Just bought a pack of 10 domed screen from ebay for £4.49 :)

I use standard screens normally, so will be interesting to see what difference they make.

This place is hazardous to one's bank account, not only have I fucked combustion, but it seems my wallet has had a right seeing to as well since I met you lot!

been a while since i posted here. my solo's stopped working, then my power adaptor died.

anyhow, after unsuccessful calls to frys and other stores in my area, 40 minutes of google ebay and amazon, i cant seem to find the batteries that go inside the solo online anywhere. I was wondering if someone could direct me to a section of this giant thread where its discussed, or a link to place where i could buy them would be greatly appreciated.

So if those two don't suit you, you might contact our own CentiZen who custom makes replacement packs with higher capacity batteries. I've never tried one personally, but he seems to have lots of happy campers for customers.

Order from PlanetVape and you'll get a good exchange rate! Right now it's in our favor. I placed an order last Saturday and it came in a good deal cheaper with the Canadian exchange rate. Happy to find that out because I hear you about the wallet 1DMF. Last Saturday I spent almost $180 on my Solo! Really looking forward to my water tools from DHgate and PVGonG's! Which brings me to tonights bake session ramblings...

...I don't want to start a whole new thread as I'm sure it has been talked about a bunch, probably in this thread, but maybe the recent posters like Ataxian, OF, Nugg, Mom among others can just respond in a few posts. You all have helped so much. Anyway, I'm obviously not super experienced with vapes but getting there thanks to your help. My latest vape journey with Solo has been eyeopening. So much better in daily use than my Pax was. The VaporGenie was an eyeopener as well in a different way- which makes me know I want a Lotus or Vapman for my water tools (undecided), but that's not my rambling for tonight. I'm wondering if I actually need a desktop- can a Solo replace a desktop? I always saw a desktop as something I wanted, but I don't really know why because I'm not as experienced as you guys with this stuff. I just can't believe I waited so long to go to something other than a Pax, I see that there is no situation at home where I'd use the Pax over the Solo. It's more efficient, cleaner, extracts better... I tried the inverted/domed Ebay screens. Flavor was awesome for longer. Perfect ABV extraction. The Solo is such a revelation to me- what am I missing in a desktop- if anything?

Sorry such a long post... one stem with Solo with a tiny amount of herb and a 12 minute full cycle... I'm vaped! This device is so efficient I'm on the same nugget of bud I ground up in the grinder on Monday... That is 1/3rd less than I'd usually consume.

Beats me, I'm not you......but if you were me you wouldn't need a desktop. OK nobody "needs" a desktop.....but I sure don't use one any more. For a long time portables have carried the load for me and in a MMJ sense any vape will do? Well any good vape.

I'm a sipper. Recreational guys into cloud chasing have other goals.

Not to worry about getting 'stuck on Pax'. You can't be blamed for not knowing what you don't know and besides you were younger then, right? You're just lucky Pax didn't sour you on the vape idea and send you back to blazing.......

Enjoy the Solo for a while, then see how you feel about it all?

As much as I love my Solo, I still need my DBV for nightly sedation.

I can get loads of tasty vapor out of the Solo, but the DBV remains champion for my powerhouse.

If I happen to of done my DBV Sesh a little too early , I'll pack a Solo stem with herb and Charas and take as many hits as I can in a 12 minute cycle, like playing a game to beat the clock as I'm lying in bed

Does the trick for sure.

I like the Solo for the day and a heavy hitting Convection Vape for Sleep time.

I have only been Vaping for 6ish months though.

Oh I was blazing for sure, joints. Accidentally broke my good glass pipe and did not replace it because of how nasty they always were. Smoked joints and my VaporGenie most of last year. Still used my Pax plenty and still will in certain situations, but for home use no way I'll use it over the Solo. I'm not a cloud chaser but I am a medium/heavy recreational guy. a big joint after work most every day, sometimes 2 on weekends. I think my herb guy is going to be disappointed in me...

Hashtag, I considered the DBV. Maybe still will. Who knows where my vape journey will take me.

As the Grateful Dead pointed out long ago, "lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it's been'. You only get to play the cards dealt and there's no Mulligans.

It's also worth remembering that the journey us almost always more important than the goal. A journey made better with a Solo than without IMO.

Anyone use an Ed's TNT WonG in a water tool? I like the Ed's stem so much I think I'd like to use it with my D020D and the FC-UFO when they arrive. I'll get a 18mm male to 14mm female to use with it. One thing I like about the stem is even though it does restrict a bit more draw than the stock stem, it won't ever fall out. I vape with some old timers and I'm thinking the wood on glass will be less delicate for them with the bonus that it stays tighter in the device. Do they fit the same as the stems? Does it seal was well on glass as the GonG? I already have PVHEGonG coming in 18mm for the setup, but if the Ed's WonG works well I might like the function.

