Discontinued The Grasshopper

I like hearing all the positive about the Grasshopper but time will tell how this performs long term. Glad that some units are problem free and I would like to hear about more. I am concerned about the hot mouthpiece and I don't know if I would be interested in having to use the added silicone mouthpiece to make it more tolerable.

I too am holding off too buying this unit. Having to wait so long to get it once you or order is a problem for me. This was going to be my Black Friday purchase but I want it for Christmas so I'm going to order the Haze.

Maybe this will be ready to order and receive next summer. Is that too optimistic?

:hmm:

Very bold statement SWG, very bold statement indeed...:sherlock:

Do you believe the GH will last as long as the aforementioned vapes problem free?
When it works, I guess it works good. We both know the QC is far from up to par.

GH units aren't very reliable from what I've read through out the thread, that's why I plan on waiting awhile before I purchase one.
i must be lucky because my GH is SUPER RELIABLE!!;)

I lost my silicone mouthpiece after a week or something and I don't miss it. Mouthpiece gets hot, but if you put it a little deeper in your mouth and not just the tip it's not a problem for me. And if it gets too hot after 6 or 7 draws, wait a minute or two and take another few hits.

This has got to be the inadvertently funniest post I've ever read on FC...

I'd be more sad about not being able to use it with a waterpipe :(

I don't see any scratches but the taper edge has no color on it. Honestly the silicone mouthpiece takes away more color and there is no grating sound it just locks to 14mm glass. I take off the mouthpiece from my purple and it looks gray and purple of many shades.

Also getting way better performance and extractions from a simple screen packing.

Were your units all replaced Payt?

Thought I remember you posted each one failing at various points...

And you mean screen packing, keeping herb closer to the heater? Instead of flying up to the mouthpiece screen?

Using it on glas without the silicone was never a problem. On the contrary, the silicone mouthpiece is a little too big so that GH doesn't stand stable on glas. So far I haven't any scratches.

This has changed my life.

Thank you.

Aparently I never tried it without the condom, works fine.
Plus it stays in place without having to hold it. Bonus!

Yeah they've all been replaced.

Yeah, small loads don't extract well at all without being pressed to the heater.

I though small packs extract very well?

Wow so using the silicone mouthpiece rubs off some of the color on the Ti?

I wouldn't say its rubbing off but my purple has the cool of effect changing colors when things apply enough pressure or heat. Like if you press hard enough on it while its warm you'll "imprint" your fingerprint into the hopper for a while, while hitting without the mouthpiece it gives a good monochromatic scheme where your lips were.

We all have different demands for extraction, I like something like this, (from the Versa)

Grasshopper damage report! (Dropped on concrete from about 3-4 ft. Mouthpiece dented, still 100% functional):

The dynamic energy in a moving object, like a falling vaporizer or Fender Stratocaster can be expressed as:

E = 1/2 m v2 (1)

where

E = dynamic energy (J, ft lb)

m = mass of the object (kg, slugs)

v = velocity of the object (m/s, ft/s)

Is that the stainless steel model or the titanium?

Aaaaand there it is.....failure number 2. Now it won't heat up. It just emits a rapid clicking sound. This is highly irritating especially since I just got it back. At this point I would be happy if it lasted more than one night's use.
Damn it.... not the news any of us wanted to hear..... can you tell if it is the same unit or do you think this might have been a brand new unit from the more recent "parts adjustment" batch..?

No sure if the failure rate has slowed down or not? I don't think we have enough FCers with the units in hand as of yet. We are still waiting for the flood of users here on the thread. Good that the one unit held up after being dropped from 3 or 4 feet, that is hopeful.

The failure rate makes me think that one needs to have two hoppers on hand in order to use one regularly, one for use and one perpetually in the mail. So I was thinking of adding a 2nd (ss this time) hopper to my og order (1 year 11 months ago today). But then I think if this is the case they will not be able to remain in business. I found that we can't get the backer price anymore, so is the lifetime warranty gone as well?

I don't understand why they haven't been able to fix this issue? It seems like the same old problem with the flashing lights, right? Something is causing this problem, maybe some are just bound to fail and others are ok but it seems like they haven't gotten to the bottom of it.I own 2 hoppers, used/tested 2 others, 4 in total, non of them had a problem....knock on wood
