Hi all, long time lurker emerging from the shadows due to a sudden spasm of Mighty lust. Well, damn! and here I sit with a Crafty but I keep glancing longingly and lovingly at the Mighty. Ol' devil VAS has got me. I have read through the entire Crafty thread and have begun reading this (albeit backwards). As of yet, I have not seen reference to the dreaded cooling attachment housing issues cropping up in the Crafty. Has the Mighty been free of this?

Thanks!

Hi NickDlow - thanks for responding. Check out posts 2892, 2908 and 3004 in the Crafty thread as examples. Each of those posts have pics showing the issue in different ways. (Sorry about not posting the pics - not quite sure how to repost pics yet and am in somewhat of a time crunch.) The essence of the issue is that the housing where the cooling unit screws into the main body has had a number of "fails" in different ways. Different pieces cracking off. So far - I haven't had any issues. My Crafty has been running like a champ - and it's "hits" are revelatory...but it's fair to state that it's quite new with few logged hours.

I read some folks breaking or cracking a black cooling fin while servicing the blue O-ring that acts as gasket between bowl and cooling unit. It is not a structural problem. By that I mean (as I understand it) it does not impair the functioning of the Mighty. The cooling unit still solidly attaches to the base.

I have just noticed the cooling unit/base of unit being cracked thread in the crafty forum. I have read this thread extensively and have not seen one mention, it may be crafty soecific. I hope its a small amount of people affected. I am still very pleased with my unit.

hey Mayan, I meant "crafty specific" and that I have not seen any mention of people breaking the "docking" area of the mighty unit. Maybe cuz the mighty was the "main unit" they developed and the crafty was an inspiration they had during development. I am still happy with s& b and my purchase. All di best.

Important Note to all S & b Portable owners.

It has been mentioned, but I have still managed to slice most of my "cooling unit O rings" by not seating them down ALL THE WAY DOWN, it is being sliced by the "mighty logo/lock"take a look as you put the lock back on, if you see the O ring through the gap, it will get sliced :)

How has your guys mighty experience been? I use it if I need a quick high. My mighty has seemed to slow down, not getting the big clouds I did at the beginning. I don't like how it dances near your temperature selection when battery is low. I am going to try it at 410f.

Hi mixchu69, Mines working the same, I may clean to much, but I use a new CU every day or every other day. I can get 6 sessions then at about 1 or 2 bars recharge, it dances very minimally for me, it seems to get to temp quickly. I only use this vape and 10 times a day ;)

I noticed I still hadnt been seating my CU O ring low enough (all the way down with a pick tool).

Vape DR in the crafty thread is using his MV small basket in his crafty, he likes the reuslts, I want to try my self, I am trying to find a seller online with them, its 100 bux for a set from MV.

all the best man.

Thanks for the input. I have the mv basket so must try it out. Regarding the CU Oring, I never thought about adjusting it. I always try to use it how the manufacturer designed it, but if it improves the experience, I am all for it.

Cool mixchu69, I think that's where they want it to sit, I just had mine high (like almost as high as us) and the mighty logo was slicing it, I could actually see the o ring as I was sliding back on the logo/lock.

Cleaning question:
I have cleaned the cooling unit many times (no problems), but have not removed/cleaned the O ring around the heating chamber.

Has anyone cleaned it yet, does it need cleaning? Looks like a hard one to get off, and not sure if it needs to be done.

Hi Mike M, was pondering the same thing, I was going to let it go for a long while, even months or years. but this is subject to change if I have issues, what are you thoughts.

And I have heard of people breaking the top fins trying to pry it out. Waiting to see what people on the thread have to say.

Check out vape critics cleaning video for the mighty and crafty. I haven't messed with any O rings yet, but have cleaned my cooling unit. None of the o rings were dirty.

the one thing i did learn from the crafty thread, remove any components when they are warm, not all honeyd together. To me it seems more craftys were sold, the mighty never leaves my house so the size is fine, there seems to be some issues with the crafty, hopefully a minority, I am still quite happy with this unit.

take care fellas

Just an update on my mates battery issue.

s&b responded and said that his battery was not charging fully because his Mighty required a re calibration.

They have asked him to send it in and promised a one week turnaround.

Anyone try a whole, un-ground nug in the Mighty/Crafty? Wondering if it would be easy to pack at a festival without a grinder?

I like grinding my dryish flower fine for best extraction. The filling tool is nice, you can load it with many many bowlsworth and its clean, you could refill in the dark or not looking.

Dang do I have to run an experiment to find out , oh to smoke more savory green... No problemo

Dose anyone know what happens to material that makes it through the screen into the holes at the bottom of chamber? My friend has been using hash and he's sure some stuff has unfortunately gotten through.
