bit. one more thing. try switching up your draw technique. best way to describe it is pretend you trying to drink a real thick milkshake.

Have you tried the sock/coozie method yet? I know that for me this works best and I dont have to flip flop between power supplies. And my ABV has (some) green in it as well. I dont necessarily rely on that (entirely) as a gauge of how well my herb is vaped. The TASTE is what determines when a stem is done. If there is one thing every single person has commented on when they hit the Zap is how spectacular the taste is.
Even with a little extra 'green' in my ABV this just equates to edibles/tincture that would be a bit more potent than if I ran everything through my SSV.

thanks guys. still learning my new log. its much different then any other vape ive owned. seems its breaking in more and more everyday, i just did a stem and it was darker then before.

okay its all about proper grinding and stem pack because my last stem pack came out an even golden color.
