Discontinued Elevape SV

Just so Dab HAppy!
Got my new ESV yesterday...and she's so beautiful. Even though I only had my first ESV for 7 monthes, she was abused and you could tell. On the bottom I had some deep scratches where you could see silver. The edges were fading from a black to a blueish color.

My new ESV is so pristine, I don't remember my first ever looking so good. I didn't charge or adjust anything. I opened my box up, pulled the cold ESV out and put just enough flower to barely cover the entire screen. I usually don't put this little in the ESV as in my old ESV I could kill this amount in 2-3 hits and I like to get more than that out of a session. I was already testing out my new Firewood so I figured I would take it easy and load just enough to try it out. It worked fantastically just as I recall. Straight out of the box, no stir lid, no bottle cap screen, no double screen in the oven, stock mouthpiece with mouthpiece screen still in place and it worked...isn't that an ESV myth of some sort! I joke, but I was happy that everything seems in order with my new ESV. I am sure I will remove the mouthpiece screen, but otherwise I intend on leaving it the way it is unless it actually requires modification/reconfiguring at some point.

I'm still in the honeymoon phase with the Firewood so I only took 3-4 hits from the ESV and charged it for the initial 5 hours. After about 3 or 4 hours the charger showed a green light, however I recall the instruction to charge for 5 hours regardless for the initial charge so that is what I did. Then I finished what was left in the oven in another 3 hits and now she is getting some rest.

Heard from joe today. The eu depot has my esv and have just had a delivery of new fresh batterys. They are being tested over the next few days and then hopefully my esv will be winging its way back to me. Hoping by the end of next week. I actually cant wait. Mine didnt work out of the box so hope to be part of team esv very shortly.

After looking at the thread that discusses temperatures and compounds extracted, I decided to amp up the little ESV a bit. I had previously topped out around 360 F. Kicked setting three up to 425 F, fully expecting a cough-fest. To my surprise, 425 was just as cool and smooth as 320 (and I was never a combustor [combuster?], so I'm a bit wimpy).

Two sessions at higher temps, with three draws at each setting, and the battery was only drained 25%.

Good stuff, Joe.

Yep. Again, I think the numbers are good relatively (a guide) but not absolutely accurate. We know from other vapes that a 100F step is HUGE as seen by the load. That (100 degrees F) is much larger than the entire range of vapes like Solo or Air (which are much closer to 50F total), and we quibble about the effects of temperature changes 1/10 that size (10 degree changes).

Great Scott!
Can someone give me a quick run down on this vape? Haven't looked into it since it was new.

Now that its been out for a bit, how much usage are people getting per real world charge. How long does a real world charge take?

Do you all feel like its clean? Strong effects?

What is the most negative aspect, and what is your favorite?

I'm strongly considering getting one of these since it seems like my Zion won't be coming until Christmas or later, and I'd like to see what options I have in the meantime. Currently I've got a firefly and a mighty for portables. Do you think this would be a good addition, and where is the best place to buy one?

Sorry for the 20 questions, but I feel like I need something different to hold me over until the zion comes. Yes I read the FAQ on the manufacturers site, but my experience with a product is often very different from the stated claims, otherwise I have several "best in the world!" vapes haha. Real world feedback is hugely important to me.

This thing is built like a tank. It's easy to clean and is much less finicky (so far) than earlier posts had me thinking.

Aside from the bottle cap mod, I've made no other tweaks and get consistent crunchy brown abv without stirring. Since upping my temps (even 425 F is remarkably cool and smooth) I do three 10 second draws at each temp setting with good results.

My favorite feature is the instant on. The thing is always ready and can deliver the goods so quickly. The flavor might be a bit cleaner than the Crafty. The draw is so easy that I sometimes wonder if I'm getting anything.

With the Crafty, I get three sessions/charge. With the ESV I can get five. I haven't measured time to charge but I'm thinking it's in the 90-120 minute range.

