Yes! I had a feeling when I woke up this morning, and the mail lady just delivered!

First heating station cycle now commencing... too bad I have to leave and can't really enjoy this till tomorrow night!

Edit: already got a couple great hits, dial at about 3.5...
Just pop Vapman back into the egg, grab my torch and I'm ready to head out!

Thank you @vapman, this is fantastic. Can't wait to give it a proper go :spliff:

Vapmanjoe was using a classic, and OF had an issue with an older vapman and not with the one that came with the Station.

@OF, I don't know if you're brave enough, but I would make the center hole a little bit bigger using a an Exacto knife with a brand new blade, then wipe and blow off the degree from the operation. I think it'll be a a little bit if shaving only.

I really like how clean the inside looks. OF, can you post a pic of the switch you mentioned?

I've had trouble with one of two, before this product this detail was never that important I think. For all I know it's not known by René, he might not have run into it. For sure it wasn't checked for before, I don't think it's safe to assume it is now. I think everyone should check his carefully?

It's not a matter of brave, my experience with hand cut mica is not positive. To work well it has to be sanded/machined off or the layers will simply peel away with moisture, heat and what all. Better, I think, to fix the HS. After some thought I took a first cut at that. I pulled the post out (setscrew below the cup, half an inch or so down, .050 inch key fits OK, 1.5mm (my smallest metric) does not). I filed about half the corner off, slightly tapered to the bottom, and then spun it by hand in a fold of 320 grit Silicon Carbide paper (leaving a smooth, rounded surface). I also used a folded bit of the same paper to remove the sharp edges from the three little slots so it wouldn't attack the gold plating as much. Seems to be OK now?

I'm not sure what you need a photo for, toggle switches being pretty alike, but here you go (it's in the off positon):

Yeah well, you called it a "rocker switch" and you said it was backwards, so I don't know how a Rocker Switch can be backwards. I'm confused now, but I'm stupid so I'm easily confused...

No, I called it what it is, a toggle switch (sometimes incorrectly called a lever switch), like a common wall light switch. The manual incorrectly calls it a rocker. Here's what I said above:

"BTW, a minor quibble, the "rocker switch" in the manual is really a small unlabeled chrome mini toggle switch next to the power jack".

Orientation of such switches is standardized in the US (perhaps it's 'backwards' in the EU). Walk into any normal room (not '2 or 3 way') and you turn the lights on going up, off down? Same convention normally holds on such rear mounted switches on electronics gear, on is toward the power entry, off away. Minor point, but when unlabeled I (and I think most others?) reflexively go with the convention. In this case the off position is more exposed, IMO it would be better the other way so it doesn't turn itself on laying it on it's side as easily like it did on me. However, in this case it's not a trivial point I think since it's a safety issue should it start heating 'on it's own'. I noticed the light come on again when I laid it on it's side (still plugged in, obviously), but that might not always happen leaving hot stuff to make mischief.

Hey, this thing is neat!

EDIT: Well, of course @OF got his. Naturally he took the same photo. *sigh*

I was too busy USING it with all kinds of stuff, and trying to get a decent video. Have a couple of instagram photos out there...

Here's another 'system idea' that hasn't been brought up AFAIK, the HS makes the VM silent...... I know that is a concern, it is for me sometimes when I'd otherwise like to enjoy the VM.

This means I'd better get hot on a battery pack. Lucky for us, since the HS is already 'laptop like' WRT power supply we can take advantage of some already invented cheap solutions I bet...... I'm thinking four or so 18650s up converted to the 20VDC we want. A package about the same size as the HS.

Better, I think, than an extension cord for trips to the garden?

Well, like I said, I'm stupid, so I'd never heard about:

So it's backwards then.

Unless you hold it up to a mirror........

Misinformed is not stupid. Not even close. It's one of those details you never think about, like cold water on the right. Ever find a sink the other way around? I have, talk about all your reflexes going the wrong way. Washing your hands becomes a new adventure.

Like I said, it could be the other way in the EU but in the industries I worked in that was the standard. Labels modify that as well I guess, but from a safety standpoint alone I'd set it up so the more stable (mechanically) state (toggle toward the cord) was off.

In any event I'd call it a toggle, not rocker. A guy can turn it over and over looking for a rocker. Which cn also be fun I guess, depending on whether you do it before or after using it......

OF you are right of course on the toggle/rocker distinction, but I believe I can solve the problem in terms of switch direction.

At least in my neck of the woods, where we use 240v power like our European friends, light switches are turned on going down and off going up lol.

As such, it is correctly oriented for many people's purposes outside the US - which is fair enough, given that it is designed and handmade by somebody in Europe ;)

Damn, my Vapman Station seems to have been sent slightly later because Vapman had to check with me which power adapter I wanted before sending. I am expecting my Vapman station to arrive tomorrow with a little luck :D

I will immediately put it through the paces with higher grade bubble hash and absolute shatters to provide some usage thoughts on these materials.