I guess all this might be a non-issue if the PVHEGonG fits tight. The replacement stem I got from PV is thicker glass than the Arizer one and fits pretty tight. The old folks are going to have issues clearing the bong if the GonG is real loose in the Solo.

Ed's TNT stem is awesome but I really like the inverted, domed screen method and they don't fit in the thinner metal chamber.

@Jethro I only own one desktop and that is the EQ. What can be seen as a pro or con depends on what you're looking for. I'll pm you about my thoughts on the lotus and vapman.

The EQ can be left on for long periods of time but takes longer to warm up than the solo.

It can also heat up to 260c compared to the solos 210c but if you don't use your solo on 7 it probably a moot point.

The EQ is a convection vape (versus the conduction solo) so it offers a different vape signature.

Some desktops also offer the bag function which may or may not interest you. You could make a vapor lung and try it with the solo to see if you like it.

If you take to vaping through water a desktop can be good because the more powerful heater stays hotter longer.

@ataxian Yesterday afternoon before I left for my work Christmas party I vaped a dry stem in the solo at 4 on your advice. It definitely gave me a good uppy social high. I will be doing it more often.

Edit: PS my wallet hates this thread. Gonna order some of those domed screens to try.

Ordered the screens just then. Should be fun trying them out.

Has anyone tried a vapor lung with the solo? I will make one tonight if I can find the materials around home.

A while ago I was having fun using my solo with a waterfall bong. I used a male gong - female whip adpater - small whip - glass mouth piece melted into a lid. The pop top lid works great for the drain but a simple hole would work too. It's a litre bottle.

It worked really well. Super think vapor would fill the bottle and I could take the whole lot in one breath. I usually did it on level 7 and the load would be spent in one go. YMMV.

Wow, that's a lot hotter. I do use 7 occasionally, it seems certainly when I do pure kief I usually start at 6 and quickly go to 7 just with the glass stem. But good flower I often start at 4 and leave it there for a whole 12min cycle. The inverted screens are super economical. Seems to give the flower more surface area and it tastes great for like 20-30 draws and FULL medication:lol::razz::freak: Anyway I think you'll not regret the purchase.

I want a desktop at some point no matter what. Possibly the Vapman Station. And an EQ!! I wanna see one in action milking up some glass! Have you checked the mail today??

I know nothing about a Vapor lung!? Have to check the linky.

@Nugg In the 70's very few people could keep up with me.
In Hawaii surfing was a counterbalance to my Folly.

The kids from OZ will be here in a few days ( in their late 20's)

My SOLO is always full and Level 4 is my sweet spot.
I had some homegrown weed and level 5 was where I ended up due to the moisture content.

These daz's worrying about level's?

I can use a WAX PEN or a small piece of Cotton level 6 on my SOLO.

Rolling Joints I never forget it's just the flavor of glass on my lips and vapor in my lungs makes a SOLO very luxurious!

Maybe that is why I am happy with a SOLO?

A lot of people have 900 portable vaporizers and if that's there thing?

We have some serious commonalities.

I too like to end sentences with a ? , something I picked up from a very intelligent person.... The simple ? .... It makes an impact on the verbiage?

I also don't really embrace the "level obsession".... whatever level makes YOU feel happy.

With a majority of herb in the stem, I take a few at 3 and temp up to 5 .

If I got hash in there, I set it to 6 or 7 and the exhaled vapor always makes me think to myself...

Where is the power cord???

Oh... Yeah, this is a portable? Neat!

I used to surf and skate on the other side of the Country.

Zigzags and Glass Pipes and a medium sized bong used to suffice, but I'm very pleased with the decision to live the Vape Life.

3 days away from 6 months of zero combustion. I feel better for sure.

Surfing was my life most of my life.
Skiing, Cycling, Golf in most parts of the world besides Island Hopping in different seas.
In High School DAZED and CONFUSED was how it was.
1/4# of CANNABIS was standard!

Friends from the EAST COAST drove BMW's and had lots of cash.
CALIFORNIAN'S were more HIPPY TYPE.


SKATEBOARDING was so fun!

We drained swimming Pools and turn them into SKATE PARK'S!

Red VAN'S and 501 JEANS, HANG TEN T-SHIRTS was the fashion early 70's.

In HAWAII we HOT BOXED KOLAS without SEEDS before and after SURFING.

Just think to have a SOLO back in the day?
