i have lots of herb plugging all the kief holes up in my grinder. whats the best way to remove, and the best preventive measures for it happening again? i dont feel safe with my aluminum grinder because it has scratches on it, which make me worry. talk me out of getting an all rosewood grinder?

By "kief holes" I assume you mean the screen. Clean it with ISO and something like a toothbrush. Regular cleaning is needed. If the screen isn't clean and can't pass kief it serves no purpose.

I just received my cnc chromium crusher yesterday. I have to say I am very impressed with the quality of build, smoothness of the grinding (takes very little effort), and the screen was finer than expected. Maybe I'm so impressed because I got my previous grinder at a gas station from an Indian man who gave it to me for $5 and the thing was the same size as the CC but double or triple the weight with a huge yin yang symbol on top haha. After reading through this thread I made sure to clean the CC well before using it. I am sure glad I did because I found a surprising amount of metal shavings. I cleaned with 91% iso and qtips. I would have never guessed or seen the shavings with the naked eye, but they came right off with the qtip. $20 + free shipping on ebay, received in 3 days. I think its one hell of a deal.

I dont like the pins they use in wooden grinders... not as efficient as the milled diamond teeth you find in steel and aluminum grinders. i mean wooden ones are great if your going too smoke it... but does not grind as fine as I like (and I dont totally obliterate my herb either, I like it too be a bit fluffy)Madcap Laughed said:

woops.. shouldnt have mentioned steel... all the ones I know of steel are not production models, I have a bunch of friends who milled a bunch so I am used too using them. as far as I know can only get aluminum and titanium grinders on the market.

yeah one of the ones we made was almost a direct copy of a space case (small) and it weighed almost twice as much. Sucks the he only experimented for a few months on making grinders, decided it was too much work. He stopped making them before I ever got one.

well i know its been covered, but I am writing this to encourage newbs newbier than me to invest in a quality grinder as a perfect vape accessory.
In my self intro i wrote about how i would always skimp on quality over price. In the long run i spent way too much money on replacement or came to find impurities in my herb or pollen.
Sorry again for reiterating or beating the dead horse, but it will save you a lot of hassle and give you a pleasant first vaping experience if you haven't before.
i think Max wrote about Kellys great products on ebay. Kelly definitely has some cheapo neat stuff that does the job, (i.e I bought a neat stash jar and a few other essentials) but when it came to quality...you will get what you pay for...

Oh my word. My 3 inch space case 2 piece came in today!!!
Unfortunately I have no unground bud for it (I'll have that taken care of next week though
) but it is a beauty.
It is honestly in another world quality wise than my chromium crusher but whether it is worth the money or not I can't say yet.
I'm gonna probably take some pictures tonight for you all and hopefully have a review next week....

forgive me if this seems trivial but I am taking a TB and I need something to not think of it.
So when you go pick up, cut down, bring in your herb, do you grind it all in that one sitting or do you do it per day (an allowance) or every time you load up?
I thought of this because I just did it all up and I wondered if does something bad, like make it go stale etc. Maybe breaking up the nugs makes it break down faster. I put my back in a ziplock and plan to one day get some pill case..for different strains if i can ever get any. After I get my MZ and watch the quantity go way down, then I just might jump and buy fire if they can get it. The next step is to grow my own and that can be risky

i never grind my bud. i just pull bits off (with tweasers) and drop them into the vial. it bothers me that trichomes stick to the pins of the grinder. i do need to stir the contents of the vial after several minutes of toking, however.
I do a iso wash/scrape on the grinder when it gets really gunked so not much wasted there. My 4pc 2.25 mendo just came in the mail and it is a nice grinder. Grinds a tiny bit finer than I would ideally prefer but nothing to worry about. Seems to collect kief at a decent rate as well.

damn just cleaned out my grinder and it had some trapped ground stuff in the screen and keif chamber. probably a PD/MZ load right there.. dam I need my MZ..this is going to be a long week. maybe I will just get some more and not worry too much about what I have left..nah will teach me patience
