I really cannot see why the pax is so popular....iive tried it a buncha times..its OK

Heres my experience

I owned an EQ and my friend bought a pax cuz he wanted a portable vape and he bought into the hype...

All of my combusting friends including me hated it...never felt like we could get a big enoigh hit to get stoned from it.it became the laughing stock of our friends actually. "Leave the pax at home"...then I grabbed a solo and everyone was blown away. My friend ordered one and put his pax on the shelf.

So to a bunch of normal smokers...the pax gave vaping a bad name...and the Solo had them hooked

IMO they need to redesign/rerelease it if they want to stay in the game

No offense to pax lovers! Just wanted to share my experience

I agree with everyone about Ploom stepping up but I have to say, it seems a lot of people never quite got how to grind, pack, and draw from the Pax. I know it has some draw backs but the only thing I could ever really complain about was the cleaning. This thing packs a punch for me, tons and tons of vapor. Even fills up my water tools. I dont understand when folks say they never could get a good hit off of it. Ive gotten heavy cigar smokers to tap out with the Pax. Unless you had bunk vapor like Donald Glover in some interview he did a few years ago(grinding with a 3 peice), I dont see how anyone could hate this thing. Some people are also forgetting about the 10 year warranty, which other vapes mentioned do not have.

With load sizes that big I would expect good vapor, for me the Pax is like the Volcano, it can deliver but it's minimum herb requirements for solid hits is too high, I prefer .05-.1g loads.

Yea it works and i have gotten high from it...i dont mean to hate on it too bad...its a pretty dope little unit but i think other options blow it away!

Arizer air kind of really steppin in...thats why i think pax needs to ditch the plastic mouthpiece and get some glass thangs goin on in there! Im going to go in on my friends pax one day soon..i feel it deserves another shot

Do you live in US or Canada?

Because if not it doesn't matter where you get your Pax from you'd have to ship it to your friend and have them file a warranty since Pax doesn't even do the warranty if you don't live in the US or Canada.

This is not mentioned on the Ploom website. Where do you base this on? They say this:

"Pax by Ploom Warranty is only serviceable in the US and Canada, as Pax is only available for purchase in the US and Canada, at this time." - https://www.ploom.com/support/warranty/#pax-10-year-ltd-warranty

No mention of where the actual customer can live. That would be quite ridiculous. Suppose you are a US citizen who buys a Pax in the USA, then moves to Europe. All of a sudden the unit has no warranty anymore? I can understand that the unit needs to be sent back to a USA address, though.

Anyway, I ordered with Vapeworld, using my European address for billing, and the friend's address in the USA for shipping.

I've seen some pretty nice videos and experienced some pretty nice sessions personally. I just don't think overall performance warrants price of 250, the price drop is a little late.

I don't think the Air is too impressive either, for 160 it'd be reasonable if the Solo is 125.

The air is 160 i believe...or close to it...if its anything like the solo vapor quality i think it would make the pax look silly

theres somethig about all plastic units that turn me off

Silly indeed. But when I read "Pax by Ploom Warranty is only serviceable in the US and Canada, as Pax is only available for purchase in the US and Canada, at this time.", that means since you should only be able to get a Pax from the US and Canada and due to this we are only able to service you in the US and Canada. We will pay for US shipping and send screens to the Canadian shippers for paying their shipping. No mention of any other country or international.

Where am I asking to be receiving warranty service outside the USA? I am not asking for this. I am going to visit the USA next week. I ordered a Pax with Vapeworld successfully, to be delivered to a USA address. I am the person on the billing address, so the owner. My address happens to be in Europe. If I would ever require warranty on the unit, I would have it shipped back to the USA (or brought), and I would have Vapeworld return it to me at the USA address.

P.S. Vapeworld actually does offer international shipping. If Vapeworld is the company I have to go to for warranty service, then I guess it should also be possible to get warranty from outside the USA. But again, it would not be a problem for me as I can have it shipped back to the USA address if I have to go to Ploom directly.

What I am confused about, though, is whether I have to deal with Vapeworld or Ploom in the event of a warranty service.

Hey guys first time poster here

I've been skimming through this thread for a while now and would agree in saying it'd be nice if ploom could give us some updates on the pax

I mean considering the many problems we could all agree on, why have we gotten no response in return from them?

It seems like ploom as a company has become a bit too confident in a product that may have been badass when it came out, but is really being surpassed by other vapes/vape companies

Haze is obviously a great example of this with their kickass customer service and how they actually improve their product based simply on feedback from dedicated customers

It's just sort of irritating to think that we have to come up with these 'hacks' to make the pax work really well

I would like to see ploom do something to make the pax easier to clean perhaps? Or to even expand to make it compatible with concentrates as well as herb? (I'm essentially imagining an all purpose can)

Even something as simple as actual spacers for the pax so we can finally stop making little screen tacos to conserve herb

Am I ridiculous for expecting more from ploom? :hmm:

Btw sorry if I said something dumb (first time poster anxiety)

Yes. $250 is high for the Pax in this day. There are a ton of updates they could do. My Air is good, not impressive, but good. I expected a thinner Solo so...
I don't use my PAX a ton these days but I still make it work.:whip:PAX

Vapeworld just responded:

"Yes, your unit is completely covered under a 10 year warranty for any manufacturer defect. If you ever need warranty service please give us a call and we can file a warranty request form on your behalf. Once we send the form to Ploom a representative from their office will contact you and send you a shipping label."

Yes this is true of Vapeworld but I doubt it's true of Massdrop. I suspect if you asked them they would tell you they would cover the warranty themselves. That is what they told @virtualpurple on his Herbie.

Thanks for reaching out to Ploom Support! I can confirm that Vapeworld.com is an authorized Pax retailer. A purchase made through Vapeworld.com would be 100% covered by our 10 year limited warranty."

Just a heads up everyone. Ploom is now offering the Pax for 199.99 with free shipping. If you were on the line over price, here is your chance.