Hey @vapmanjoe I noticed you seemed to be vaping bud in the video on heat setting 5.

This concerns me thinking that the Vapman station may not get hot enough for hash or especially shatter...

Since you have used wax and hash in it, can you give your thoughts with regard to which heat settings seem to work best for each material you have used? Thanks :)

Also does it take a long time to get a bowl of hash/shatter going?

I don't want to speak for anyone that actually owns a station, but as I understand it the station preserves the Vapman ritual of 'heat, beat, heat, beat, heat, inhale'. So you'd take it off the station for your water needs if I'm understanding things correctly.

Yes, albeit it's not really comparable to the ritual of the lighter, the station preserves the typical heating - inhaling ritual

Thanks for the info OF. Just seeing if it was possible. It does look like a drag to perform that way. Sucks to hear the mica damaging from the station (I got a mica myself too). @vapmanjoe were you using a basic or classic vm in the video?

I use it with a vapman mica but luckily I have not noticed any flaking of the mica shild. But anyway I'm thinking of getting my first basic just for use with the station, I'm trying to justify an ebony model

After some tries I noticed, that heat setting 2-3 is enough for herb...with hash at this setting you get a lot of tasty hits with little visible vapor, with higher settings you can get more cloudy hits, so I experienced no drawbacks.

Great to hear brother! Sounds like I'm in for a treat early this week to help grease the academic wheels of progress lol

I have gotten a mica unit with my station too, but I would guess that Rene would ensure for the vapmans that come with a station that the vapman fits without any such scraping. OF's discovery of this issue with vapmans not sold with the station however will no doubt be valuable for Vapman in producing further units :)

So I've had my Vapman (or i should say Vapmen) for four weeks now and i wanted to hold off on first impressions as i didn't want to just come here and say...i love it, its great, go out and buy one, but...
i love it, its great, go out and buy one:rofl:

I'm a little ashamed to admit i bought my first as a novelty item  but am pleased to say that it has not only found a place in my line up (and my heart :puke::D), but has made all my other vapes seem like novelty items :o, words don't do it justice.

I dont think there's anything useful i can say that hasn't already been said  so just a few random thoughts/observations/ideas/dreams...

Ive been working on my cousins house, old house 200+ years and we have ripped the whole upstairs out dirty dirty job but the Vapman has made it fun and has never missed a beat , but it did get a little
messy  the slightly charred (or could be oils from usage) middle section i can live with even see it as a badge of honour  but the wood lost all it shine and gained a whole load of dirty finger marks, i don't have any acetone yet but did have some magic eraser and remembered someone recommending this for the bowl, now my bowl was dirty also so i tried this and it looks almost new again  i had tried ISO but it didn't make any difference, so after the bowl success i thought maybe it could help with the wood and it did, although there are still a few very faint marks left, after a walnut oil and beeswax wood butter rub it is looking nice again  and the marks that are there i think i can only notice them because i know they are there if that makes sense :mental:

Does anyone have any suggestions on something safe to use to clean the wood (the outside part you hold that says Vapman) would acetone or ISO on a cue tip help remove any set in marks? Its not a big deal as i have a pristine Vapman classic (that thanks to a one time special deal cost £24:o) sat as a spare just incase as its the one vape i really would not like to be without.

It truly is beautiful and got the same reaction from all of my good friends (mostly tradesmen) that starts with them sitting, looking, turning it and smiling at it, saying "this little thing ha is it really a vape?", to using it and saying things like "i think I'm more stoned but i don't know?" with red eyes and a confused look on their face:lmao: i think this says it all  they are all heavy long time smokers and two out of the four that helped with the house have already ordered one for themselves  and the other two are thinking up ways to talk the wife into it  (The whole single dad thing can be hard but not having anyone i have to run things by is a nice reward:tup:)

I would like to say it has cured my VAS but while i don't need/want some of the others i had my eye on,
i do need a HS  but can wait and see if a custom version can be had in a while when things settle down a bit and the living legend that is @vapman has a bit more free time. and then there is the lamp/desk version and hand powered one  so much to think about but thanks to my Vapman i finally have some control.

Now for usage i like to cover two holes for the first few hits while covering and uncovering the third, then after that i don't find any need to cover any unless i want big dense clouds :science:, and I've almost mastered one bowl one hit :ko: consistently. I've been lucky to have never combusted yet but can get as close as possible i think from the colour of the stuff that comes out.

If you've made it this far well done  and i apologise as reading this is time you have lost and wont get back

Ever find a sink the other way around?

Funny you mentioned this, i have been at my house for just over 15 year and replaced the kitchen and bathroom not long after buying, and have only noticed tonight that the kitchen sink has cold on the right and the bath and bathroom sink cold is on the left :mental: says a lot about the idiot that did the work :hmm: oh wait  ok it wasn't my best moment

Got to unbox my Vapman today. Can't enjoy any mj at the moment, but hopefully will get to use it before the end of next week.