I use it daily because of how quickly it can be ready. This means the Crafty is getting less use because I don't always have that 2-3 minutes to sit and wait for it to heat up. It seems to have many of the features I hope for in the ever-delayed GH, without the stealth form factor and without the heat (mouthpiece and back end).

Despite this, I'm struggling to ignore the siren song of the Vapir Prima...

ETA:
Negatives --
- The wobbly mouthpiece annoys the shit out of me. It undermines the perceived build quality of the rest of the unit.
- The micro usb cord that comes with it is a piece of shit.
- If you want big, lung-busting clouds, I don't think this is your vape (unless it's just my technique).

@darkrom I would go for the ESV or the FW3 right now. I have both and I'm waiting on the Zion. I use the Daisy at night because I need a heavy hitter, however the FW3 with water tools can keep up with the Daisy as I have not used my Daisy all week since I received my FW3 on Monday.

The ESV is a great vaporizer. It has been my Daily Driver for 7 months until it was confiscated earlier this month. It took me less than a week to decide I had to buy another one. While I think the FW3 might hold you over until you get your Zion, I think you might be missing out by not having the ESV in your line up more than the FW3. I'll get to your questions now, however keep in mind that the ESV can work very different for one user compared to another based on many user controlled parameters. Draw speed, length, temp setting, strain moisture content and so on...

First time charge is supposed to be 5 hours I think. After that it only takes an hour to an hour and a half to charge. This is typical now of all that have chimed in this thread to acknowledge they have the newest firmware installed on their ESV. If you do not buy direct, you should check your firmware upon receipt if you decide to purchase an ESV. It is simple to install the new firmware to get the ESV updated if need be.

It is cleanest and strongest I can imagine for a portable. I imagine the Zion will be stronger, but not cleaner as I would anticipate a wood flavor still coming out of the Zion. The body is all aluminum. You can't burn aluminum, there is no inert material so every hit is clean. The vapor path is specifically designed and patented in a way that is perfected for cool vapor. I talked to Joe personally about this and he takes a lot of pride in the design of the vapor path. Every measurement and curve is there for a reason especially the hour glass design.

The clean cool instant vapor is my favorite aspect. It's the reason I had to get an ESV again. It has also been very reliable and consistent for me once I had it tuned.

The negative aspect is the ESV can seem finicky to some and can require slight customization to tune it in perfect to ones use. At least the was my previous experience. The new ESV I just purchased is working straight out of the box but I have only used it twice so far as I am still honeymooning with the FW3.

I bought both of my ESV's direct from Joe. You can call him or order online at elevapesmart.com. Joe's direct line is listed on the website under the contact info and he will answer and take your order or answer any questions you have. He answers that phone every time I have called. You can also buy from Randy at puffitup.com or Vapornation.com. If you have loyalty to any commercial vaporizer retailer then I would try to see if they stock the ESV and then find the best price you can online (http://vape-smart.com/shop/elevape-smart-vaporizer/) and ask them to match the price or just use Vapornation's "low price guarantee".

Hopefully this helps you in your pursuit! Now I'm off to the Zion thread to find out what update RBT has left us with. From your post above, I'm expecting a bad update.

Many vapes & accessories. Always happy to help
@nosmoking I have doubts http://vape-smart.com/shop/elevape-smart-vaporizer/ is
is a trusty seller. They claim to have the Evoke "in stock" - which hasn't been released yet. Persoally, I would not go there.. what I know from Joe it's not an authorized dealer at least. I chose the safe way and ordered directly as well. Joe is a great guy - you won't be disappointed.
Eagerly awaiting the lil black box - am too in the Zion game, each one will have it's own place. :)

I agree completely that the link I provided is not from a known or trusted seller. That is why I recommended getting the device from the 3 places that I did actually recommend. I expressed the same doubts about buying from an untrusted source/vendor previously in this thread. You can however use their pricing to get better pricing from Vapornation as I also stated.

