Is it possible to hook up your own digital temp thermometer should the stock one crap out on you? Replacing it with something of your choice?

Just so Dab HAppy!

Yes. The thermometer sensor just has too be held tight to the heating tube about 1-2mm below the heating block. It is held in place with a silicone tube so nothing special about it or the way it is attached.

Almost there...

It's not quite so easy though...
I tried just for fun and had readings that were way off.
I used a glass tipped probe and it read about 15 degrees C lower than the original temp probe.
So be careful as your results will vary but yes it is possible!
I was thinking of buying a cheap scientific temp probe to see what was really happening!

It was probably the glass-tipped probe causing the variance. I did some testing with this cheap thermocouple and my temp readings were extremely close to the readings on the unit. :2c:

That is the exact one I was looking at as well! Just the wires extending to the hand held are making me wonder if it will be a good idea or not.
It's perfect the way it is, all compact and neat.

Whatever it is, even at upper temps I was getting oil dripping through the tube...not alot, but enough to be annoying. And this is with using a bunch of flowers for the base. Great hits though! Just wonder if dabs need more heat...

My Mind Is Free
Guys, gals, just stopping by to report that the hype is f'ing real. When Stu was saying this vape downright scares him... wow, I get it now. I literally hesitate every time I go for the supreme not because it takes a while to heat up but because I am just absolutely destroyed after a couple stems... And it takes so much energy to heat the block up, I feel guilty unless I do at least a couple stems in a session, so it's the supreme's fault, not my overindulgence! :p

Anyways. If anyone is on the fence, get over it before you regret it.

edit - make that one stem with some concentrate in the middle. I can't even see straight, man. Good suggestion.

I just realized I never stop at the click. Never have and probably never will.

I always load the Supreme with 4 or 5 chunks of flower. I heat twice per load to my max temp of 170-175c and let it creep up to 185-190c. I will get 5 or 6 hits each heating by the time it is down to 140c and then the vapor is too wispy for me. Sometimes I stay with one strain fornthe load, sometimes each chunk is a different strain. All depends on how wild my wild hair is...

For shatter or wax or distillate or rosin I always follow this same method making sure I leave about 3/16" empty at the back of the tube. I stand the tube up vertically on a table and I melt my concentrate off the dab tool onto the top of the flower. I used to put some flower on top to make a sandwich but now I dont since I never turn it upside down anyway. I also go about 10-15c higher in temp and I reheat 3 times.

Just my more recent method but this thing works so many ways its hard not to switch it up everynow and then. Like the other night, I just randomly decided to try a random glass mouthpiece I had laying around on the Supreme and hit it dry. I have hit the Supreme out of my j-hook for about a dozen sessions total maybe so I am not used to dry. It was completely satisfying of course!

I vaporize hash oil/melts/rosin in the Supreme V3 the exact same way. I used to make a sandwich but don't bother now with the V3. I usually start off with J-hook and finish with a bong :ko:

--When using concentrates, do you leave the stem in while heating it up?
I've been bringing it up to 375F/190C without the stem. Then I load the stem and heat it another 5-10 seconds during the temperature drop, while keeping it vertical to melt down evenly.

Rosin is probably my favorite concentrate to vape in the Supreme V3. Especially the shattery-kind I can pick up and load easily.

@biohacker
I've been using concentrates with the stock screen and still am not having dripping issues with large loads. I've start with 2-3 large chunks that fill the entire circumference of the stem each. Also starting with a high temperature and heating it up w/ the stem inserted seems to prevent dripping.

Also I think rosin tends to be more viscous when melted and BHO can turn pretty watery.

Just received my secondhand unit today from a fellow FC member. One thing I quickly noticed is a loose component in the heat exchanger/aluminum block. Is this normal? If you shake it, it rattles? I can touch it with my finger and its move it from side to side just a bit. I can grab a photo if you guys need me to take one.

Its the section of the aluminum block where air appears to enter.

Mine is loose as well, from day one and no issues at all!

ok, this thing is ridiculous. total brute force approach to vaping. whoever said this was like dabbing flowers was totally right. only real criticism is that my wife is going to laugh at me if/when she walks in and sees me sitting here with a torch in each hand heating up this crazy looking thing.

expectations have been surpassed. this thing is going to have to be reserved for night time usage... cheers to you good people
