My man, that is a spectacular set you have there the vapman itself is beautiful, I am just happy to have been a part of it! Actually it's neither, I wanna say it's maybe white teak burl but can't be certain maybe @Snappo could elaborate? No doubt it's an amazing species and he sent it my way via your request bro. Really glad you like my work, hope you enjoy em for a long time to come!
The custom Ed's stem & wong for the Vapman look like Big Leaf Maple Burl.

One of the three feet have come disconnected at the bowl end. Havnt tried since not worried about it cooling the load down as I assume it shouldn't matter if the bowl is still hot? More worried about the exposed hole conbusting the load. Might have to wait for a special and grab another!

Bummer, however if you check post #5181 from @vapman on the previous page he mentioned he had some for half price (with minor defects) which sounds like a special to me....maybe send him a pm.

Was able to loosen the screw holding the leg and move it a touch. Got it basically back in place, moves out sometimes but with the MP on its easily moved into place. Havnt noticed it affecting performance. Getting two more vapman just in case! Have a feeling this will be the daily driver for a while.

IMHO, you heaten your VM too much and too long, as I saw it in your videos.

Maybee try once to heat up in short phases of a few seconds between, f.i. like in the videos of @WakeAndVape. He's got a real good technic, which is a lot less stressfull to the VM and produce nevertheless big fat clouds without destroying your device so quickly. ;-)

And you safe also the life of your torch, by the way. ;-)

Also can help, to change the VM between consecutively short vape-rounds. That helps to cool down the device before the next use.

Yes am guilty of extreme heating, although I think all these problems stem from it being sat on. As its cracked, folded inwards slightly and the bowl and some of the legs were physically bent . As far as heat goes, I use a lot less now that I do long drawn out bowls, however I was impressed at just how much abuse with a torch this thing can cop. Aside of actual physical destruction (sitting on) I think I'd be lucky to kill one with a torch.
Even after going through its ordeal, for which it has come out looking oval, it still works a charm.

Although I'm not here to tell the creators how to use it I will say it held up perfectly fine until I noticed it was bent. I might keep one of the new ones out to torture test with the torch, was thinking about getting a lotus until word of caps getting killed. Keen to see how much abuse one can cop with the flame, obviously this will mean I'll have to make sure it stays in the egg and stays in shape!

It can take a beating. Mine is not too bad but it's notably broken in from my first few days of comical misuse. With the Station it's a breeze now, and even with the torch I got it down more or less. That first few days though I tortured the poor guy! Scratches and burns and stains. Yet the performance just gets better and better. The cosmetic damage only adds character. Hell I think as it works better than ever and the flavor is truly as fresh and perfect as out of the box.

If you Keep the new ones in their eggs when your not holding 'em and using them they ought to last darn near a lifetime I would think.

If Craftsman tools made and sold a vape it would be the Vapman.

Yes I thought this one spent a lot of time in the egg, although it has obviously been busted up at some stage. Christmas, nye birthday all just been and gone so I'll excuse it. Little mishaped and wriggly plus I have to be carful with moister from the crack, but a part from that it's still going strong. I don't know what pressure it endured to crack and bend but I'm sure it would have broken many electric/glass portables.

Order paid this AM bought the vapman to supplement the solo in conduction alley while I await my nano.

I haven't even seen a VM in real life, but after a few brief emails with René @vapman I see why VM has stayed in business all these years and still has the cult following it has. Top notch customer service and response time from the other side of the world!

I'm trying to stretch my stash a bit, been heavily enjoying the Vapman tonight!

It gets it's fair share of love, but not enough! I've been using it a lot more recently though :)

Its also a very intimate device for me, I never share! The one time I did take it out, my friend took his bic to the bottom:doh: but the little bit of a burn adds some flair!

But it is perfect for me, because I can chill on it for a while, and it also uses such little herb! Best of both worlds in terms of conservation :) Gonna load one up right now before bed !

Has anyone ever tried using their log-vape or the like to heat up their Vapman like the Station does?
I think it is too small an area to work proper, though it could with the right build. I mean the station itself is sort of like a high tech log in a way, I didn't put that together until now. I wouldn't turn it upside down to put in a stem but I suppose the science is similar.

After more than one month wait due to the unbelievably crappy italian post service yesterday I finally received my Station. The Vapman was already my daily driver but now I can appreciate it even more, plus I understand only now that I was using too much heat from my torch and charred weed way too often. Paired with the Station it always gives me crazy efficiency and top notch flavorful vapor, also very quick heating time and great building quality. René you really made something remarkable with this one. A quick question to anyone who uses Vapman+Station with a bubbler: wich setting and how many heating cycles are you using? Do you connect it with a hose and draw while it's sitting on the heater or do you take it off the station and connect it wood on glass?

I'm very happy to hear the station is working for people again.

It was heartbreaking to send my original back for the recall, but I hope to be able to get a new one in the future, as it fills a niche medical need for me in a way that nothing ever had before or since.

But my Vapman is a constant travelling companion.

"No way, Charlie" is my initial take. Interesting idea but way shy of the needed energy. My log vape (PD) is 8 Watts, not the many times more needed by VM. And, since there'd be no direct conduction going on heat transfer (in calories per minute) would be very slow, the VM would be loosing heat the whole time, you'd be lucky to get past warm.

For instance, in days past we used to dry our herb by putting it in a tin on top of the PDs. With much more surface area to be heated by the hot convection air than VM would offer it never got too warm to touch, let alone close to vaping.

To work as a heating station it has to provide lots of power (Watts) and make solid thermal contact (the fitted 'overheated' post) or you're back to lots of fire. And to transfer heat (quickly) but definition you need a source much hotter than the target, in a stem vape that doesn't happen since the hot part is basically at vaping temperatures.

I thought about making something for the Enano because of more access to the heat. Like a long s/s tube with a cone to cradle the VM.might get good heat transfer? But then I thought just save for the awesome piece of equipment that Rene invented.

VMS+VM= total control
Not gonna get that with a DIY

Good call, IMO. There's no doubt a LOT of ways to make one that doesn't work, one sure way to get one that does.

There's a story of Edison, hard at work on the electric light bulb, that responded to being accused at failing to make it work, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work". Sharp fellow, he 'invented the business of inventing' some say. But he had rules for success that IMO are still in full force and worth considering (or rather, 'ignoring at your peril'):

Exactly. It's like a Log Vape, with a detachable mouthpiece. :D
