Discontinued Elevape SV

For anyone thinking of buying from vape-smart be aware that they are now offering the 7th Floor SideKick which isn't even available from 7th floor without even mentioning that it's a pre-order product.

They also say they're an authorized dealer on their site and Scott from haze said on reddit that they don't even sell to them which I would assume means they are not authorized dealers of anything.

I'm extremely tempted to order from them but I don't feel comfortable giving them my credit card info. If paypal was an option I'd jump right on it but wouldn't ya know it? It isn't.

The guy who posted about it and said he'd bought from them in the past only has one post also...not saying he's lying but all things considered it isn't looking good for vape-smart.

@darkrom just saw you ordered from them. Did you receive a tracking number yet? Says under their FAQ that they "ship fast" within "24-48 hours."

I ordered one from vape-smart so we will see. Too tempting to resist at that price considering how badly I need an on-demand portable.

So far my CC has been charged correctly and I received a standard e-mail receipt. The order also shows up on their site and shows as processing.

I will give them until Wednesday. If I hear nothing I will contact them. No tracking number by next Friday I will open a dispute with Visa.

Sorry for the slightly off topic response but I just want to clarify that just because a vendor is not buying directly from us doesn't mean warranty coverage will not be covered. In our case we would verify where their stock came from. If it came from an authorized source then we would most certainly cover it. I can't speak for other manufacturers.

Yeah that may be the case with Haze and that's some great customer service but I guarantee a company like Storz and Bickel (just as an example) wouldn't go to the trouble of finding out if the store you purchased from (which isn't an authorized dealer) purchased from an authorized dealer.

What these guys are doing is no different than if I were to buy a bunch of stock from random online stores then throw it all on eBay. All the while claiming I'm an authorized dealer of every product I sell.

Well now I've gone & done it. Couldn't pass up the vape-smart deal though I had the same hesitation about no PayPal option. I got an order-processing email & receipt email immediately so just waiting on a tracking number. Does USPS Priority Mail provide tracking numbers?

I did contact Joe & he said $184 is below wholesale so vape-smart is losing $. He is having a BF sale but not as cheap as $184. He didn't warn not to buy from them, just gave me a link for accessories if needed. Wondering if vape-smart has old stock?

In any case, I will be back with a progress report and questions no doubt.

I think you meant '....just how old their stock is'? If it's being sold below wholesale it's sure not new stock. Right? What's the old joke? 'Sure we'll lose a little bit on each sale, but we'll make it up in volume'.

The 'half priced ESV' I bought a earlier this year was obviously a 'problem child'. It has a S/N well under 100, came with the 'sliders' (heat levels) all the way up and still wouldn't get hot enough. By smell it had never made vapor (though obviously someone had tried, and tried hard). The battery was dead, of course.

Not to worry, Joe put it right and upgraded the program. But it is about as old as you can get.

My guess is someone is clearing inventory, selling as a 'loss leader' stock sitting on the shelf for some time tying up capital. Otherwise selling at below the wholesale cost you paid is not a way to keep the doors open. "Buy low, sell high" is the way it went when I was in school.

Just so Dab HAppy!
The only thing that is kinda eerie to me is that the pictures of the ESV chamber resemble a serial number starting with E? So far I have not heard of this. The first time I saw this I shrugged it off and though they were a picture of a European model or something, but then just the other day someone from UK posted a serial number starting with an A so I have no clue what to think about that now...

You can get a Crafty for 271 shipped with the coupon. A Vapir Prima for 207 shipped. An unreleased non existent 7th Floor SideKick for 188 shipped.

I just don't see any chance that these guys are legit.

I really hope for all of you guys who ordered that they are though.

Just got a tracking number so if it isn't legit it is one of the more elaborate scams that I have witnessed.

USPS shows not found but that is typical IME. With almost every store it usually takes a few hours after I get the e-mail confirmation before the tracking number is active. If its still not found after I get off work tonight I will be more concerned.

OK, you guys got me kinda freaked out about vape-smart so I called them to see if I could cancel my order. Apparently it already shipped & they sent a tracking no. although USPS doesn't have info yet (normal). I spoke to a guy named Oron & asked what the serial no. of my unit is. He said I'm not the only one who has called to ask that & assured me that it is legit new stock & that it is returnable at their expense if I don't like the serial no. or anything. He also said the manufacturer had just called him to find out what was going on that they could sell them so cheap.

He said they just raised the price to $259 & the "Hallowin" coupon code is no longer valid so "5 or 6 people just got really lucky with the special." If Joe did indeed speak with him, my guess is they had to raise the price because $184 would undercut even Joe's BF sale.

He also said he had "told the manufacturer to tell people on his social networks" that they are an authorized dealer & kept reassuring me they are legit.

I want to believe him. We will see in a few days.

Hi Boys and Girls Of Vape land ,
I called Vape-Smart to see what is going on, and to make sure that you guys are not getting ripped off , the price seemed to be suspicious . I spoke wit Oron ( BTW He is a really nice guy) What happened was their IT dep. tmade a mistake and they should not have taken the discount off the already low promo price . they have lost money on each units they sold to you guys . :-) .

The warranty is honored , to the original purchaser no meter where you buy it , there are a few cases where the unit was sold to stores as demo and the retailer is selling the returned stock at a deep discount that was on the shelf for a year, the battery pack is degraded and most likely will need to be replaced, in that case the units battery pack will be replaced for a 50.00 charge and that re setts the warranty period.

Thank you for looking into it and putting the concerns to rest!! As someone who does customer service for a living I really appreciate it when someone goes that extra step to take care of their customers. A lot of others would just direct you to their authorized dealers page and leave it at that.

Now I am super excited to get this thing. It looks to be everything I wanted in the GH and in some ways maybe even better.

Yes, I second that thank you to Joe!

