FYI ... these are NOT Arizer OEM batteries ... and the seller clearly states this up front.

Personally, after giving it much thought and reading up on the debate here between 'aftermarket' and OEM batteries, I choose to go the OEM route.

Just wanted to give a 'heads up' in regards to this :-)

I'd missed that part, which means it's not CentiZen? He, after much research, bought the exact battery directly and offers that for sale. Therefore we can assume CZ didn't build the aftermarket battery packs for Solo so I'd steer way clear of them as well. There are lots of ways not to build a good pack, from poor component selection to dangerous construction (like soldering to the individual cells). Here's the insides of one I built a while back:

I bought the parts (cells with tabs welded on, the protection PCB between them, the over temperature safety (white block above the PCB) and the heat shrink jacket that covered them) from All Battery IIRC. It's fine to solder to the tabs that come welded to the batteries (they are the same sort used by Arizer, designed to build packs for lap tops) but not to solder directly to the units. Even experts damage cells this way and have failures down the road. Not a good area to be in if you don't know exactly what's up. I'd stick to the factory units or CentiZen's proven replacements.

Never even thought of it, truly scary! Got me to stop mid breath and feel the hair on the back of my neck stand up. "Danger, Will Robinson" for sure. There's solvents (you smell them sometimes?) inside a sealed can, basically a bomb. More over, a (small) bomb) in a fire.......

When I was in High School, the 'class clown' decided to see what happened when you put a can of Diesel Starting Fluid (basically Ethers and other really flammable 'junk' left over at the refineries, very easy to 'light off'......much more so that even Gasoline). The can was basically empty so Stacey figured 'no big deal'. He built a smallish fire (he claimed) behind the fence where yard trash was normally burned and threw it in. As he waited he thought better of it and ducked behind the fence at just the right time....... It blew burning stuff all over, setting the fence, his own yard and the neighbors on the other side afire. Some landed in a big pine tree and that joined the fun. It was a 'two alarm' fire (the original responders called for emergency backup when they saw what they were up against). Made a great story in the papers, Stacy got to sit out the rest of the year in the Continuation School. I recommend against such experiments.

Just to clear up any confusion, the site I linked to is in South Carolina. They state their air batteries are not OEM. They also have HC Solo Batteries. The Canadian site, vapepower.ca, have guaranteed OEM air batteries and also have HC Solo Batteries but are out of stock of both. They are definitely in canada.

Got my glass piece from Grasscity yesterday.

Not sure how much I like it yet. I hit the AA with a bong on Saturday and was able to get it all milky. But this one of mine isn't getting the vapor as think :/ Maybe I'm sucking too hard or something.

Anyway, I vape a lot and my throat/tongue get all cooked, so this should help out with that at the very least.

Can you post a pic of your new piece? It should milk pretty easily if you have decent weed & put the Air on red. I sometimes use a small precooler & whip with my Air over a bubbler & I can milk the bub every single time but it looks like I barely have any vapour in the precooler. Either way I exhale clouds so if it is a small bub it may not look overly milky?

With the Air standing upright the lead point downwards slightly. Did you buy from a reputable vendor?

AA's are performing perfectly. I simply dont enjoy any vape experience neary as much as pastic stock tip, dome screen, in my AA. I keep trying other stuff, ALWAYS a bit of a let down. I envy you guys. :rant:

I to am addicted to my Air, it may be the only vape I have ever owned (tried a few lower quality ones) and I still love it just as much as day 1. Been nearly a year now and it really has revolutionized my life in terms of getting high, and my health.

Congrats on the job, from the posts of yours I have read I'm sure you will love it. :)

I bought it from an authorized website (emailed Arizer to confirmed). The difference is not very obvious unless you look at it closely. Everything is working fine, and seems like another member notices the same thing so I guess it's no big deal. I was scare I might have received a defective unit.

Yes, it's common based on the Airs I've seen. It has to do with how well the PCB lines up with the hole? The two I'm looking at right now have the jack off center, one more than the other. It's just a connector, as long as the plug fits well not to worry.

Enjoy it, that's what it's made for, that's why you bought it.......not to worry about cosmetic issues?

Yea, it might just be because it's pretty small and the one I hit on Sat was taller.

The only batteries recommended for the Air are the OEM batteries. Any others will supposedly void your warranty and apparently might damage the device.

If you are in the US, buy batteries from Canada.The CAD is crashing and the exchange rate is crazy.

Edit: I see you are in the UK, even better exchange rate if you can get a good deal on the shipping.

I second the 'stick to the OEM part' advice, as do many others. Our very own CentiZen did a lot of research on this very topic and reports while all batteries are not alike, the OEM is probably the best choice of any (Arizer did a good engineering job.....go figure). Some are worse than others in the 'also rans'. He goes as far as to offer the genuine units (from the maker) at discount prices, he's of course out of stock right now but you might send him a PM and see what the story is. IIRC he's in Canada too, a big plus at the current time:

IMO for a few dollars this is a bad place to try to 'save a buck' and cut a corner or two. Go for the top shelf and don't look back. I've got piles of high performance 18650s around here, but bought spare factory batteries (from Randy at PIU) for my Airs.
