Sup man,
I got my J Hook from greenbuddhashop. They didn't give me a confirmation email so I was worried they weren't legit but it just showed up on my door a week later.
It's currently broken, but I'll be ordering another one. Feels really great in the hands and has an awesome bend to it. Loved it.
I could also recommend you asking OregonGlassBlower to make you an 18/22 Male J Hook. That way you don't need an adapter. I want a regular female tho so I can pull the adapter to clear, or I can KClip it to the JHook and it's like it's a built in male end anyways.

I'll also recommend a Hammer Bubbler from DHGate. Sorta like a J Hook but has water in it, like a hand held small water pipe. Those are super smooth and I absolutely loved it with my Lotus. That's also broken unfortunately.

After all the reading about this thing being a power house I was a bit trigger shy. I was taking it slow and got perfectly smooth hits. I wasn't able to get the abv much darker than a light brown. Nothing dark brown like I'm use to with the vapman and haze.

I thought my screen was a bit too far back, but I checked the small stem that had a screen pre installed and it was the same spot. The screen was pushed right to the back of the 18mm part.

Before my next session I figured I toss my battery back on the charger. I found out it was almost drained, only one bar solid. Something doesn't seem right

I am going give it another full charge and a second go.

I really hope nothings wrong and if it is that its just the battery, not the vape.
Maybe the haze charger is different for haze batteries...
Honestly I don't know so I'mjust going to experiment :science:

It does appear clear that just one battery isn't going to cut. I definitely am going to scoop up a few more.

You can sip on it all day and kill a battery with out getting the load brown, but if you really hold that button you should be able to get huge clouds and darker abv.

But yeah, it might also be your charge or battery. I have 3 batteries, and I honestly think that's the perfect amount.

Someone posted this method before, but I like to hold the button for 4-5 seconds, start with a very slow inhale to ramp up the temp, and then finally let go of the button mid-way through a huge, fast inhale.

@Philreal187

I've hit my Milaana in every way possible, 2 hit k0, 15 hit sip, long preheat nukes, doesn't matter, my batteries are very forgiving. It doesn't really matter how I do it, the batteries always last over 4-6 bowls.
I would really recommend a nitecore D2 (or D4 if you need the slots), as others have, so you can really check the voltage. I've had a "bar" charger that showed 1 bar but was way more than 1/3 capacity, almost full. I, personally, do not trust those.

If your unit is slightly cooler, draw slower...it'll bring out much more heat. And I mean SLOW. not MFLB slow, but about 20% inhale.

You can get some batteries from illumn. Check page 50 for my pos on batteries.

HE4s, HG2s, Samsung 25Rs all work great.
25Rs seem to be the hottest for me, haven't tried the HG2s yet though but apparently those hold up real nicely. I think HE4s are easiest to work with on hotter units.

The learning curve is very important with this vape....I claim some vaporizer experience and I was very close to sell it before to explore more all the possibilities cause the burning taste I got and the not replicable hits....

But I was able to improve the taste using very small load and with better drawing technique, i understood better how it drains the battery to get the hits I want too.

I still get some issues:
- uneven abv (even with stirs)
- How do you place the provided screen (by the GonG or by the mp, it seems too small to fit the GonG side)?

My screens was pretty clogged and I decided to clean them taking hits with a fresh battery...endless free big hits (even if it's already free!)!!!

Throttle less, and ride the residual heat more. Hit he button just until it hits temperature, then let go and ride it out. Keep draw slow the entire time.
As the unit heats up, the residual heat holds longer and longer. This leads to a really even burn throughout the process.
Try this for 4-8 hits in a 3-10 minute period and see how it goes. The closer together the hits, the better.

