Yes you can. I usually stick some sort of pokey through the hole to ungunk it. Then I take a q-tip (or several) dipped in ISO and swab it out. There's a little plastic piece inside the mouthpiece that can come out as well.

I have now tried the new ceramic atty's and I'm really happy with them. They seem to be more efficient in melting the concentrate and I have been able to load more than in the older version without the buildup happening; albeit I've only been using it a week. The only downside that I can see is that they are a bit more expensive than the old atty. I'll know more as time goes on.

Well, I just dove into this class of devices. My current vapes are an Arizer Air, a Lotus and Da Buddha. I also own and have used an Extreme Q, a MFLB, a PAX and an Iolite.

So, now that Oregon is going legal and I have access to concentrates I thought I'd give these things a whirl. I've been using an e-cig for over six years (ProVari + Aspire tanks) so I'm up to speed on the basic tech. My research led me to the Dr. Dabber and the new Source Orb. Couldn't decide between the two so I bought both.

In my initial impressions (three days with both) it seems to me that the Dabber is way more "plug and play." The position of the coil in the chamber is perfect (my kit came with the new ceramic coil atomizers) and it seems very efficient with material. I'm using shatter. The Orb, on the other hand, has been a struggle to find a sweet spot. I started with the dual quartz wick atomizer and got reasonable results. Switched to the Terra coil-less atomizer and really hate it. Both take a fair amount of material to "prime" because of the positioning of the coils (a bit too high)/design of the chamber. I'll keep trying Orb atomizers. I suspect the single coil quartz may be the best option.

At the moment I'm a lot more apt to reach for the Dabber. It gives a more consistent hit. The tight draw and fixed voltage strongly contrast the very open Orb draw and variable voltage. I feel like the Dabber is more of a workhorse, take it with you portable while the bigger, heavier Orb is more of an at-home aficionado piece.

About iso and cleaning the atty, I found that a small glass pill bottle is ideal for keeping the atty clean. My pill bottle can actually hold two attys. It works better when filled with iso and one atty. Shaking the bottle two or three times and my atty is 90% clean in 20 minutes or so. If its really gunky, I might take an x-acto knife to the atty before dunking in iso.

hi I'm new this year to vaporizers I got arizer air but wanted something looked more like e cig and due to high pain level needed stronger doses so I decided to try concentrates for first time from dispensary and from posts on here I settled on Dr dabber to use to do that... It did work ok first day or two but then atomizer got super black tarry stuff covering coils and started to smell and taste bad...so I thought I might have overloaded it and I fucked it up so I switched to next atomizer included trying to make sure I used smaller amounts. But the same thing happened so I bought another seperate atomizer and this one was a bit better in how long it lasted but as of yesterday is not working like the others as tar like black stuff has coated the coils again and when I hold button down it doesn't even smoke or anything?! I've tried soaking in ISO as per Dr dabber page advice but nothing came off?! So I'm assuming this is a user error as I doubt 3 seperate atomizers malfunctioned lol so are these recoverable? If so what am I doing to cause it. I have a pic but can't figure out how to attach it to post as this my first time posting

My first thought is that you are overloading the atty and not using all the concentrate in the pen before refilling it. The second thought is that the concentrate you are using isn't suitable for the pen. Without pictures, it's hard to tell. I've had some concentrates that just don't melt properly in the pen and do go 'black tar.' But usually, it's overloading that causes the issue.

The atty's that no longer work... did you poke inside them at all? The wires become dislodged very easily.

To load a pic, download it first to a picture hosting site such as Photobooth. Copy the direct link and paste it in the dropdown box you get when you click the picture icon in your forum toolbar.

nope guess it didn't anyways thanks momofgoons for responding I agree overfilling the first atty I did poke in but not with other two( ive used 3 different strains and consisteny with attys all bought from dispensary btw)... anyways if overfilling and such have created the black tarry stuff so next question are these attys salvageable or are they permanently done for?

Those look pretty well shot to me.

I still feel they've all been over loaded. The third one has way too much concentrate in it.

If your battery isn't holding a charge and blinking, it means it is done. Contact Drdabber customer service for a warranty replacement.

I got one of the attys to fire up by holding the button down and then screwing the atty on. Did that reset it? It's on the charger now taking a charge, so yeah the battery. It did seem like last two times I charged it, that it went green too quick. Wiil find out soon enough.