I was pleasantly surprised at the size when I first opened it, I thought it would be considerably bigger. My first thought was that I got a "mini" vapman.

Just Some new insights:
You can get pretty baked with heat setting 1-2.

After reading the manual several times and observing it while using it with different settings I would understand the functioning like this:

When you connect the vapman for the first time you see a red light, and the first heating cycle starts without the vapman.
1. When the station is ready(orange light) the station keeps heating up to a preset temperature and holding it
2. The you connect the vapman it shots off firstly, indicated by blinking slowly for about 4 seconds - at this Stage the Station Measures the amount of the temperature fall from the Last time the vapman was connected. If you wait and don't reconnect the vapman immediately, the bowl is colder and it needs to be reheated for a longer time.
3. After 4 seconds it starts to blink faster (heating up again) for a given time (namely depending on the measurement results of the heating sensor. Afterwards it switches to Green light. That means, the Station heats up again up to a preset temperature first and shots off again indicated by the Green light. But the heating Pan of the Station conserves the reached temperature quite long. When i waited a bit longer at the the green (off-) phase, then more vapor is produced showing by vapor escaping the vapman! If you would forget the vapman while connected, then actually produced vapor would disappear and the vapman would cool off more and more.
In case the vapman isn't connected and the station remains in the heating mode (orange), then it shots off after 5 min too.

If you start with a higher setting or switch to a higher setting later, the "only" difference is, that the heating period which follows after the 4 second phase (temperature fall measuring phase) lasts for a longer time than at a lower temperature setting. At a low setting it switches quite fast (1-2 sec.) to the green (off-) phase. At the highest setting it keeps up heating longer and switches to green later (up to 4-5 sec.).
Therefore you can finish a bowl faster and get thicker hits at a higher setting. So you could start with a lower setting and enjoy more tasty hits for a longer time, and later switching to a higher setting to finish the bowl with a big cloud. But it's not necessary to switch at all - The Herb evenly gets baked at the lowest setting too

I hope @vapman I don't spread false info. But it did quite sence to me while testing it with different settings.

Ps: Tried it also with my bubbler. heat up.connect vapman to glass.Draw. Works fine.

All this vapman station talk is making my VAS flare up!

On the subject of using the heating station/vapman/water pipe combo... imagine an enail sort of set up thats coil was the same shape as the vapman bowl. The heating element/coil could have a wooden ring around it to pick it up by. So you pack your vapman and put it in your water pipe, pick up the wooden ring (with the vapman bowl shaped heating element/coil in the middle) and place it on the vapman and wait a few seconds to heat soak. Then hit until the bowl is finished, take the ring off and put it back on its dock and empty the vapman bowl. Repeat.

does that make sense? (I'm pretty vaked)

@UnshavenFish You wouldn't believe it, I magic erasered my vapman today too and was going to post about it lol.

I've got a pear basic and it was time for the bowl and filter to have a little clean. The center post had built up some of the black residue that comes from using the concentrate screens with shatter. It makes it hard to remove the screens. The magic eraser does a great job of cleaning it up. The wood was looking dull so I hit it with eraser too and it worked great. It even cleaned up the part of the middle section that normally weeps a bit of oil. I haven't used it since but I'm sure it won't take long to start weeping again :p

If you hit it with a beeswax finish and buff it, it'll stay much cleaner much longer and look nicer too.

OK, here we go...

Let's see if this makes sense to you guys.

Pressed hash at 3 - 4 ish.
flowers at 1 - 3.
Black green "hash"... infused kief. . 2 - 3

I bumped it up to 6 and kept heating & drawing to clean it up. .. worked a treat!

Dangerously fun. ...

Hubby had a design suggestion. .. make the slot openings more of a y shape. .. the tolerance to drop it in is very close.

Ok, Vapman on massdrop for $62 pear basic, PR +$25 for the classic mica...

Will this actually be a good price/place to buy one? Is this the best way to try this beast (and potentially pass it on to someone as a gift too... Though it seems likely I won't want to once I try the damn thing haha)?

And what's benefits of mica vs basic really? Heat protection for burning yourself? (I do have a few Lily burn scars now... Haha)

And what's this about a digital station?! Digitzies the Vapman?! Seems like a log meets Vapman now that I saw a pic

I would contact Randy at PIU before going with the mass dump and waiting for a basic or mica. If your looking for exotics hit up Vapman.com (Station only here) or infinityvm.com for amazing two tone, tattooed and other awesome VM products! :2c::peace:

Wow beautiful, and the station seems amazing, so obviously going to have to get one of those some day but I can be patient since its so brand new, guess I'm not that late to the party.

Looks like Randy only has classics, and no lighters? I would like a 14mm wood mp like he has there though... How necessary is the Vapman lighter? Would triihouse work or does vapman have settings and such for temp it seems?