New amber stem modeled by Pandora. I just ordered 2 Joda stems, one red/blue, one back, sized between long and short stem. Psyched! Thank you RBT and @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd

I lent my Milaana to a friend who is partially converted from combustion. He really likes it. His S.O. really has not like vaping in the past. It will be interesting to see if the Milaana will make full converts out of them both. I KNOW for sure that their combustion will taste much worse when I take Milaana back.:dog:

Took Millie to another garden party last nite, actually just 4 of us and the dogs. Sigh...Both of the "combusters" reverted to form and managed to char the biomass. The other FCer and I didn't. Oh well everyone had fun and a double boil of two stems and the smell is gone; well, mostly, had to run a few bowls this morning to be sure. ;) Thinking I may have to get a session vape for foolproof celebration; folks keep forgetting to clear the heat after a few pulls, but it's still all good, just a little more work for the vapemeister. As testament to her power we managed to get Millie about as hot as a well used log. I need to work on my "reloading in the dark" technique...

Anyone tried any 18mm Ti Tip for a nectar collector yet?

I figure they'd be too big, but I'm interested in a indestructible stem, other than wood.

@Philreal187 more batteries are needed for SURE!

I can only imagine trying to operate the Mi on one battery.

...doesn't seem very pleasant.

I know it's not recommended, but in a dark room heat your milaana off a fresh battery (with no stem inserted)

And press the button for 10 seconds and see if you can see the coils starting to glow.

If it starts glowing sooner let off the button.
If it DOESN'T glow...the heater may be weaker of have a soft short.

Also to get more cook preheat the unit for 5 seconds without the stem inserted.

place the stem, push the button and start drawing instantly.

I would also suggest getting 4 additional batteries if you plan on making this a daily driver.

Hey Miaana Militia! @RastaBuddhaTao has arrived on Instagram! I have it set up and now we just need some traffic! There will be a Milaana giveaway to be announced. Right now we need your likes and comments. If any of you have Milaana pics that you would lke to contribute, let me know.
How about a link for the lazy? I would think some of my pictures with the custom JodaGlass stems would be good to contribute. What's the best way to add pictures? Do we need to send them to you? I don't use Instagram so its all new to me there.

Not sure why I didn't think of that...Zion is working good today. If any of you post the pics here, I can use them with your permission. However, for now, I think the pics need to be free of MJ in any form.

Happy freakin Friday, FC

We have been working like dogs, for the past 3 months, to fine tune the Milaana and to build up inventory levels to the point where we can ship orders out in 1-2 business days. Believe it or not, we've arrived. Huzzah! Can't thank you guys enough for your patience, support and suggestions on building a better Milaana.

Customer service is set and ready to go. Some of you have spoken or exchanged messages with Sheila. She'll be riding herd over CS. You guys are growing on her and now has an appreciation as to the role FC's membership has played in shaping the Milaana.
We've been working diligently to put in place the fixes recommended on FC. You can see what we've been up to by visiting http://www.rastabuddhatao.net/update

To better meet our customer's needs, we've expanded our product offering on RBT.com to include; colored glass, batteries and chargers. The charger will not only charge your batteries but it can also charge your phone. God bless America ! We'll be adding more product as we move forward. To thank FC members for their contribution, now until the end of the month, enter the coupon code, thanksfc , at checkout, and receive a 10% discount when ordering on RBT.com. If you have any issues, please get a hold of Sheila.

Now that we've dialed in the Milaana's performance, we still have many miles to go before we can call this " project" , a success. Our next challenge is to let the rest of the world know that this portable powerhouse exists. Our online partners are helping with promotion. We're educating and exposing retailers to the Milaana's potential. While we're gaining momentum, we can use more help. We're very appreciative of the business that's come from FC. Some of you have purchased several units, while I believe, bravesst, holds the current record which stands at 4. This support bolsters our belief that this is real and viable but unless we can get the word out to the others, outside of the forum, the future of the Milaana hangs in the balance. If I could only ask one more thing of the FC membership it would be; help us spread the word. Tell 10 people about the Milaana and what your experience has been. If you're in a head shop, ask them if they carry the Milaana. This will help ensure that the Milaana will grow into something we can all be proud to be a part of. Please consider my request.

Thanks again for all of your help and advice. To coin an overused phrase, "it couldn't have happened without you". Moving forward, these words still hold true.

Have a nice weekend.