Here's hoping ours aren't among those that have the degraded battery....

Well I'll try and ignore the fact I paid over double what you guys have over here in England ....

However after a week I'm starting to get the perfect usage of the Elevape.

It's an odd vape, a bit like a MFLB in that you need to learn to use the correct way to get the perfect vape session. You can't just set it high and heave of you will see combustion and shitty taste, however if you work with it and experiment you can have perfect fast vaping and almost full extraction.

For me I've found going a little lower on temp and using a slower draw allows for a good cloud without combustion. However, I need more than 8 seconds and so I do 4, then let off and then do 8 until flashing. I draw as slow as I can without the light going out (number 16-17 ish but that's fairly irrelevant as all are different).

Each 2x 4+8's I do a full 360 degree turn on the base with the stir tool in.

This absolutely works best for me and I'll see full dark brown herb after about 8x 4 + 8's.

A battery is good for about 3-4 bowls.

If I go too high on heat I get a hot spot just off centre that can combust the herb, hence why slightly lower and a slightly longer time is better for me.

I may be able to tweak the temp to find that sweet spot which works for the standard 8 seconds, however what I'm doing now works so well it's hard to want to tinker for fear of combusting.

Took a couple of sessions but now I know the technique it's so easy for me, 12 seconds from standing to blowing out a cloud vs the 1 minute + of my Ascent.

It's a great vape, do I regret buying it at £225? nope, do I regret having to pay another £12 for a stir tool? nope, but I think it's a bit shitty not including it as the allen bolt is a design flaw.

It's not a vape if you're broke, or if you don't want to experiment, however with a bit of learning you can have something that answers pretty much all of your usual vaping issues, with little compromise.

As for covert stoners like me, the one thing rarely mentioned is that this really cuts down on smell. Because you don't have an oven cooking it and loads of vape escaping there is very little residual. I've done some pretty risky vaping, it's almost smell-less.

As for those who knock it's shape, I can palm it very easily and so it's almost invisible. I hold it a bit like a trumpet with first finger just in front of LED and that means I can see it while tooting. It's actually very small, those who complain about the size must have pretty little lady hands.

The general feel and impression is of solid heavy quality tooling, well everything except the mouthpiece which wiggles a little, that should have been threaded.

if you see a product you like at an attractive price at a site you don't feel comfortable using..shop around and see if you can price match. There are other sites that use paypal my friend

@Thevengeance elevape does have a European distibutor just so you know. Just contact Joe. He is just about the nicest guy in the world FYI!

Great Scott!
Mine arrives today. I've had it in the back of my mind since launch, but it seems to have proven itself worthy and made improvements along the way.

I plan to update the firmware immediately and do the initial charge. How long is the initial charge again? I remember thinking it was a VERY long time. Its going to be really hard to not just say fuck it and use it half charged, which I've done on more vapes than I care to admit. UGH the waiting is the worst.

Are you fucking kidding me. They shipped me JUST the cheapo grinder I told them not to bother shipping. No vape. Yeah $184 for a chinese aluminum grinder. Can't say I'm happy so far...

I specifically told them to ditch the grinder and that I'd be reviewing their "relatively unknown" site here on fuckcombustion. Beyond sloppy.

The envelope is only big enough for exactly the grinder, they didn't even attempt to ship out my vape. Trying to get in contact with them now. Really making it hard to support the little guy when its always SOMETHING.

God damn it. This is really a problem for me now that my mighty is ready to get shipped out.

Bummer. I'm sure it'll be resolved, but it might take a bit. As a suggestion, take a clear photo of the envelope (showing label) with just the grinder. The boxed ESV is 3 X 5 X 8 inches, not e asy to overlook...

Offer to email them the photo. Suggest they should send it out today premium speed (at their expense).

Hopefully this is not the way they hope to recover from their screw up WRT pricing. One way to not loose money is to screw up then CANCEL the order and refund your money.

Good luck. I think you'll like ESV. It's not Cera LL when it comes to clouds, but lots easier to use.

I did take the pics already like "wtf is this a vape for ants!"

Thanks man. I'm not trying to be unreasonable, but specifically in the portable vaporizer "game" it seems like there is always some huge issue. I've been set with my desktop reliable and happy. Portable...not so much.

I really hope they don't cancel. As amped as I am to have the ESV, I'm not sure I can spend $270 or whatever the next best price is at vapor nation if they try to screw up and cancel on purpose. I have a zion coming "eventually" that I already paid for. Thrilled about the zion, not thrilled to know I won't have it until at least 2016.

Hopefully there is nothing shady going on, but I can already tell you getting the envelope smaller than the ESV box is pretty damn shady. I'll see what they say I guess.

UPDATE:

The elevape is on its way from a different location. At least I can confirm they are not straight out scamming, which is great. Their email mentioned I can return it if I don't like my serial number which is worrying. I won't be getting the ESV until wednesday, but what should I be looking for when it comes to serial numbers. Is there old hardware besides just update the FW? Actual hardware changes?

Update to my update:

Its looking good. I talked to customer support and they said they talked to Joe and verified it is some of the latest serial numbers. I can wait till wednesday if everything is in order. The experience dealing with their support has actually been better than average so far. I'll be happily reporting that I panicked and jumped the gun assuming foul (this is the internet right?).

Looks like from what I've seen they seem to be a standup company. As long as the vape arrives with a recent serial on Wednesday, I'd definitely do business with them again.

You didn't jump the gun @darkrom there are countless red flags on their website.

Maybe, but if the product comes as described, and is a new model for almost half price, is that still a red flag?

There is some strange stuff no doubt, but as of now everything checks out. Joe spoke with them like they said he did. If the serial is a recent batch then I'm going to be very happy, despite the skepticism and the heart sinking feeling of finding just a grinder today.
