Hi Solo fans. I've got a question for you guys. And I'll start saying that I am visually impaired so sifting throught 1000 + pages isn't really an option. Anyways... I recently quit combusting and purchased a Lotus which I love but do to a decline in my eyesight I am having a bit of difficulty using it on my own. I had done a search for the best vapes for the blind or low vision users and the Solo came up alot. So... Load wise what kind of gong would allow the same as my lotus.... Ive read some about the pvhegong which looks exactly like what i may need? Would a shorty be better for attaching to my glass? For PIU is there any kind of protocol for the price match? Money is tight and every penny counts these days. If I can save a few on the unit I will be able to get the eveything else I might need... screens cleaning etc... Basically in the FC community... whats your opinion.... Can you guys use this with your eyes closed? Thanks guys!

Never tried it with my eyes closed, but I've loaded it and got it going in full darkness, although I did 'cheat' and use the keyboard light to check the vapor.

If you want a GonG stem, PV is the only option I know of. They don't 'price match' since there are no competitors. Dealing with screens (which will foul out) with poor vision is going to be trouble, but using just the stock four holes in the stem should be fine. Lotus seems a step the wrong way what with waving fire all around.

The only vision issue I see is keeping track of the battery level/charging. If you made 5 or 6 sessions between charges the routine, that too should be easy enough. But as far as sucking up some ground herb and packing it in a bit with a finger tip, it's easy.

I think Solo is an excellent vape to consider. Likewise the Herbal Aire might make a good desktop?

Beat wishes.

Thank you for the speedy reply. :)

You're quite welcome, glad to help when I can, as are many others round here.

Am I following you correctly here, you plan to use this with a Water Tool? Not so portable, does this mean you don't really need a portable? A Solo with full time PA would eliminate charging from the drill.......

I usually use my stock stem with the newer model Solo, but enjoying the PVHES bent shorty tonight, lots of vapor, nice smooth taste on level 4. Thought I would check to see if I could order a couple of extra from Planetvape, it doesn't even have a date up now, says "out of stock".

I too agree. In my brief (and still changing) experience with the new version the stock stems seem more to my liking. At least for now.

I get the frustration with 'out of stock' but vastly prefer it to, 'what do you bid?' or worse 'how much you got there?'. And both those are much better than 'what are you talking about'. Waiting, nose pressed against the window, is a frustrating option, but it beats none at all all hollow in this case?

I usually use my pvhes gong and now I'm using whole nugs at 2-3 with my stock bent stem

I finally got a solo last week and all my other vapes have been neglected since. My first day with the solo I had to constantly check if I combust ed because I've never had a vape make such nice thick clouds, I can barley take it past 3 without water flirtation but I Def wish I started with a solo.

I got a newer Solo about three months ago. I use the bent stock stem about 95% of the time if dry. Still hits like a joint on level 6. Otherwise I use my aroma therapy gong conversion when using the Pinnacle water tool.

Wow you can handle 6 with no water? At four I get lung busting hits. .. I don't even want to try 6 or 7 without water
Depends on the weed too. With top shelf bud, I may start lower to enjoy the taste longer. But when I hand it to a smoker, I just put it on 7. They understand that better! Tastes more familiar?

While I too agree it depends somewhat on the bud, I also tend to limit it at 4 (occasionally 5) dry, but I find it comforting that the extra capacity is there, on tap, any time it's wanted.

Such flexibility is, I think, a great strength of the Solo.

Where is a good place to pick up a 14mm glass gong for the Solo? :)
Ask Vaped and confused in the JoDa Glassworks thread. He just started sellin' e-nano stems and gongs and is going to work on some for the Solo and EV2. May be quicker then waiting on PV or ordering from Germany.

I asked Vapor Nation about the power adapter issue. Here is a copy and paste of the conversation: (I have to say, I am confused)

"Arizer recently updated the Solo to work with only the standard wall charger."

"If you cannot turn it on to heat up while charging right now, the power adapter will allow you to use the unit, but it will not charge the battery."

"We have not had any issues with batteries failing due to use with the power adapter."
