Im still interested in a member review on this one. The mighty/cfx video showing conduction properties looked so similar Im not ready to count this one out just yet.

Almost there...
To plays devil's advocate for a while...
We all know what semantics means, right?
Here is a Wiki link for those who do not:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semantics

So this is what i take and it is based on semantics:

"As far as the airflow system goes we stated it is a convection based system, and when inhaling acts on convection to produce vapor, drawing air in from the bottom, up the isolated air stream to vape the weed when inhaling."

Right, so far he is pretty spot on! Explained convective heating in a nutshell and that we have an isolated air path, all very good stuff!
Then we move to here:

"I stated earlier that I thought it is about 80% Convection due to the heat up of the bottom layer of the bowl, especially the screen."

So now we know that the BOWL is heated... I think almost Solo like but stronger.
This would be due to the amount of air being drawn through the fancy isolated air path and up to the bowl. This air needs to be super heated quickly in order to not over power the heater.

So in theory it is not incorrect but the way it is advertised is, imo!
Hope this makes some sense!

I dont feel like Ive been ripped off at all. Which comparisons make you feel like you were ripped off? My only comparison is to my phantom vape and while I liked that vape it was like a flip phone while the mighty is an iphone.

Heating properties aside how is the quality of the vapor? How warm does the unit get. Are the buttoms and display responsive? Does the unit feel good in your hands?

@Boundless Vape Technology you've got a tough crowd here.

It feels great stands better the only gripe I have with mighty is their blatant convection lie. Plus that sticker that is able to be scratched on the mighty yells "I'm price marked at 400%"

I'm willing to put down the pitchfork if Boundless can prove their vape is made by them and with quality materials. It shouldn't be too hard to prove.
Yup, until then I'll keep scaring people off the trail because there have been far too many thousands of dollars misspent on misadvertised products in this industry

Hi Guys,

Just want to confirm that despite the speculation of this being another OEM product, I can assure you that this is not the case with the CFX or the CF. As far as the materials are concerned, Our internals are all safe quality food and medical grade materials. Any specific questions you may have about the materials involved in the CFX and CF vapes, please fill free to ask. We will get back to you as soon as we can.

Thanks again for your continued support.

How will you go about demonstrating what the materials are?

only gripe I have with mighty is their blatant convection lie.

But it's not a lie...yes the bowl heats up adding conduction (which means no stirring and even extraction), but the flir pics posted in the crafty thread show that the air is heated (convection) before it reaches the bowl, so yes they are not full convection, that would be a lie, and I wouldn't like to say what the mix is but you can't argue with the performance and effect, regardless of how much of each is going on.

For me the whole conduction vs convection thing is a none issue anyways as it depends on the vape, there are good conduction vapes and bad, the same with convection.

Generally I do prefer on-demand convection as normally the taste (for me) is better, and unless in sitting reading I don't normally session vape, having said that the Vapman is one of my favourite vapes and that is conduction.

:2c: :peace:

Anyway I'm going off topic so....

This 30min charge time thing, seems like a nice feature but also a good way to kill off the battery, not saying I haven't charged at this sort of rate before but it was always with removables (that were capable of handling it) I wonder if they have tested to see what effect a fast charge will have on the unit over time.

I'm sure that if the cfx is safe to use and the company is open and honest it could do well, it will tick lots of boxes for some people regardless of conduction/convection if it produces nice tasty vapour.

My thing is.. its a lot cheaper than other top tier VAPES. But they claim it heats up faster, has longer battery life, and can give monster clouds. Im just not seeing how this is all realistic. Usually when it sounds too good to be true... it is. Im very intrigued but also extremely skeptical.

This is what happens when the vaporizer market is totally not consumer friendly. It's like anything that is below $200 we automatically assume it's garbage. vaporizers aren't expensive they do not take much to make. So when we see a cheap vape we automatically think it's garbage. But it's not necesarrily true

Not true at all. Vapes aren't cheap to make. At least quality ones.