Charchol

If you guys add screws to the bottom and a washer with screws to hold in the female glass, I would recommend the Milaana without reservation. It works great, but due to the build quality issues, I hesitate to recommend it to others.

Totally understand and respect your perspective. Given the poor track record with the early units I wouldn't recommend it either. But, unlike other company's who are enslaved by their high volume over seas manufacturing RBT has made nearly all of the improvements suggest here by FC.

http://www.rastabuddhatao.net/update

We realize that the medical grade epoxy is an issue for some however we believe it to be more than safe as it is rated for twice the 150 F temperatures it sees in that area during extreme operating conditions.

We do have evaluated some mechanical solutions but to cost and complexity it adds as well as the investment in tooling is not supported by estimated market gains. If the Milaana grows in volume the decision will be revisited.

Rest assured when RBT does design again we will work hard to design out use of any medical grade epoxy but for now we hope that our design improvements and majority opinion will satisfy the masses.

Please see our FAQ for some design details and contact us through our CS for any additional ?s

^^This right here^^

Between the learning curve, glue and overall finish quality I can't recommend this vape to anyone who isn't already and experienced vaper. At which point they are likely smart/familiar enough to hop on here and research/choose their own device themselves.

Rest assured when RBT does design again we will work hard to design out use of any medical grade epoxy

I sure hope so, because your sale of anything beyond my current orders hinges upon that 100%.

Price, don't care.

How much ppl here like it, don't care.

How portable, DGAF.

Super potent/efficient, not as important as glue!

Not a single thing could trump that decision for me.

End of discussion.

Almost there...
Been absent from the thread for a while but trying to keep up with all the awesome posts!!!
Decided to put my Milaana through the paint shop! I decided what the hell since she kicks my ass with ease, every time! She is a keeper and maybe even a Zion, when they are available through PlanetVape!

Okay, so a few more sheets of sandpaper passed over the Mi'licious body to get her silky smooth! (Mi'Licious the name is available to anyone that wants it!!)LOL!!
Then i mixed up a batch of Peacock Brilliant Blue Aniline dye and set to work!
Numerous coats later she is looking mighty fine!
Now for a protective coat...
First i went the Tung Oil route... disaster as it was not a durable enough finish for daily handling.\
Stripped that off and re-applied the dye...
Let her dry for a few days... This was hard because i could not use her for almost two weeks...

Next protective coat was Spar urethane Clear Gloss!
Super shiny and smooth!
Still need to wet sand her and polish her up nicely but for now i am just happy to have her back!

Battery use is improving and i am getting quite a few stems out of one battery!
Will be getting a few more batteries and a decent charger once our postal guys figure their crap out!

Still working on my WT technique but love it dry, so not too concerned!

This one is for Instagram if you want it @DieHard

EDIT TO SHARE MY TECHNIQUE:

Long stem with a nug loosely in place, ensure good air gaps!
New battery, 5 count, pause for 2, on for 3...
Awesome flavor and fair clouds, i am all about flavor in the beginning!!
Pop out now still green but super crispy nug and crumble in your hand, siphon up again.
Same counts again and huge clouds!! Good taste but now i am after the medicating effects.
These come on strong and fast and knock pain away for a good long time!
All done in about a minute! LOL!!

Fantastic, man! That's the way to go... Even thinking about a branding.

How long did it take to dry and apply the next coating?

Respect!:)

Thanks for the help @ZC @WakeAndVape & @AJS

I only had 3 sessions and have been getting better results. Though I'm using a wooden stem from ed that fits both sizes of ddaves eq basket screens. This puts the herb closer to the heater. The abv was the right kind of dark and it was a tasty ride to get it there!

I really like this vape so far it is growing on me more and more!

I plan to get a set of 2 more batteries and the recommended 4 port digital charger.
When the zion arrives I have 4 more batteries so I don't think I need more than seven total... I hope..:mental:

@lazylathe Outstanding job that looks perfect!! I can't wait to see more of this custom milaana art!!

The return of @RastaBuddhaTao was like Gandalf in the shire a visit from an old familiar friend!
