Customized vape setups

Doesn't it get all sticky? I've had an older friend tell me he used to fill up bongs with red wine

I use plain tap water, Brita if I'm over-zealous.

Takes a whole breath to get the air out and to get it filled up and ready to deliver some serious hits, but once i do it's just pure bliss. I usually have more ice in it, but forgot to refill teh trays the night b4 i took this lol. I usually load up a whole tray of cubes, sometimes without water even.

Only problems i've ran into on this setup is that when i'm done hitting it and i pull my mouth away, air rushes up the hose for some reason and blows some of the bowls contents into the heater cover and onto the heating element. I'm definitely not blowin into it. This happens sometimes, not all the time. Usually if I slow my hit down a lot at the end and slowly sorta peal my mouth away from it, it doesnt do it. I usually pull one of the ends of the hose out right before i stop hitting it to avoid the problem altogether, but often a bit of vapor will escape while i'm dickin around doin that. I've also started packing smaller bowls (like 1/4-1/8 capacity) and packing them in tighter to help avoid any getting blown out.

That's probably from the water getting pulled back up into the downstem. Nice setup BTW.

Sounds like you're not hitting it true bong style.

You inhale till your lungs are nearly full, then pull out the adaptor (I pull off the whip first so I don't lose vapor in the tubing) and pull HARD, clear that bong. Might be a bit hard with a bong that large though.

I am definately vaked right now my friends! I'm looking at this picture and imagining a Da Buddha setup with it. Check it out!

Also, I did not post that... but may construct one myself. haha. Let me know what you guys think I guess...
Peace to all

oh sorry then... my intention was not to persuade you to change forums. I guess I'll just explain it. If you know what a vortex gravity bong is, its a very clean, homemade one of those with an 8 arm tree diffuser that goes to the bottom of the top chamber. If I make one, I would like to make it an inline diffuser with a plug at the top for a mouthpiece. I bet that would get you 0 to 60 in a pump of the heart!

Nice pickup Snowta, I love the color scheme. I really need to get one of those fixed screen BM's. My version 1 BM bowl works awesome and the screen stays in place most of the time, but occasionally it will flip spilllng herb.

:peace:

I hear ya man. I had to have a screen in the bottom of the joint on my old one and finaly got sick of it. This design really makes it super easy to stir and gives you CRAZY airflow. Nosmokes has 4 pushes which I don't know if it's going to make much if any difference. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get a Ti screen for it too once I figure out the right size

Nice 'snowta! I bet you're stoked... Diffy to replace the broken one until you get an SGW showerhead? I've been toying around with the idea of getting a VHW, I think I'm gonna bite the bullet soon. My tubes just don't see any action. We'll see how the SSV goes..

This is my biggest qualm with hitting my Extreme thru the bong...feel like I need to keep pulling and pulling before I see vapor.

I've got an H20 adaptor and a GonG 250ml Ehle on the way to try a cleaner, nicer set-up; hope I didn't order all this glass just to find its still hard to pull vapor thru

did you get a diffused downstem with that? you might find it will be a much easier draw if you throw in a diffuser. Gets rid of the hard draws that chugging can produce.

get a 14 to 18 mm adapter for use as a bowl then use the extreme as a heat wand and youll get huge hits with minimal pull. a well diffused set up is never a bad thing either, to do this on the fee you can cut off a piece of whip tubing into which youll cut a bunch of slits. then insert the tube into your downstem and itll hit much better, but look cheap

Devo: I did order an Ehle diffuser with it. I wanted a SGW custom diffy but didn't realize it was the wrong size, I'm gonna inquire if he can do a custom 14mm showerhead like the one on his Etsy page. Either way this is my first GonG piece to call my own and will be used solely for vapor (if it works well enough); my fingers are crossed that it'll be worth the (small) investment.

Electrician: I've seen your photos using the Extreme as a heat wand and I'm pretty sure I don't wanna try this. That said, I'm envious of the milk you have; I'm just very conscious of the heating element's wobble and the fairly common instance of it breaking, I don't want to contribute to this.

If I really get the bug I'll have to invest in a proper heat-wand.

^^ that wasn't a SGW showerhead it was made by soulshine family glass. SGW doesn't have an etsy page. It would be cool if he did

yeah azn the diff is to replace my broken one. I wanted to see if he could do rows of holes on half like a gridline but he only put two holes in from what I can see which kinda blows but it'll be nice to get some color in there. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna hit up Preston for an a/c set and diffy. Unless I can find a quality bubbler other places. I want something with lower air volume to play with.

That's right, Soulshine, sorry I've been looking at too much stuff all at once! Too bad its just observation so far :uhoh:

soulshine will make that diffy in any size you want, they are all made to order.
what do you guys think of this bubbler
il_430xN.55326476.jpg

i was going to have him skip the dome perk and have him put a tube with ice pinches on it. i liked the big base thought it would be harder to knock over.:brow:

Yeah, that's the way i've always done it. But, as you said, with a bong this big i've found the best way to hit it is to just fill it and let it stay full. I clear it when i'm getting towards the end of a thin hit and it looks like it might need stirred, but i usually clear it by removing the bowl, since i'm going to be stirring it anyways, and so i can clear the hose out.

I've adapted a bit of a hybrid tho. I've closed up the carb hole on teh side to make it easier to hit w/o having to worry about keeping that plugged, and i pull the adapter after every hit but only inhale for a split second after. this leaves the chamber largely full and ready to go on teh next hit, but lets me prevent the air from flowing up the hose after i stop hitting.

i've also started filling the upper chamber with 1-1.5 trays worth of ice cubes, which takes up some of the large volume and of course cools things down even further. I think i'm the only person in the north east states with a bunch of full ice trays in their freezer this time of year lol. anyways, i think i'm going to invest in a more compact piece of glass to hook up for regular use.

and nice setups all around. i'd really like to get a nice diffuser as well.

Finally I'm percolating :D

Can't wait to hit this (damn work ), but I got a HVY 9mm with an 8 arm tree perc and 6 slit diffy downstem.

That was a horrible wait but I'm glad it arrived in one piece to Australia :D

I never realised how much of a fuckaround water levels are in perc bongs or maybe I'm just a noob :brow:

I've gotta stop looking at glass I can't afford...

Just saw this on TC, looks crazy.

Also I just got confirmation that Soulsunshine can't do the showerhead diffy in 14 :(
I'll be sticking with the Ehle one when it comes but any other suggestions for 'custom' diffused-downstems?

Nice chubba! Let us know how it rips!

Hereatlast-that looks like a fixed stem to triple disc? Looks REALLY chuggy, look at the size of that downstem!