Regardless, I am digging this pen. It's a bit more of a sipper to medium size hits, but not in a bad way. Very discreet. I like the atty, efficient size chamber with less gunk after a session but not perfect. Easy to keep clean and burns off like new after a soak. Might be liking the glass more than the ceramic.

Just got my dabber in. Great piece of hardware. Its a portable dabbing machine..

I did forget to use the discount code and emailed them, but didn't even get a response. I figured my bad for not entering the code but it doesn't hurt to ask. Figured within 4 days I would at least get an answer. Not even that. I'm good with losing the discount but the lack of even a response is unsettling for me. Big fan of good/prompt CS. that was half the reason I chose the Dr.

Either way I'm loving the controlled little dabs I can take, small or large. Good job on the product.

3 and a half(ish) month update: The Dr. Dabber has totally replaced the MFLB as my daily driver. I used the MFLB for over 3 years and I still love it, but the convenience of the Dabber was immediately apparent from the first day when it arrived in my mailbox.

With the MFLB, it required smelly proof bags, daily charging, grinding, then more grinding (in the finishing grinder), then finally vaping, cleaning with a brush, then everything back into smelly proof bags. I had a bag for the MFLB and 2 stems, a glass jar for long-term herb storage and a plastic container for a few sessions worth (I only vaped occasionally and a 1/4 lasted me a long time, so the herb would dry out if I opened the glass jar too often). And not to forget a box for my power adapter, car adapter, and batteries. Plus a container for ABV and another small box for my two grinders and cleaning brushes. All those containers and bags added up to what looked like a full time stoner's collection.

Fast-forward to now: I have one very slim box that the Dr. Dabber came in. It has specialized compartments for the pen, 3 spare atomizers, the charger, a silicone ball (it holds my 2 types of concentrates), and the dabber tool. As for vaping, I just have to pull the pen out, vape, and put it back. Every few dabs, I'll break out that silicone ball and add a rice grain-sized amount of concentrate to the wick. No cleaning, no daily charging (I do once a month, but never actually ran out of charge), and less inhales to get where I want to go. This was such a big improvement that I haven't actually used my MFLB since the Dabber arrived.

So there you have it: for me, the Dr. Dabber is a clear winner.

Just one question for all of you: I haven't changed the atomizer since receiving the Dabber. I used it 3-4x/week (2 or 3 dabs per day) for the past 3.5 months, but it still works. The concentrate doesn't absorb into the wick quite as fast as it used to, but the wick heats up nicely and certainly does the job. My question is, seeing that the estimated longevity of the atomizer is around 1 month, is there any reason for me to replace it now? Since they are expensive, I just never felt like it was worth replacing yet. Is this bad for my health?

I've had a KandyPens Black Edition for a few weeks. It has been ok, but nobody likes ok. Ordered a Dr. Dabber today! Hope it is a much better more consistent device. Fingers crossed!

Update. Took a few more days than I expected but the Dr made good on the coupon code. Thanks @Dr.Dabber. You did it good with this unit. Now I'm going to spend that saved money towards one of your water adapters.

I like how I can rip a huge dab or split it into a few smaller hits. Discreet and quick its easy to pull out and get medicated very fast.

If the atty is still working well, there's no reason to change it.

The Dr. Dabber arrived yesterday...........we have a winner! Much better than the KandyPen I was using. Just using the "grain of rice" as a guide, it is cleaner, easier to load, consistant, and tasty! Thanks for building a better mousetrap Dr. D! Gotta love Ego batteries. Used them for a couple years as an e-cigger. They are simple and long lasting. The atomizer design lets you get right in there with your material for total vaporization. Still looking for the holy grail, where you can load up a bunch and carry it all day, but until then, Dr. D is my new go to!

They did replace my Light battery promptly. Nothing for me to return just exchanged emails. The new battery design has a spring loaded contact point btw.

When I hold the button down for a while the tip will blink blue, what does this mean? Will it blink before the battery is low?

I think that's a safeguard to protect the atomizer and wick. I'm not sure if it's activated by temperature or the passing of a certain amount of time, but I have since tried to avoid holding the button down that long. My strategy is to continuously breathe in and hold the button down for 1-2 seconds, then release the button while still breathing, then press again for 1-2 seconds and repeat. Sort of the opposite of my MFLB technique (hold battery while intermittently taking hits).

Yeah that's been my plan usually. When it gets low on concentrate I do hold it down until I got the blinking light though.