Why does everyone compare this to the mighty or crafty? in case of heating system, the GRASSHOPPER should be the sibbling ;-)
i dont have a GH, so i can't say anything about the session timer or on off timer..

soooo competition
SHOUT OUT TO Grasshopper users.. show us your abv WITHOUT a draw..
SHOUT OUT TO CF CFX users.. show us your abv WITHOUT a draw..

for full 6 min CFX session..

results please on FC

GH users have done this with good results... If used properly it is on demand pure convection, session style the body and mouthpiece might get too hot with back to back hits, not the way it should be used according to most owners

Its 2016, the most companies in the vape industry calls up for the version 2 of their own vaporizer..
Everybody learnt a lot about, which materials should be used, heating system, batteries, SERVICE and many other things.. The customer know what they want, a reliable, durable and unit with SAFE materials and heating system for more efficiency and vapor yield. Declared Convection is a main part why the customers buy the boundless units, but there isn't any information about it. The only information is on reddit with a CFX conduction unit.

One MAIN concern about boundless peaks in this issue: how could a startup do such a bad start?
If i do a great product, i would tell everything about it on my WEBSITE, if you share all over the socialmedia pictures of these devices but don't give a hint about this real function of their patented heating system, this is not a good business behavior.

Live Stream - OMG - if i do a live stream to show my customers the product. I would have a agenda or timeline and i would point especially at these brand new heating system and how i make the difference. i would do a REAL product presentation, just how the youtubers do.

Look at Vaporfection, grasshopper labs or some other brands who have great websites with explanation of their units. You guys from boundless only got Instagram promo, youtube promo, facebook and a shop website, which is down actually for maintenance. never seen any customer commentary under your media. blocked?

REALLY? please come back and tell everything about your materials and your heater!
Do a 3D explosion graphic or something like that. Be true to the customer and show us your magical device!

Yeah i cant see how its possible to bash something that not been put through the paces of the FC members and public. I can see your points elastic but we really need to see and test this thing before we start the bash.

If your all really interested and i am allowed to post the pics of internals i will do so, along with my thoughts on its performance once i get it.

Got the unit? Internal pic yet?

Yes i got the CFX this morning! Elastic you called it 100% this is a conduction ONLY vape

I have not used it yet, i just got it and stripped it down. The oven walls are the heat source and the air just passes up through the bottom of the oven, i cant see the heat exchanger which is pictured in the animation. If i breakdown the oven ill brick the device so i cant show you anymore..

Taking the resistance of my test leads out, the heater coil resistance is around 0.7ohms the output voltage (to the heater) from the 3/4 charged batteries was 7.45v (obviously dropping all the time while on) so this equates to about a power house of around 80 Watts no wonder it heats fast!!!

The oven is the heater and air flow only comes from the bottom of the oven, there is an air gap to the external wall of the oven which looks to be stainless steel this is then wrapped in insulation material ( Alumina Fibres ) and then wrapped in kapton tape.

So NO convection at all!!! Elastic well done for calling it first hand!!!

Edit further thoughts:

I didn't take a photo of how the top terminates but it has a silicone separating ring to keep the ceramic inner chamber away from the outer insulating wall, this will help with shocks if dropped etc (the heater is ceramic and fragile) it is well built great batteries and its a solid device.

Ive not tried it with flowers yet but i dropped a bit of oil on the cotton wax insert and apart from the annoying draw resistance (used to the crafty now) it hit very well.

@Vambo1980 great job! Thank you for getting this clear..

The chamber is kind of a tube in a tube or isn't it?

can't see any vibration modul. does it vibrate?

Yes, it vibrates, The module is in the front part from what i can see its the blue and red wires coming off the board.

Yes its a tube within a tube, this air gap is not connected to the air flow from the bottom of the device. To test this when it was dissembled (as it was in the first pic) i blew through the bottom air inlet tube and just sealed the inner tube with my little finger and this proved the air path just goes straight up the center of the oven.

The outer tube is just for isolation the heat from the 80W ceramic chamber, am i right?

Correct Elastic.
If anything this makes a great oil wax device... the power of the heater is up there and even more powerful than most desktops!!

The charging through USB, i monitored its current usage and it pulls a full 2A from USB 5V although it does fluctuate down to 1A near end of charge.
