Hey Rick,

So I was using my MZ last night and it was fine, unplugged it for the night, than I woke this morning and noticed that it all of a sudden contains a SUPER rattle (I cant pick it up or place it down without noticing it). I've never dropped and take very good care of this thing (since i LOVE it) and i've had it for about 2 months now. I live by myself so i know that nobody else uses/touches it. It still as of right now produces vapor fine with the 13.5v i use but I am just curious if this is normal after 2 months.

Also, I'm the guy that got the big knot in my wood  a couple months back and wanted to give it a chance to break in since i really do love my piece. However, I was kind of wondering if that offer for me is still out on the table because it's still not turning my dry herb brown (but DOES seem noticeably warmer) with a 12v and I'm not loving the taste of the 13.5v. If that weren't the case than i think i would just be purchasing one of those "Tight Kits" in the near future. Didn't think it would be this soon though.

You might want to stick with the recommended 12v because you could be causing more wear to your MZ. The 12v gives you a perfect vaporizing temperature and it might take you a little longer to get vaked but in the end it is probably healthier to keep them lower and that is why most of us Vaporizer anyways, right?

Check this thread before you decide to keep at 13.5v

vcasal, I would email Rick directly. That knot in your Zap has caused problems from day one and I'm sure he would want you happy.

I'll 2nd the "NutZapper" or maybe just "NutZap" since some might make a joke out of Nut Zapper,

So a Rabbi, a Priest and an Imam were walking down the street when they came across a small electrical appliance store and on the front window was painted, "ACCESSORIES NOW AVAILABLE TO INCREASE THE POWER OF YOUR NUT ZAPPER"------inquire inside.

The Rabbi looked at the Priest and said..........

Long time WZ user, your problem appears to be a fairly common one. At least for me, anyways im not sure how the MZ works but what I used was a pin punch and some needle nose pliars. First you gently rotate the heat exchanger till you feel a slight snag. Next you put the tip of the pin punch to the top of the c clip that rests on top of the heat exchanger and tap on top of the pin punch all around the c clip with the side of the pliars till it sits snug. Idk if that helps but it has fixed that problem for me, so far so it may work for you.

Offer still good and we have other wood now you may want to try. Email me for our address if you don't have it. You need a Zap that runs right on 12 volts.
Live and learn here in Zapvillle about knots. Some are just fine but others have knots that are not.

They have a tree some call 'zapote tree" which would make a "ZapZap"

I wonder if Briar wood has been used, looks good and seems like a logical choice since people have been making pipes with it for generations.

mudstar, if I'm not mistaken, you want to make sure that the tubing you use is "food safe." I know you can get this type of tubing at places they sell brewing equipment (for beer). Or, perhaps you could get info from Rick as to where to get it.

Thanks for the input...was with a brewing friend of mine last night at Lowe's and even he didn't think of the brewing angle (probably because we had been testing our newly received zaps!) At any rate, I'll forgo the device connection until I get to the brewing supply store. Thanks!

Hey all...got a glass tooty with my order...love it so far. I was looking on the zap website and noticed that there are tooties available with carbs. Intriguing...anybody have one of these and care to comment?

mudstar, I was one of Rick's beta testers for all the glass, although the Tooty with a carb had not "arrived" yet. I did, however, test the PlaneJane with a carb. I liked it very much. Do I use it every day? No, because I really like variety and have many other stems to choose from now. So, some days, I feel like a nice, super charged hit where the carb clears the stem. Other times, not so much. I would definitely recommend it as an addition to your collection. And who knows? You might like it so much that it becomes your daily stem. My feeling is that if you can afford it, go for it. You wont be disappointed. :)

I do know that I'm enjoying my clear tooty, and am probably gonna spring for a colored tooty perhaps with a carb. It's all so exciting! hah... thanks for the input.

I was thinking the carb would work great to help cool mid-hit.
Sometimes the longer hits are just too hot.
Carb would be very easy and quick way to get some fresh O2 while inhaling.

After reading STAR's post I took a little trip down memory lane this morning. I was trying to see when it was that I bought my first Zap. Looking back at some of the old posts and pics made me all "Zap happy" again. There sure have been some beauties. I agree STAR, they are pieces of art. it's what attracted me to the Zap in the first place.

On another note, what's with everyone changing their avatars? I, for one, get used to associating the pic with the name. I was reading one of lwien's posts and thought to myself, this guys style looks familiar. Took me a while to realize it was lwien! Quit messing with my mind you guys!