Like you though, I chose the safe route and would highly recommend this. I believe Joe does offer a small discount to FC members if asked or if the code is used on his website. I don't recall the code now, but it was provided early on in this thread.

Just received my ESV #28 back from Joe. Although I am still getting my ass kicked by the app for Mac, the 3 factory settings work just dandy. Now here's the thing, back when I was throwing poop on my Esv (in full expectation of another convection vaporizer) I had convinced myself that the Esv was a finicky bitch that I had no time for. I would like to re-absorb any manure thrown by myself towards the Esv. It has given such good performance that I have sold BOTH of those new fangled convection vapes that I waited so long for.
I will stay in this camp, forget lugging extra batteries, condoms, and the like. That other vape is real good. The Esv is real good for me. Looking forward to what the future brings from Joe and the crew.

Very bold words my man, love the perspective!

I should be able to compare a whole army of powerful pure convection vapes before the end of the year (I hope). ESV is still a wonder!

1. Now that its been out for a bit, how much usage are people getting per real world charge. How long does a real world charge take?

2. Do you all feel like its clean? Strong effects?

3. What is the most negative aspect, and what is your favorite?

4. I'm strongly considering getting one of these since it seems like my Zion won't be coming until Christmas or later, and I'd like to see what options I have in the meantime. Currently I've got a firefly and a mighty for portables. Do you think this would be a good addition, and where is the best place to buy one?

1. 3 to four bowls with 0.07g ... can not say how much clouds Iget per bowl...
charging with the short usb cable which comes with the esv using usb from pc it charges very fast half an hour to 45 min.

2. airpath goes truth usb plug, electronics, aluminium, coil, aluminum as far as i know... in my opinion it is more or less clean , but I have found small aluminium parts in my bowl in my opinion it is due to open the lid and putting it back on...
the first hits (as usual) taste really good (better then crafty or pax, vapman)

3. negativ: you have to fill the bowl (lightly because of convection 0.07 to 0.1g if you want good clouds (subjective)

4. if you find it for a good price I would recommend it it is deffintly a different vape then the mighty because of its on demand heat up time and your herb only cooks if you take a draw...

it is like others have already mentioned really well build

Hey, long term lurker first time poster.
So after several happy years with an Ascent I decided I needed to try convection.

Bought a firefly from a long time associate who's sold me plenty of genuine vapes before but this time definitely fake, however it did show me the size and shape won't suite my needs and so I've gone for what I wanted in the first place, an Elevape.

Happy to tinker to get the best out of it but this thread has become a bit long now.

What should I do and what shouldn't I? I'm assuming bottle cap guaze is the main mod that people do, this somehow stops bits getting on camera and also stops burning without stirring ? Is that right?

Would be great to hear from vets to save me making any mistakes, I don't think I have time to read 92 pages.

Thanks

Biggest one imo is removing the mouthpiece screen, unnecessary draw restriction imo.

Next would be coil tilt, then bottle cap screen (which gets rid of center screw in lid, allowing more even heating, still gotta brush off the lens every now and then) I still need to stir with bottle cap screen but others don't.

First thing, try stock, and see. It may work fine for you out of the box, go from there and see what you'd like the change. To me though you can take the mouthpiece out screen right away. Also there have been new users over the past 20 pages here, so I'd just start reading backwards and you'll get the same tips that were repeated for others im sure.

Welcome and enjoy!

Does the Elevape now come with the stir lid as standard?

I watched this video from namanste, which is supposedly an unboxing and it appears to be fitted as stock.

Yes @Thevengeance the Elevape does come standard with a stir tool for the lid.

Are you guys talking about the same thing? I see it 'coming out of the box' with the stir LID installed (check at about 7 minutes), not the stir TOOL that comes with the unit???

That is the stir lid is still an extra money option that must be installed by the owner.

I too suspect the 'unboxing' was staged?
